See, back in my day, there were consequences for the words that came out of your mouth. You could play up your act for the cameras all you wanted, but once the cameras were turned off and it was just you and the other person, then things got reaaaally interesting. yes the best part about his insults is how brutally honest they are.

Menus that big are (almost) always a red flag. Hard to keep all those ingredients fresh and in stock, and it leads to inconsistency in preparation most of the time.

I think the only really good restaurant I've been to with a huge menu was Berns Steakhouse, and their menu is mainly huge because each steak takes up about half a page because they cut them to order.

You know the show is good when there are still clips being uploaded years after it ended and people are still coming back
I wish these people understood that he gives them opinions they need to hear so he can come in and help there business by changing all the problems. If I owned a restaurant that was going under I'd let him be captain and retrain me and my staff to fix the problems and keep an open mind. But I guess when you work so hard you can get easily prideful from a business you own and control. This is a great show though.
I guess the fact that you have this mindset makes it unlikely that you would even get to this point.
We tend to get into a routine and get complacent. So it helps to have an another set of eyes from the outside. And, as the phrase goes, I can't fix what I don't know is broke. I'll admit, my feathers would be ruffled by his attitude (who wouldn't?) but at the end of the day, I know he's right.
It's a tv show bruv, they script a lot of the drama and push back :)

I think the worst owner has to be from ammy's bakery.
Aside from the obvious known dumpsterfires, she definitely is one of the worse.
Also later when Gordon revisits it, according to Ashton, the head waiter, she went back to her original menus and the restaurant closed permanently. Then, she and her husband were separated (probably already divorced) and she lose some weights because of the stress and wants to spend her time with her family.

I like how whatever the state of the restaurant Ramsey is always polite to the wait staff. None of these train wrecks are usually their fault and there’s very little they can do about it.

She is a spoiled brat. Look for the full episode. Her dad babied her her entire life. All she tried to do was cry to get her way with everyone, including Gordon.
And my God, the way she talked with Gordon outside after her "breakdown" sounds like a 5 years old kid who's still learning how to talk properly. I'm more surprised that she had a husband and most of the time he looked like he didn't wanna be there.
