Well Trunks wouldn't vanish bc the event is in a different timeline/reality so Trunks would still exist in the alternate timeline and would also still exist in the current timeline bc he physically traveled there.

If Vegeta overhears what Trunks said... Then the consequences only really arrive at the Buu Saga, since Trunks' timeline isn't affected by the Z timeline. Probably, the Buu saga would be easier, since Goku wouldn't pass the torch again, then BoG would likely bring Tarble to do the God Ritual... Yeah. Things just cascade on course until the Moro arc, really.

That’s not how time travel works in dragon ball. Future trunks exists no matter what. All that would change is that in the main timeline kid trunks is never born. Db going out of its way to show you that when you time travel an alternate timeline is created, but the timeline you live in is unaffected. That’s why nothing changes in trunks timeline

I think people might be overthinking what these what ifs are just a little bit. Like with stuff that would drastically change the story long term, I don't think we will actually see those effects. It seems like for the most part the story will just connect to each other perfectly fine going along the main one, but the what ifs are very isolated to episodes. Like with the Goku going super Saiyan against Vegeta in their first fight thing, I don't think that will now mean that the what if continues into namek saga with Goku already having super Saiyan I think you just get the what if episode and then next episode it's back to normal and you get another isolated what if.
Idk i think it may at least have gameplay affects. We know charater unlocks will be in the gsme but not sure if itll be like bt3. If it is then you may unlock ss goku earlier
This and I’ve seen a lot of people suggest what if forms, including this video. Ssj saiyan saga goku makes sense, because they can just use goku (mid) for that. Same thing with namek saga ssj vegeta. They could probably just use cell saga ssj vegeta assuming he will have access to the namek outfit.
However, something like ssj2 future gohan probably would not happen. I really doubt they’d use a character slot on a what if transformation. It could just be a cutscene I guess, but that’s a little lame. I will say it would be really dope if they maybe had a season pass dedicated to what if characters.
There is a TON of overthinking in the community right now but thats because there is nothing else to do but wait lol. Besides its just a fun list of scenarios ive always been curious about. I dont expect most of them to ever be realized.
in the old budokai what if's. raditz gets amnesia, teams up with goku. remembers napa and vegeta are coming. and chooses to go to space and kamikaze their ship, killing all 3. What Ifs are not usually true branches. just a small side story
There's a problem with the second what if scenario even if vegeta knew about who trunks's parents and Vegeta didn't be with bulma trunks will still exist because thats not how time travel works and we clearly so that in dbs when beerus killed zamasu in the arc using hakai and for context timelines work the way they work in Avengers Endgame
It could be one of those where they change the rule. After all it was intended originally to be like that. Trunks originally in the manga told Goku not to tell anyone because he could not be born and it was changed later to multiverse theory.

- Goku’s head bump gives him an IQ of 300
- Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Chichi, and Bulma train under Roshi
- Buu wakes up during Cell Games
- Piccolo gets his potential unlocked on Namek
- Yamcha stays with Bulma
- Gohan and Vegeta fuse against Buu
- Raditz turns good
- Trunks goes too far back (to right before the Raditz fight)
- Frieza kills Piccolo on Namek
- Goku achieves SSJ4 in otherworld (rather than SSJ3)
- Everyone involved in the god ritual gets SSG
- King Cold is revived instead of Frieza
I know its a what if but gohan achieving beast in the cell games is just... bruh

Aside from that, most of these scenarios are pretty lame, and just amount to "What if character was stronger?" Then they'd win their fights easier. That's not exciting.
They're not going that in depth with the what if's. It'll still be small changes, but it will always end up being the same result somehow The only way they'll go to that in depth with it is to make the whole game a what if think xenoverse but with Consequences

Well here’s a what if. What if King Vegeta, Bardock, Gina & Fasha manage too survive that battle against Frieza and somehow meet years later on earth and since all of them are Pure Sayians they could try too make more of their race. Plus Goku & Vegeta will be able to see their parents again and perhaps even challenge them too a fight.
1. What if Vegeta went SSJ3 and him and Goku beat Kid Buu.
2. SSJ3 Vegeta and SSJ3 Goku vs LSSJ3 Broly
3. If they mastered SSJ3 (SSJ3 Bardock kept up with UI Goku, SSJ3 Cumber fought SSBKK Vegito, LSSJ3 Broly was a monster)
I'm pretty sure all these happened in db heroes. and the third what if you gave is heroes exclusive stuff so it might not work.

I have a few of my own, like what if Buu absorbed Goku instead of Gohan, and then Gohan fused with Vegeta.
What if Goku and Vegeta fused during ToP and fought Jiren as Vegito, maybe unlocking Royal Blue UI or something.
What if Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 fused as Gamma 3
I believe gokhan would’ve been stupid busted, gohan was confirmed to be the strongest fighter out of all of them after unlocking ultimate and then the father son bond boost could be stronger than the rival boost and even though gohan is a big arrogant, with his mindset with his dad, he would most likely hurry to get the job done
It would be insanely busted but idk about strongest since goku has ultra instinct and now vegeta has ultra ego if they combined those forms by fusing there power would be unbelievable

Eh, the 2nd what if wouldnt really affect much even if present trunks isnt born, since what you do in the past only created an alt timeline (i.e. the canon present timeline) instead of changing the future.
I think a cool way to do the gokhan scenario would be to make you play as gohan and have a quick time event to catch the earring, if you catch it, you get gokhan
For point 2, Trunks wouldn't vanish. Time Travel in DB doesn't change the future, it just creates alternate timelines. We have seen that multiple times. So instead, the big changes would probably be Trunks is never born and Vegeta stops himself from falling for Bulma. This would probably affect the Buu saga and the lead up to that more, coz we don't get Gotenks and we don't get Vegeta's moral attachments and hence he probably never accepts Goku.

I have a tangent What-If to that... in SuperHero, what if Cell Max self destructing reverted one of his cells DNA into that of Perfect Cell, and so Super Perfect Cell absorbed Cell Max. Cell Max was just a big brute, but that much power absorbed within the smart, calculated, sneaky and arrogant being that is Super Perfect Cell, that would be nuts. Not to mention we'd get a reunion of Gohan and Cell, who are basically like Goku and Frieza. Say Gohan Beast realizes what's going on and goes all out, but Ultimate Cell just uses his wits to outmaneouver and defeat Gohan, but instead of killing him, he just goes "You've gotten weaker. You used to be much more entertaining when we were younger. Right now, defeating you as is, has no meaning." And he just leaves, and goes on to try conquering the Universe. So we have Frieza and Cell as conquerors on opposite ends, Gohan is frustrated by his inability to defeat Cell and scared by the looming threat he posseses, etc.

Dead Zone: One year before the start of DBZ, and don't have the scenes at the Kame House
The World's Strongest: have it happen before the Saiyan arrival and let the rest of the Z warrior fight Wheelo and his enchmans
The Tree of Might: Same thing as the last one, or make it happen before the return of Goku and let the Z fighters and Vegeta take care of it, or make it after the Namek Saga and let Goku map the floor with everyone with Super Saiyan
Lord Slug: Literally the same as the last one, holy shit those early movies can't happen lmao
Cooler's Revenge: I think its intended to take place during the 3 year time-skip between the Trunks visit and the Androids attack
The Return of Cooler: Same as the last one, just the fact that Dende needs to be on Namek and Piccolo isn't fused with Kami (Vegeta SSJ can be seen only by Goku)
Super Android 13!: Make it happen before the Cell Games (I think it's the only 'calm' moment during that Saga where It can happen)
Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan: Same as the last one (I'm not going to explain how there can be two different Broly and two different Paragus thank you)
Bojack Unbound: It starts at the beginning of the 7 year between the Cell Games and the Majin Buu Saga, so easy
Broly - Second Coming: The original movie clashes with the start of the Buu Saga, so this has to take place during the last

Now that they revealed the fact that they are going to divide the story based on the character, I thought it would be really cool to implement some of the movies into a specific character, like this:
Goku: The World's Strongest / Cooler's Revenge / Wrath of the Dragon
Vegeta: The Return of Cooler / Fusion Reborn
Gohan: Bojack Unbound / Broly - Second Coming
Piccolo: Dead Zone / The Tree of Might / Lord Slug
Future Trunks: Super Android 13! / Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan
Or maybe it's for the best that everyone also has their own dedicated battles for each movie they appear in, even though it might be messy, because Goku practically gives the finishing blow in every movie.
What If Piccolo fused with Kami in the Saiyan Saga? Either Gohan dies to Raditz, or they manage to defeat Raditz with Goku still alive, so either way, Piccolo can't train Gohan. But also, since Goku isn't dead he can't train with King Kai. So when Nappa and Vegeta arrive, Goku is killed by them, and the only way to defeat the saiyans would be for Piccolo to fuse with Kami. He then wipes the floor with both of them. And since Dragon Balls are inert now, because there is no Kami, they still have to travel to Namek!
My 3 what if’s is What if Goku and Vegeta Fused against Jiren,What if Vegeta Becomes Super Saiyan God Against Beerus and what if Goku Goes ultra instinct against broly in the DBS Broly movie
My favorite what-if I want to see is diverged from GT with DBS-like events happened. Instead of Goku going with Shenron to purify the DBs (which was implied), he instead accept to never use the DBs ever again and stay with his family and friends. Beerus wakes up to search for a SSG, go to Earth after hearing about the Shadow Dragon incident. Goku fought Beerus with SS4, and actually impressed Beerus with a feat that actually stronger than SSG Goku in BoG. Instead of using the DBs because they're not exist anymore, Goku suggested to go to Namek to find answer about SSG. Unfortunately, they find Nameks in ruined of fire as Frieza Force was able to located them, brainwash a Namekian to use the DBs and wished to revive Frieza and Cell, and healed the former. Goku found a fatally-wounded Namekian expained the full situation, and as he finished, the planet is exploding. Goku and co left before the planet is destroyed, but this heavily weighted others as there's no DBs left, so they believe Namekians are completely extinct...
I haven't thought out all the story yet, but I wished I can have this game so I can fleshed out this storyline.
I don't think people actually realized that we're not gonna get what if characters, we're only able to play as existing characters.
In Gero's lab, when 17 and 18 are looking at 16 they mention "I thought you destroyed all the earlier models", to which he agrees, but they note he kept that one. You asked if I know where they were, so yeah, I do, 1-15 were destroyed XD

The only one I liked was the idea of incorporating Z movies…..a what if could be Cooler showing up WITH mecha Frieza….then we get a 2v2 Trunks and Goku vs Cooler And Frieza…..and King Cold 3v2😂

1) Vegeta can go ssj agaist freeza sure but you cant make him go ssj in his freiza saga attire. Youll have to make him cell saga model one.
2) Idk what to even say. Its a fighting game first and foremost.. If u remove trunks, wouldnt the story just be future saga one all over again except trunks not spawning? Then again, you cant alter the future so trunks would still be a thing and will give goku heart medicine and cell saga would play out as it should but buu saga wont cuz trunks and gotenks not being a thing.
3) Vegeta cant go ui cuz he has no model of him being in ui
4) Again, no model problem for ssj2 future gohan but you can add lightning ig to make it seem to be a thing??
5) Cell can absorb goku but no model change, just a powerup. He needed 16 and 17 to attain perfection form, he cant change forms any further except that one time he absorbed krillin in his dreams
6) No gi model for buu to indicate vegito was absorbed
7) Frieza fans rejoice, indeed happily ever after for frieza
8) Buu can join top sure
9) Ginyu can swap with vegeta, yes and I assume you can even change voicelines of characters like give jiren vegetas voice or smt
10) Imma be real, ginyu force cant be reformed (far beyond games capability)
11) Gohan being strongest is possible.
12) Gokhan isnt happening as no model
13) Raditz can be reformed but cant go ssj cuz no hair model
14) The only thing chi chi would be interested in training would be making goku master the push and pull
15) Goku can end up with her but thatll be restricted through dialogue only. U cant make them have hybrids cuz no model
16) All movies cant be cannon cuz of power scaling and contradictions but amend ig.

Cell can't absorb fully mechanical androids, as shown with Android 16. They need to have an organic being as their base for him to be able to absorb them, which 14 and 15 do not.
Potara was retconned a long time ago. It's now just one hour for mortals and not permanent. Yes, this wasn't the case when the Buu arc originally happened, but this game is going to use up-to-date logic, not logic from back then.
Vegeta is smart. Not book smart, yes, but I'm pretty sure he'd be able to work around Chi-Chi's logic and come up with solution that satisfies both of them. Also, it was Bulma who came up with the name Trunks, so a child between Vegeta and Chi-Chi would have a completely different name. And even if Bulma was Gohan's mom, he would still be named Gohan for the same reason as the original Gohan.
If Goku and Bulma got married, his first child would still most likely still be Gohan because it was the name of his grandfather so they probably would’ve still named his first child Gohan I think Goku is the one who picked the name
The main thing I want from the what if's, is the mangá version of the DBS arcs, because I absolutely despise the Anime version. Everything is Goku in the anime version, he takes Gohan's Fights, Vegeta's fights, Master Roshi's fight's, and Goku just steals it all
Trunks would not disappear, because if going back in time affected his timeline at all he would have gone back to no Androids and Bulma making pancakes with Vegeta sitting at the table with a newspaper. Time travel in Dragon Ball has no effect on the timeline where the traveller originated from, because if it did, Trunks would have immediately found his problems solved after first returning to his time due to the butterfly effect caused by his initial intervention. I hate that Xenoverse had ONE JOB, they centered their entire story around time travel in Dragon Ball but forgot how it worked right out the gate. They even acknowledge that Trunks still had to deal with the Androids after changing the past, but somehow all the other changes are just built different, I guess. You can't follow grandfather's paradox AND not follow it at the same time.

So I know this is probably a what if that would never ever happen but what if Goku and chi chi had a girl or Vegeta and Bulma had a girl instead of a boy (yes Vegeta and Bulma had bulla) but what if one of them had a girl before fighting the androids or radtiz

The Goku x Bulma what if is funny because imagine if Future Timeline was Normal and Trunks goes to the past and sees a Blue Haired Gohan and a Black haired Trunks (whod get a Saiyan name most likely like Vegeta Jr or smth since Trunks was the name Bulma gave) when Vegeta and Chichi get together
#14 wouldn't happen that way because Dragon Ball timelines don't work like that. The Future Timeline would stay the same, but the Present Timeline would be changed.
Budakai 3 had a what if scenario of raditz being a good guy...it wasn't a permanent thing since it was caused by memory loss, but it is there
I love the idea of future trunks being the one who died what if. Suposing Gohan travels back in time like trunks did, Gohan's fight with fieza and later with CELL would be amazing!
“Actchually” ☝️🤓 according to the Kai’s, Goku and Gohan only would be fused for an hour. The earrings are only permanent for the Kai’s.
If Vegeta became SSJ instead of Goku agains Frieza, when he would still be a bad guy, and would come after goku and earth once again, but at that time Goku would become SSJ agains Vegeta too and would probably kill him, because vegeta couldnt take another loss to goku, so it only ending i see Vegeta dying.
I've always had this one: Not what if raditiz turned good, what if they all turned good. raditz, nappa, and vegeta. What if they all teamed up with goku to get revenge for the saiyin race. Imagine, instead of the z fighters it's just the whole saiyin squad.
They all fight eachother over the dragonballs because they all want their own thing, but most of all, they want to wish back planet vegeta. After planet namek is destroyed. they choose to wish it back instead.
Once they get back to earth, they settle on not bringing the planet back because they want to bring back their culture of war.plus, with all the planets they destroyed, they feel some guilt. instead the opt to start over on earth. new life, new traditions.
Some of these would be really cool to see but we won't get anything that requires new forms or characters. MAYBE we get DLC of that. I do love when they do stuff like that though like with SSJ3 Vegeta
Vegeta overhearing trunks would not cause him to cease to exist. They are two separate timelines once trunks comes from the future. It would only affect the main x timeline, trunks’s timeline would not be affected in any way. Though, it would def affect how the buu saga goes
My ideas for what ifs (you mentioned some of these in the video)

What if cell turned good
What if gohan defeated buu
What if future gohan went to the past
What if vegeta turned ssj first
What if buu was in the tournament of power
What if bardock won against frieza
What if vegito fought broly
What if gogeta fought buu
What if gogeta fought zamasu
What if zamasu fought goku black
What if future gohan fought goku black
What if piccolo got his potential unlocked earlier
What if goku turned ssj2 instead of gohan
What if beerus fought zamasu
What if vegito fought jiren
What if gogeta fought jiren
What if goku got ultra instinct in the goku black saga
What if cell fought dabura
What if goku helped future gohan
What if vegeta fought kefla
What if gotenks defeated buu
What if vegeta fought beerus
What if vegeta learned the kaioken, instant transmission and the spirit bomb
What if goku got controlled by babidi and turned majin
What if vegito fought beerus
What if gogeta fought beerus
And the one I like the most
What if hercule was trained by beerus and whis
I plan to make these in the custom battle mode in case they arent in the what if part of the story mode (and also if they are possible)
You said you want to fix the “injustices” against Vegeta yet you purposely gave Vegeta a fight he couldn’t win (I am of course talking about Vegeta fighting Frieza as a Super Saiyan)
How jiren was being used in super if boo was there I don't think they would have allowed him to absorb him because I think they'd have jiren brake out like he did for the time bubble and stuff like that but boo absorbing everybody else would have been crazy like if he absorbed Topo
Here’s my idea. Trunks learns to go super saiyan early and him and gohan face off against the androids and win (I know they still wouldn’t be strong enough but bare with me) then goku black kills trunks several years later and gohan goes beast against black and zamasu
These ain’t sparking zero what ifs.. these are just dragon ball z what if in general 😂, cause the what if you saying it’s like how would they translate this into gameplay and why would they put that into this game. They just regular what ifs for dragon ball universe 😂
Naturally, I want to say Goku and Gohan’s fusion would be stronger, but I think it’s Goku’s and Vegeta’s rivalry that gives them the boost and power also
I would’ve wanted to see Vegeta go ssj on namek too but even if he did his base power level was nowhere near Goku in base after healing from the pod against Ginyu
So even if he would transform into a ssj it wouldn’t be enough
Krillin would have to blast him about 10 more times and have dende heal him just to achieve that
i hate how chi chi is shown to be a weird elderly woman and Bulma is still hot. why should chi chi and goku have such a weird relationship?
what if planet vegeta was not destroyed.
what if planet vegeta was not destroyed and King Vegeta never sent Brolly to some random Planet.
what if Brolly was sent to earth.

Well they definitely made it seem like the newer super movies tie into the super storyline
But what if bardock actually survived that's what I want to know, like would he have joined up with Goku and become a hero of earth and what would the storyline be if that actually happened
These aren't what if moments for a Dragon Ball game, these are just what if moments for Dragon Ball as a series.
Actually, when trunks travel back in time, he was already born in the android saga
Future Gohan Survived and come back to the past with Future Trunks to beat cell and comeback to the future and in Black Saga he will turn beast or SSJ Rage
Don't blame Gohan for missing that earring, Goku threw that shit into a different area code.
If Gohan kept on fighting he would be weaker than he was. Gohan needs to have a peaceful life to get stronger. Look how weak Future Gohan is.
I mean, what ifs are only done with existing characters, what you want is canon Dragon Ball Heroes 😂

heres a what if lol what if future bulma didnt have girl brains for over 10 years and remembered theres a set of dragonballs on new namek lol could of called out to king kai and asked where it was , if he wasnt listening then could of went and found roshi , then went to babas palace and contacted him from there with babas help , off to namek , wish the fighters back to namek one by one train and boom future saved lol instead 2 trunks and 2 mais in one timeline lol insanity lol i also wanna see that timeline with the 2 trunks there fusions would be insane much like zamasus the unity would be perfection cause ur the same person
my main what if is what if ssj3 gotenks took the fight seriously and actually beat buu in the hyperbolic time chamber

I always thought vegeta should’ve got UI but the attack variant they should’ve also let him go SSJ3 when bulma got smacked by beerus
if vegeta went super sayian on namek instead of goku they would of lost since super sayian is a 50x multiplier but even then vegeta didn't have high enough power level to win.
They talked about #14 in the anime, said that just because something changed in goku and vegetas timeline doesn’t mean the androids from the future would disappear
Vegeta talking all of that shit about being the next super saiyan and getting his ass kicked only to actually go syper saiyan wpuld be dope. And if vegeta and bulma never slept together, trunks would still exist in the future because its not the same timeline
Raditz was in hfil with Nappa in something, and since I can't remember what it was it's probably when Piccolo was in hell in GT and ran into Nappa
Super Buu absorbing Goku & Vegeta would likely go around Universe 7 looking for good fights and food, it’s likely that he’d have eventually found Broly and if he ever got to Universe 6 or Future Trunks came back for some reason than he’d have become a Super Saiyan God on accident which would have been interesting.
Vegeta turning super saiyan and beating Freeza on namek does happen. In a replay of Goku's dragon universe. In budokai 3 but we never see it and vegeta just starts fighting Goku
I love the idea of future trunks being the one who died what if. Gohan's fight with fieza and later with CELL would be amazing!

A what if I want is what if future gohan ate the senzu bean instead of giving it to trunks and allowing us to decide who goes into the team of Top and u6vu7 like picking yamcha and gotenks and so forth
vegito buu would not kill beerus. he'd be so thoroughly infected by the cockiness of vegito, he'd tell the supreme kai to awaken beerus
The what if's will probably just be single one off fights. Like what if Vegito never unfused and fought Beerus.
I wouldn't expect any what if characters. Maybe 1 or 2 at most and some as DLC. The character slots seem very limited
