  • This video shows the hike to Sawtooth Lake in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. This trail is accessed by the Iron Creek Trailhead and was 10 miles with 1800ft of climbing.
I have explored much of the Sawtooth's yet had never been to the heavily visited and well known Sawtooth lake. Overall crowds were not bad and the hike and lake were stunning. This hike was in the middle of a week trip back home to Idaho and reminded me I need to get back to Idaho with some more time to climb some peaks, see some views, and fish some rivers I've been eyeing for years.
Camping video following this hike will be out soon

Hi Jake - question since you seem to have spent a lot of time in the Sawtooths: do you think it is necessary to carry bear spray on day hikes in the Sawtooths?

I have never bothered or found it necessary. Everyone has their own risk tolerance so do what feels best for you but I only bring bear spray in grizzly country.
      Have a great trip
