the fact that i just went through their channel and didn’t realize they’re wearing the same outfit til now😭😭
bro same here like how did I not notice ???
just in this video we can see her wearing three different outfits
We are conditioned to not care by cartoons 😂😂😂😂😂
I wonder what that tent smells like probably feet and ahh cheese they spend all day walking too 💀
I wear the same outer clothes year long.. I don't see the problem.
The way she said "me neither" was golden! 😂 y'all are hilarious and I love it!
No, it was nasty.
They’re rad people! Always make my day. I’m so glad others appreciate them too. 😀

As a dental hygienist, I'm glad you understand the importance of brushing your teeth daily. I agree you can skip showers, but never your oral health. Looks like y'all are living the good life!
As a dental hygienist, how come dental insurance is so bad and even with insurance, so much out of pocket
@@trossk you ought to ask the dental insurers for the answer
As a non dental hygienist.. just stop
I sure hope they're flossing too though!

It’s not the life for me but it’s fascinating to see. Also in a zombie apocalypse they would probably out survive us all.
They would last a while.. but eventually you want protein.. and that’s where the back country hunter would outlast. Same gear setup has hikers, with the ability to kill, butcher, and pack out the meat.
They’d definitely adapt better than most, but the people who know how to hunt and fish would do best.
Assuming the prey is not also a zombie and then you turn into one yourself. Catch 22.
nah bro they eat 3000 calories or smth a day, honestly there r pros n cons to every person so well just have to see 😭
Why? because they smell like zombies?
When my wife and I spent a few weeks on the CDT we'd send a luxury box with town cloths, shampoo, shaving supplies ect, from town to town. Worked amazing. Love you guy's content and living vicariously through your adventures. Peace, strength, love and many many blessings 🌈
This is a great idea!
@@daranadine7711 works so well.

@@chenanigans yes, it's the Continental Divide Trail.
How do you send it from town to town? Do you just send it to the post office and they hold it for you?

So interesting! But it's a mistake not to bring a towel, that's the most essential part! A towel is just about the most massively useful thing an hiker can carry. Partly because it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it around your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bear; you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course you can dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
👌
It sounds like a towel has about 42 uses 🙂

My acne prone skin would be off the charts if I did this.
@@lovejubileee I have clear skin now but I am still very acne prone. Also I can't use things like essential oils or my face will break out for sure. I have sensitive skin as well. Thank you though.

You guys have inspired me to want to start hiking and getting out into nature more
🙏🏻🙏🏻 good stuff homie. Happy trails
Do it...it's incredible! Although I have never done a backpacking trip, I love to hike, canoe, and camp and there is nothing like it!
Well.. start today!
I like how Renee especially keeps it real! It’s awesome what you’re doing, experiencing the land through your body. I’m happy to hear how little energy is wasted on performing femininity! I’m also impressed and y’all’s sunscreen game! You seem to stay well and protected!
Happiness!
Spent 6 days without a shower, without worrying about anything! No deodorant, no soap. Wearing Merino makes all the difference.
❤️🔥
The wearing rain clothes while Norma clothes are getting laundered is one of the most clever tricks I’ve seen for through hiking
You guys are amazing!! I love watching your journey. The one product I’d recommend adding to your kit, is Dr.Bronners soap because it’s all natural and doubles as toothpaste/hair/body wash, and a little goes a long way. Happy hiking!
toothpaste?? really? that sounds interesting lol I’d never think to use it for that
Been using Dr Bronners for almost 40 years! Not too good as toothpaste though.
Personally, I hate feeling grungy and make sure I have enough wipes and other things to stay clean.
Oh no ! After two months my legs would keep me warm with so much hair 😅
I was wondering about her period through this. I can't imagine having to do all that walking/hiking for months, while bleeding, and having cramps. My cramps are debilitating so I'm in bed the 1st day or medicated. I would never do this kind of a trip, but if I did, I would be taking a birth control that eliminated my period for those months.
I would think she has to bathe when she’s on her monthly. Omg I couldn’t image NOT. Never heard of a Menstrual cup
Not everyone cramps or bleeds alot. Thats me and some people do and its doesn’t keep them in bed. You just got the rough end symptoms of a cycle. 🤷🏼♀️
@@colecole4638 I assume you’re a man.
@@wonder12374 see! You are able to and some arent. I just don’t understand why everyone assumes every woman is the same like we are some packaged “vagina” and the instructions are set in stone. You go girl! I salute you!
@@colecole4638 A menstrual cup is worn inside the vagina and holds the menstrual blood inside you until you empty it out. It can be worn for up to 12 hours depending on your flow. Does a pretty good job of keeping everything neat and clean.
Lady, if I, as a woman, don't remove my facial hair for two months I'll look like your husband.😂
😂😂 I'd be bringing tweezers
That's so comforting to hear from another woman 😭same
Not to be a hater or anything but as a girl or woman you can’t possibly grow enough facial hair to look like a dude with a beard. And before you argue, woman don’t have the same facial hair hormones as males which doesn’t allow them to grow it out to far. 😊
I didn’t shave or pluck one November to participate in No-shave-ember. It was empowering to go around with my mini beard! Why do we, as a society, not accept women for who they are, body hair and all? I’m not fully there yet for myself, so the hairs were all plucked at the end of the month.
@@RainbowMama143 the second year of movement a girl friend and I grew me my movie and her her armpit hairs and we raised funds it was awesome fun and lots of people donated to the cause ❤️
You're lucky to have hair you can not brush for a month. I'm super envious. My hair is so curly that it becomes a tangled mess in like 2 days!
Mines thick and wavy give it ten minutes (I wish I was joking 😂)
i really would have expected hair to be super matted after that length of time hahaha. i chemically straightened my hair because it tangles almost immediately and even so, i use detangling spray and use a wet brush and only really brush my hair while it’s wet, after combing it when i condition it, it’s just past my hips so there’s a LOT of hair to detangle
Same here
I have curly hair too and I would literally have to shave my head if I didn't brush it for a month lol it also seems like it would make your head hurt bc it would be so tangled
Just had this conversion with my girlfriend. Really interesting. I have curly hair too but I can go a week easy without brushing (and I just use my fingers or a really wide toothed comb). Could probably go much longer too. I'll have minimal tangles that can be easily brushed out with just my fingers. My girlfriend also has curls and she can't go a day without brushing or I have to sit and help untangle all her knots. I wonder what the difference is. We both have chest length hair, similar curls. My hair is slightly thinner and she generally takes better care of hers
ありがとうございます!
Try Zote soap. It's multipurpose, cheap, and you can find many uses for it in the wild. Like a repellant, has citronella. Just quite big but it's light.
I know this ain't for me. I admire you guys so much
I love your Atra hiking shoes!
Braid your hair. Unscented baby wipes to clean the body.
"Me neither" brilliant 😂😂
If I hiked that far and didn’t brush my hair my hair would all be tangled on top of my head in one big knot. You are lucky your hair still looks nice haha! 😂
Not my kind of life......i love my shower and do want it at least 2 or 3 times a week....if im not working......im a nurse so i do have to shower daily to go to work and sometimes when i come home. Depends on where im working
Some great advice there guys - thankyou!
Thankyou you help quell the curiosities wen ur accustomed to certain creature comforts not found out in the wild world
Looking up a picture of the board made a lot of the guesses make more sense 😅
With just 2 of you walking I don't care if you even wear ANY perfume products or remotely glamorous. I'm sure you both are so comfortable that you manage as is! So cool
This is next level dedication. Love the transparency
Salt stick can be used for deodorant lasts over a year.
Your other hygiene video actually made me think of switching to a menstrual cup. Living in a country with a war going on, you gotta be secure with your life and needs, and for me it's a menstrual care as well. Also, I don't have as much camping/traveling experience, but you guys make such a helpful content, it's only sad that it might be used in such a terrible context
Be Careful and Safe! I feel for you and the people on both sides. I wish leaders of countries that want war would have to fight each other through Boxing, Martial Arts, MMA, or straight-up wrestling Best out of 5 Fights BEFORE they can start a WAR! If the aggressor loses, they can't start a WAR! Sounds good to me and the people of both countries would be spared the hostilities. and loss of life on both sides could be avoided!
I tried the menstrual cup, useless for me , as I had very heavy periods it needed tipping every 1.5 to 2 hours or it leaked , then rincing with clean water before re-using, it was a big bloody mess all the time.
Get a years supply of estrogen/progesterone combined pill, will stop your cycle until you choose to have it.(unless you're unlucky few it doesnt work for)
I would love to do this!!
Love all your content!
This is the life! I use baking soda for quick washes of both my essential body parts, tooth brush and undies. Easy to carry in a sandwich bag and little goes a long way! So jealous right now!
Oh wow! I love baking soda 🤩 lol. Just one more use to add to the list 👏🏽 My enthusiasm for baking soda is a little over the top 😂
Idk if someone has commented this or not before me but as someone who gets irritations to most natural deodorants I’ve found baking soda is a good solution. Figured it could help as a lightweight option if you guys ever wanted. :D
I appreciate that they can do this. I couldn’t take not washing for so long especially when you can’t wipe after going to the restroom and my hair is so curly I would look like I stuck my finger in a light socket after one night 😂
"Me neither!" & I'm OKay with that...
I wanna ask you a question what is the scariest thing that you ever saw in the wild
I seriously was about to google this info… but got distracted by shorts.. than 💥 here you are ❤
Y'all are living my dream 😍 i wish my fiance wasnt such a city slicker lol he can barely keep up with me on day hikes hahaha i wish he would do something like this with me!
I just love yall so much! #couplegoals
The beginning of this is like an infomercial lol
I’m curious about how intimate they are without having showered for a week and not changing clothes 🙄🤔
This was the comment I came to make, you put it WAY more delicately than I was thinking. Thank you for saying this in a much less savage way than I would have!
In their resupply video, they packed one condom. So I'm guessing that special time is after their weekly shower and it's one and done.
“Me neither” girl chilllll 😂😂
A little rag with a splash of hot water can do wonders toooo ❤
How much hand sanitizer/sunscreen do you guys go through each trail?
"I haven't shaved in over 2 months" ME NEITHER" WOWWWW
Have you noticed the url for this video? It ends in POO! It fits!
My hair grows so fast, if I didn't shave for a month I'd look like a sasquatch!
Please do a video on assessing water sourcing for flesh eating bacteria and red tides.
Don’t underestimate baby wipes. Helps with swamp ass after a #2 on a hot and sweaty day
People without soap are THE scented product 😂
yall do it to the extreme!! please come and hike in lapland if you two can someday. it is one of the planets most beautiful hikes!
Little tip, dry the toothpaste in a plate with glass cover under the sun and than cut daily portions of it.
Yup toothbrush/paste and i definitely can't do without floss and sunscreen are really all you need
The hair got me. You need to brush it daily and since you shower weekly you can wash it weekly. The rest is doable.
Not everyone needs to brush their hair believe it or not, it depends on your heritage/genes and the length/style of your hair. Also I'm sure they scrub their scalps occasionally when they take a dip in streams and wash it with soap once a week when they shower. There are MANY people that get itchy scalp and dandruff from washing their hair too much. They only use shampoo every other day or even once a week. They still wash it with water though. This is very common even for people not on the trail.
Microfiber towels are good for hiking stuff
I'm glad y'all make it work! Lol but I couldn't do it, my sensitive skin would be dying 😭
Travel towel is very light. Recommended rather than air dry😂
For some reason the grossest part of this to me is not brushing your hair. That’s the thing I’d have to do every day it makes me feel SO much cleaner
I don't brush mine and i ain't hiking! I just runy fingers through and tie it up. You cannot tell.
Thanks for answering number four! I was very curious. I didn’t think you guys would address it in the video so I was going to comment something about it as a question
This is such a well done short video.
Lol that’s me on a normal month with depression and burn out from working 80 to 100 hours a week.
Thats really great for your skin and hair actually c: i honestly prefer au natural typically 😊
She has the perfect body. You can totally tell these hiking adventures are doable on account of the muscle structure they both exhibit
perfect body? for hiking maybe?
I need more info on the cup girlie!!!! How do you wash your hands for removal/insertion and how do you keep the cup itself clean?
There are such things as unscented soaps + deodorants. No need to go savage.
You guys are living your life
That's awesome.... Enjoy your life... ❤️
This sounds like homelessness with extra steps and wifi
what a bloody flex
When filling up your water bottles in streams on the trail lookout for hippie shit. Basically the gist.
I wonder how she doesnt get matting in her hair while not brushing it for so long. I would personally cut my hair suuuuuper short for a trip like this
My curly hair could never
Wow wow, you guys are goals
i can smell this video
I've learned as long as you are smiling you can say some of the wildest things
Ok I get wanting to do what you love in life but not showering for a week or having personal hygiene for that long makes me shiver.
There is natural soap with no sense you know 😅.. its really small and you can cut in is even smaller pieces, its also good for shampoo use
Ok I’ve looked bed that lifestyle too but I still practiced hygiene…
"I haven't shaved in over 2 months"
*"Me neither"*
💀...
The most mind-blowing thing for me is the not brushing hair thing. I’m a dude with really long hair, and not brushing it for like 2 days results in a literal bird’s nest of tangles…
How you have you thought about a senseless organic deodorant like lume for both of you together and it would make you feel a little cleaner in between showers because it does last for up to 3 days just a suggestion
People are not against people. People are against being told what to think or say and against irrational nonsense. That’s it really.
Ok ok you guys have the life 💯❤
"me neither" 💀
Man my skin would be breaking out like crazy.
4 month outdoor adventure? I guess some people don’t have to go to work.
Cool! Nice way to say us a thing
For shaving, have you considered a straight razor? They're light and a strop is also lightweight. You can shave and you'd just have to be able to maintain the razor's edge
wow!
I would love to, but I couldn't :')
Wow, cool life!
I had to remind myself this is more of a hobby then anything else. Because at first I was like wait you guys go into town and shower and do laundry? And then I remembered you guys take your time and enjoy the journey and it's a hobby not a sport for you. I mean maybe a sport of endurance but being a hobby breaks are allowed it's not a race.
Honestly that sounds so fun, but painfully hard to follow
I’m glad you mentioned periods because that’s a big one for woman! Thank you 🙂
I really respect your transparency on how a hike really goes over time. Love you guys
They are SO informative and just darned LIKEABLE!!!!!!!
Really, no one talks about this stuff. The most I've seen so far is "duh cut your toothbrush in half to save weight" (even though you can buy a mini toothbrush kit for vacations). But no one wants to talk about anything "too gross" even though beginners need that information before they go out there confused.
@@-desertpackrat Yeah but it's gross to use hand sanitiser after a number 2 - it's not a substitute for soap and water, it isn't meant to be used after dealing with bodily fluids.
@@rogueuniversities6866there isn't a better option that doesn't severely hurt the environment.
Indeed, hand sanitizer helps in a pinch but does not replace washing with soap and water.
People don’t realize that you can chase money your whole life but never experience what these two have seen. I wish I could go back and work in the Tetons 😢
Don't they offer seasonal positions? I knew an older gentleman in his 70's that worked in state parks, he would do the seasonal jobs and then work at a cafe when it was off season. He tried to get me in on it, but I'm not as much of a fan of the outdoors 😅
ya bro we dont want to experience this stank ass way of life lmfaoo
Almost all of the rangers I see at national parks are older folks. Spending time in the wilderness is great no matter what age
But many people dont want to experience what these two have. It's like everyone forgets that.
Why can't you?
I would get pneumonia and an uti on the 2nd day. This is amazing
😂
Yeah fr if I don’t have clean dry undies (as in if i sweat a bunch I need to put on a new pair), I will get a UTI, infection, just misery.
Lmaoooo 😂😂😂
I don’t wear underwear unless I’m menstruating but my periods are absolutely miserable. I’d definitely need a break during that phase! I’d also carry a bar of soap 😂
I bet the shower feels amazing when they grab one though.
So would I. I probably would also catch a bad cold and a would get a bad reaction to mosquito bites.
I get that hygiene becomes quite primitive when out in the wild but I'd be so uncomfortable using sunscreen and not being able to wash it off, I hate the feel of it lol
I can only speak for myself in such situations, but I'd generally use a small dedicated towel rinsed and sutured with water, and remove it.
@@willek1335 does it work?
@@thatsthat2612 Oh yeah. Additionally: In those times of the year where I have to use sunscreen here in Norway, it's also warm enough to swim and clean myself in the numerous rivers and lakes. There's no restrictions on access here, except if the lake is used for drinking water. That's off course a regional thing, and not possible everywhere, but I'm sure the hikers in your area have ways to work around the dirt and sun screen issue. You're not alone in your concern.
@@willek1335 we have restrictions in England but half the time it's too cold to bother with sun cream lol. Ahh. Now this is the life. I loved living outside for months on end. Best. Feeling. Ever. So free. My favorite is how quickly the social norms go out the window. You realize how pointless they are. You tap into your more primal self. It is the best. I lived this way before cell phones were normal in every hand. Even the mail couldn’t reach me, and I remember absolutely loving that. Have fun!
Besides, no one actually cares anyway, what others are doing 😊

@@lazeyrz3805 My backcountry experiences were all 100% free because I was working as a scientist, and the trips were funded by research grants, minus the tent, backpack, sleeping pad and bag, field clothes, hiking boots, etc, which cost about $2000 to initially procure back in 2001. my first tent was a pretty crappy one that I bought at Walmart, but it worked for what I needed it to do.
