Part 1: Installation of the door handle
Quick video showing how to install a Kwikset entry door lever. These sets are all pretty similar and would be the same for a Schlage handle set or a Defiant entry door lever and deadbolt set.

Thanks. I’ve been trying to install new door handle and couldn’t figure out how to get the screws in past a metal cover till I saw you pop the shaft out to then pull off the cover. I could NOT figure that out and the instructions that came with it were of no help! What a headache. Took me like 1.5 hours to install the stupid thing because I did part of it backwards on the outside then the inside part 180 the wrong way. Ugh. I finally got it. Thanks for sharing.
So thats what that allen wrench is for, I was worried it was for a screw in side and the latch was going to fall apart. This looks door hanle set looks like the Kwickset I just got, now i got to find the top dead bolt video cause I didn't put that in yet., Good instruction video

Welp, I must've done something wrong cuz my door just pushes open even when it's locked. There's literally nothing stopping anyone from just walking into my room now. Not surprising since this is the usual result when I try to be handy. I'm good at a lot of things, but I'm definitely not gifted in the hardware department.
May i knw what kinda screwdriver are u using? Am looking for one like that but duno what it is called..
I'm your thumbnail yours has no holes but your actual product has holes..
Cover plate that’s between the handle and door should come off (Allen screw, invention, etc) Holes underneath the cover.

Mine has no holes for the long screws.. I don't understand.
I switched two doorknobs, only one had a lock and now that I put it where I wanted it the lock is all lose and won’t work, what do I do?
The loving Rat have you tried repositioning and then locking it with the Allen wrench, or if tightened then check all the parts that line up on the inside and check for a hole that needs locked with an Allen wrench. my door knob defiant model had that,,,the locking holes are tiny hint hint,,bottom line when a lock is loose something needs tightened or the parts are not perfectly aligned. Mine frustrated me to no end but when I got myself unfrustrated I took it apart then discovered these little quirks
