Black Belt Door Knob Sensei. You sir are a genius. I mean this in the highest respect. I've watched countless videos just to be left confused and full of anxiety. You explained this in your video in 5 minutes to where I could understand it and memorize it. I have PTSD. Still could understand it. Love & Respect from me and Lily 🐕 in Portland Oregon 💯
why can't i push the handle in, is loose can not stay tight in the chamber? one side is in but the button to lock it inside could not be push in tight in the handle, please i need to have the answer. thanks
I cannot get my rossette to twist on a door handle that is supposed to be R/L universal. The outside is for vacant/occupied and needs to be turned 180 degrees. Cant find a video on it either...help!!
Very helpful, been putting off a project because the instructions that came with the lock were about as easy to understand as gibberish to me. Never thought it was so simple!
The use of a 5/64ths centering hinge bit is recommended for those small screws holding in the latch. Also you should always be making good use of your drills clutch.
@@mitchellacoustical3119 it is a solid wood door its at a school .. think the hinge is a spring hinge... 2 bosses or loops off the door & on long boss or loop. Of the frame side .. like 2 .5 inches long ...looks just like the one your hanging but different hingeid all
@Mitchell Acoustical was attempting to put on of these in today. It was a locking one but the same mechanism. However, when I put the bolt in and got everything attached the bolt would not come all the way out. Any ideas.
Pat Walker do you mean the throat of the latch? My initial thought would be that it’s not set properly or there is a set back for the depth of the latch. It’s hard to explain, but may be an idea for a video.
Hey bud new sub .. on these types of handles first what are they called 🤔 lol & can fix them when they are saggy from both sides? Thx u much fir sharing your knowledge 👍
Thank you sir! You took a huge pain in the ass job and argument and turned it into a simple 5 minute project! My wife thinks im smart now! " Priceless!"
Absolutely! Yea I needed help when I was 1st installing these at an H&M and my foreman looked at me crazy when I said I didn’t know how, so he took the time to help me. Glad I could pass that along!
Thanks for the vid, we have a loose knob at the office and I wasn’t sure how to get to the screws to tighten it. What did you say the tool was to remove the handle?
Those are on the list of videos to do, we just have to have doors to put them on. A panic set hasn't came out in a while, but we'll get around to one shortly with a dealership were working on
How do you get it OFF??? YOU TALK ABOUT A PIN KEY, WHAT IS THAT CAN'T SEE IT IN THE VIDEO. MINE IS ALREADY MOUNTED ON THE DOOR AND UNABLE TO GET IT OFF!
We start everyone out at $25 for a probation period to show thier skills then after a month or so we can evaluate the value. We have guys in the upper $40s, so we do pay decent wages.
25$ starting and up to 40$!! Wow!! Took me 5 years to get to 21$ and they top us out at 25$. Looks like I need to start looking for a new commercial door job. Lol
Arent you supposed to screw the holding guide separately from the mounting plate?

How do you take it back apart? We didn't install it so no directions or included tools were left.

Have you used the pin to get the lever off and then turned the rossette? One side will be the side the two bolts go thru to connect the back plate

is door handle better for soundproofing?
I got to install this shit tomorrow At work I didn’t know how thanks for the video!!!
Also do you have a vid 👀 on how to adjust a saggy top corner door ? These exact commercial commercial grade ones? Appreciate 🙏 cha
I’m wondering with this, and your other comment, is the door you’re asking about an aluminum/glazing door rather than a hollow metal?

What if the actual latch is too long for the stock door? It sticks out far too much
If only the one I had to install today was this simple 😭😭😭

2:54 great view
Great videos, I wish I had access to this material years ago. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Its really appreciated!

My guess is that the handle is just worn out. Or you can take off the lever and try and tighten the screws and see if that works.
What is the difference between passage lock and dummy lock?
Thanks for the video, but you need close up of some parts of the video to be rally usefull.
what tool do you use to make the 2 holes above and below the main hole?
There is a jig that makes them, but most times our door mfg does that for us before the slab is shipped to the jobsite.
Will a paper clip work to get the lever off?
You can try, sometimes they can be brutal on the finger to push in the hole
@@mitchellacoustical3119 yeah dude, show that brutal part and give some tips, you literally cut that part of the video out
I’m working on a knob right now and the catch isn’t corresponding with the keyhole side.
my door getting auto look from outside.. from inside it is working fine., can i able to repair it

Randy Travis we’ve got some more door videos in the pipeline, so stay tuned👍
How much is that doorknob?
now how does the handle come off if/when we have to replace the assembly??
Mine has a key hole lock, I get to the end where I attach the last latch and the other side stays locked even when you turn the key. Any suggestions
how do you take the level off?
precisely! they cut that part out because he had trouble and then didn't show how to overcome that hurdle
Lever?, its pretty much the first thing he does

How do you get a new one to match old key?
What size is this? I got one but it too small how do I know the correct size?
This is a typical level set. They should all be the same size. Unless you have security hardware on it.
Thanks for the vid, we have a loose knob at the office and I wasn’t sure how to get to the screws to tighten it. What did you say the tool was to remove the handle?
Hey do closers and panic bars installation

What means of commercial Here.?
Your awesome man great way to explain it simple and easy appreciate it big dawg they setup these doors like booby traps lol thanks man
The door hardware can be used for a gun/trigger mechanism.
Open bolt
How do you get it OFF??? YOU TALK ABOUT A PIN KEY, WHAT IS THAT CAN'T SEE IT IN THE VIDEO. MINE IS ALREADY MOUNTED ON THE DOOR AND UNABLE TO GET IT OFF!
The pin hole is opposite of the lever. You turn the key 45 push in the pin and pull off.
what if you lost the pin that releases the handle?
Maybe a thumbtack?
Large paperclip or small screwdriver pushed into hole works just fine. No special tool required.
Gr8 video. Gr8 information. Thanks.
You save me. Thanks so much.
Glad we could help

You skip a step, two screws go into the housing before putting on the trim
Just saved my ass! Thank you
Nice
Ok video...... but you should take a locksmith course.
Carpenter by trade. No need to be a locksmith to install a lockset.
