- In this video I show you how to change out a leaking pinion seal on my Dana 30 in my TJ. This process applies to many different axles on many different makes and models. This way requires no adjusting preload. The new pinion seal was one I got from my local auto parts store and it was under $10. Thanks for watching.

Curious many don't mark nut but torque to 200 to 225 ft lbs, in my case a Dana 44. In your opinion is there a difference?

You need to wash under there, lol.
That thing is called a yoke.. not the pinion..

@squatchfromearth4076 No, just a yoke. Or a input yoke. 🤣
This is sad. Filty work area, didnt clean anything, grime on everything. Jarred around the yoke seal with grime on it knocking dirt into the pinion bearings, didn't inspect yoke for wear where seal rides. Yuck. Tork? Preload? It a LP 30. No new crush sleeve? Oh lord.
