- Except little bit embarrassed transmission, this car is really very nice. It has great steering response, quick chassis and nice balance in corners. It's also quiet and it has 4 cylinder engine, which by itself is today's sweetspot!

Did you drive previous version of this Clio? If so, what would you say about soundproofing? I'm really considering getting this new Clio, but I know the old one was a bit noisy after 100km/h, is it better in 2020 version?

hi mate I own a RS line 1.3.. My previous Clio was a Clio GT 1.2... It features a MUCH BETTER soundproofing experience on both driver and passenger seat. Give it a test drive in your local retailer

What do you think about the engine and the EDC gearbox?
I have seen the power and torque curves of this engine and it has a very nice torque at low rpm compared to the 100hp version or similar cars. However, some people complain about the EDC gearbox saying that it is slow and can give problems in the the mid/long term. What do you think?
wizard70001 it’s not the best gearbox on market honestly... It’s slow with downshifts after release throttle pedal. Upshifts are enough quick. I’d choose manual, if there was option with this stronger engine... But the engine is phenomenal, and you can change gears manually, so it’s up to you at the very and of the day. :)))
@@muldix Yeah, I read a review a month ago and the guy had the same idea. The engine is great but the gearbox is a bit lazy with downshifts. Probably because the control system of the gearbox is designed to behave like that and you can't have an aggressive or sport driving feeling. You have to play a bit with the break to force the gearbox to change but the general idea is fine. I'd choose manual with this engine but they don't give the option. The only thing you can do to get a similar torque/power with a manual gearbox would be the 115 hp diesel engine.
@@wizard70001 I own the car and drive it manual in paddle shifts. The car is amazing that way, leave automatic shifting only for the city

I like both the Clio and 208 but i ended up going for the Pug, I prefer its 8spd auto over the Clio's fussy dual clutch aswell as the 3 pot turbo imo has a nicer sound and more character to it and i think it looks cooler. but this is just my view again i think both are great cars so enjoy whichever one you prefer.
did you test them both before purchasing?
@@ravenheart369 I did, while I did notice an improvement with the dct in the new Clio over the old one its still not as smooth as the 8 spd auto in the Pug, Both are really good cars but the Peugeot's imo more refined transmission won me over.

Shifting gears: 5500
Not because the redline is at 6500 u got all power to this RPM.... 95% of car After 5700 the HP down instant...
So disappointed that this is the largest engine. They should do a 200 version of this.
I prefer clio than 208
Love this Clio! Was between this one and the 208.. Ended up going with the Clio. Think it can reach beyond 200km/h on straight? As in 205-210?
Yes, it can easily go faster than 200...
Honestly, I think 220 wouldn't be a problem.

Pedro Proença Relvas yes! Honestly the gearbox is a bit better in 208. In Clio you are more often switching to manual mode, due to some unlogical gear changes. But from complex point of view, Clio is simply better car!
@@muldix Funny enough I'm interested in driving via paddle shift so that's a no problem from me! Automatic just for traffic!

@@muldix I guess you need navigation for that option to be included in digital cockpit? I was thinking to spare here a little bit cuz Google maps probably work better, but not sure.. Btw. did you maybe have chance to test TCE 100 version also and could you compare them (acceleration, consumption) if you have?

a pseudo Renault Sport with a 130 hp engine is just a pale copy of the Clio RS IV or the RS IV TROPHY which have respectively 200 and 220 hp !!
This is not a Reanult Sport model, it's just a RS line. Renault Sport model is not released yet.
funny thing is, the new 140 ps clio 5 has more NM than clio 4 RS 😂 but ofcourse 60 ps less..

Much nicer than 208 by the look. But I will go with an Polo 1.0 115. It is both faster, smoother and more silent at higher speeds. ;)
