    You just saved that customer a small fortune if they had gone to a main dealer they would have been stumped and thrown lots of new parts after 5 or 6 visits with no success. (looks like we are in for further education from O"rileys Autos in 2024)👍

    brilliant job as normal jimmy, nice to see an honest mechanic do his trade, the problem with all garages 1 they dont know what they are doing
    2 all they are interested in is getting paid fixed or not
    3 most of the time they will get one of there apprentices on the job unsupervised, and they dont know what they are doing aswell
    4 apprentice or mechanic cannot be bothered to put the parts back on correctly, but thank god there are people like you around..
    i would have thought jimmy you might have had a secondhand glow plug in your van and a quick change on cylinder 4, i think maywell have been appreciated...

      Customer didn't want to spend the money on Glow plugs. It's not a quick change on these. Manifold and egr need to be removed first

    I recently took out a DPF from a Corsa, and was surprised the about of back pressure it generates even after cleaning. No wonder it had to replace the turbo some moths earlier as some noticeable blow by coming from the pcv valve.

    Hi Jimmy, I’m always impressed by your knowledge and straight forward approach to getting a problem sorted, oh how I wish you weren’t so far away. I use a 15 plate 2.2 Transit Custom with 110k on the clock for local journeys, I have no faults as such but it seem to be trying to re gen quite often given how few miles I do, do you think it would it be wise to do a Launch dpf clean as maintenance as opposed to cure?? Thanks for the videos, keep up the good work, Simon

    Hello!
    The dpF filter was replaced with an aftermarket one, and the Vaporizer unit was replaced twice. The repair was done at an official Ford service. However, when it comes to regeneration, very strongly from smoke or the end is low temperature.
    But sometimes the temperature reaches 550C" - 610C", but cools down and smokes again. Maybe someone encountered a similar error? The service is clueless, or they would put the old DPF filter back. Transit Custom 2.2, 2016. Thanks in advance for your help!

    • @m73zoli
      @m73zoli Рік тому

      Yes, I also reserve the right to treat aftermarket parts. but the interesting thing here is how it is when you have the temperature, from which I would think that the aftermarket filter is not necessarily at fault.@@MrByootox

      Now it was time to put back the original DPF filter. Well, that's how it turned out that the aftermarket filter can't be used. Only occasionally could it heat up above 500"C. The factory knew the right temperature right away.@@MrByootox

    Jimmy, what do you think about DPF & Exhaust cleaner additives similar to the fuel injector cleaners gasoline additives? Will they work like the spray gun cleaner? I currently have a 2020 RAM 2500 showing an Exhaust Pressure of 100 kPa. The truck still runs great but has the check engine light on.

    I have a 2.2 transit custom 2015 that have been to three garages and all 3 have put new injectors seals in it but very time a month or so later the smoke starts again and the pressure in the oil cap pushing the oil out everywhere. Could this dpf filter thing be making the back pressure to push the injectors loose . Not sure if they're getting any code but no light on the dash

    Autel or Launch, which do you prefer? The Launch has become very expensive recently, even compared to Autel and, dare I say it, Snap-on! Snap-on support seems the best but is the most expensive, naturally, with their franchise system and local resellers.

    Issue I’m facing.
    Completed a full dpf clean so that I have 0 grammes of soot, pressure is spot on etc.
    I then told the computer I have replaced the dpf sensor.
    After doing all this, I have knocked my battery voltage down to like 10.98v. Now getting P2452 (dpf sensor circuit).
    Can someone please allow me to sleep tonight and tell me that the battery needs either replacing or at least charging to ensure the sensor is actually ok and my dpf issue is fixed and this is now and electrical issue 😅

      Is it a Ford? If so sometimes you have to generate a different dtc by disconnecting the sensor, or other and then you're able to delete the code.
      Put a charger on the car and reset the relearn procedure.

    • @BH-tp3pm
      @BH-tp3pm Рік тому

      @@danielpantazescu7720 thanks so much for replying. It’s actually a Range Rover.
      I’ve never had this code before only when I told the car I have a new sensor after a full clean.
      I will still follow this procedure to generate a different fault and clear then run the “new dpf sensor” bit on my obd

      @@hadiamrane just to update. No issues with the car this morning.
      Had a good hour long drive up and down a roads, some urban and 5-10 mins motorway. No faults appeared.
      My only other conclusion is that the initial forced regen of the dpf caused errors in the temperature settings or something for the dpf sensor to get an accurate reading.
      I will continue to monitor.
