ABBAMAN... If Abba have continued down this road of Glam Rock style I still would have bought their music. There's a lot of diversity and I so much appreciate them for trying so many different styles until they found their signature style.😊❤
This is another example of ABBA doing Glam Rock which was in full swing in the U.K. when the songs on this album were written. Very reminiscent of songs by The Sweet. Just shows how adaptable ABBA are as a group.
This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO goood! ABBAs hardest song together with Hey Hey Helen...LOVE it...its metal ABBA but still with all the good stuff that we have in the softer songs of ABBA..the pop, funk and disco songs of ABBA...thats one of many reasons why ABBA never can be beaten by any other band or solo artist. They were versatile enough to do greatness in any music genre..I like all of the ingredients of this hard rock song, the drums, the super guitars,I wonder if I ever heard better guitarplay then in this one,the great vocals of Björn here, the melody,...the girls vocals..all of it..I LOVE it..
I have not heard this song for over 40 years and I loved your reaction as it almost mirrored my own. 🤣. If it was not for the girls' voices, you wouldn't know it was Abba.
One of their best early tracks! I've always loved it! I was very into Sweet and glam rock in the early seventies - and this song easily fits into the glam rock category. The bass is epic! And I love the "Ooh la la la"s :)
Exactly what you said David it doesn't SOUND like ABBA ,and that my friend is why the world adore them and love their music.Never boring always brave to try new ideas and execute them brilliantly and we enjoy these gifts they give us.This song gives us glam rock, think of SWEET,KISS,SLADE and the like ,well ABBA with this song have been there, done that ,another facet of these beautiful DIAMONDS that are ABBA.Oh by the way this is the best reaction by you for an ABBA song so far the facial expressions, the out of chair experience you achieved the sheer suspension of belief in your eyes, you were an absolute joy to behold and still we have a long VOYAGE ahead much, much more to come ,life has only just begun in your journey through ABBA.
I have so been looking forward to your review of this song. I love it probably because it is so unexpected (as you said). I like the ‘la la la’s. They are just another twist in this song. Looking forward to the next review. Don’t leave it too long! 😊
The Lalala is exactly what makes this great song so special, indeed! Without it could maybe be another glam rock song just like any other. It is disrupting, yes, yet so fit and ABBA-esque! Love the whole of it!
Great opening there Giventoe with your version of lay your subscriptions on you! Brilliant singing there!! 👏👏. Going onto the song, well again, another great use of guitar 🎸, then drums. A great rock theme. Bjorn again lead vocals, and great back from the girls!! Different as it’s like a screaming backing but nevertheless, brilliant performance by the girls. The ending was amazing with the explosion sound effects 😮, would never have thought that would happen in a song, but yet again if anyone can make this happen it would be ABBA!!! Love it 😍 well done ABBA….❤
Goodness, an ABBA song I don't know???? I grew up with ABBA and never heard this. Very cool. Thanks for showing this. I guess after I finished your Sabaton and Tommy list now I have to check out your ABBA list😃👍
It is not a typical ABBA song, but what was really typical at that time for them? I like it, of course. The whole album is unpredictable and each song is different. I like that about their earlier albums.
I love this song as I love King Kong, as I love dancing queen, as I love don't shut me down ...ergo,I love everything abba has done...love you're reactions my friend....Ireland...
I always enjoyed this song, and as a kid I used to love to play it and show friends that they were a cool band, such a fun track.. along with the ooo la la la 🤩✌️😎🎼
I dont know if Björn ever sounded as good as he did in this song, and I love his vocals in all ABBA songs that he had both lead and background vocals on,and it was quite many. He totally chrushed here. LOVE IT!
They seem to have this pattern on their albums back then. A lot of their songs sounded Abba others didn’t. I think they were still finding the heart of what we know as abba. First heard this on the early 80s as I started so amass all things abba after getting super trooper for Christmas in 82. Didn’t even know who they were yet. But after 40 years of listening to them it all becomes abba, just different songs.
ABBAMAN... Great reaction and I'm sure very unexpected to your ears I really enjoy the first two albums because they are so diverse and the songs are so different. Abba was trying to find their signature sound and they did that on the next album from 1975 the first two albums they were still kind of Glam Rock and I enjoy those songs as much as their signature classics by the way I like the ooh la la part LOL they just was throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what's stuck but the production and quality of the songs are great next up is what about Livingston which is a little odd song but the next one after that is going to sing you my love song which is wonderful so you got a couple more different songs to react to just strap on your seatbelt for the ride of your life. Love watching your journey through Time discovering the magic of ABBA!
I already hit that thumbs up before the video even started. Just knew this was going to be priceless. (My reaction to this song was the same) Rock on brother. 😎🤘
Seriously I look forward to your reactions there is no one else out there who gives such authentic reactions. Watch out is definitely the experimental stage and actually this song is cool 🙏
@@GivenToe my pleasure I hope you go onto abba the album where music really progresses thanks again for such good honest reactional feedback keep up the good work 🙏
LOL,Oh come on we had warned you this is a 'hard' one.Maybe their hardest they've done.Love that harsh guitar riff, the bass, the girl's 'terror' backing vocals and Bjorn's 'agressive' lyrics and 'savage' lead on this, pretending to be some kind of a stalker. It's 10 out of 10 for me.
You can really tell with the whole Waterloo album that ABBA were trying to appeal to a much wider audience outside Sweden….but in so many ways they didn’t quite know which market they wanted to reach. This and the title track with their more glam rock sound were totally for the UK, where glam rock was huge and bands like Slade, The Sweet, early Roxy Music and early Bowie were burning up the charts. But then other songs were absolutely more mainland European in their influence. I kind of love how they were willing to try so many different styles with this album. They definitely got into their pop groove later on, but some of these early tracks are brilliant. Whenever I play ABBA songs to show how diverse they were, I always play this song, then play Dancing Queen, then play The Visitors
I've just compiled a Playlist on a Spotify.. ABBA ROCK. I have about 15 or so of their more ROCK songs. Absolutely amazing...some of them brilliant but lesser known.
Your expressions GivenToe were again so funny. Not one of my favourites but It shows the different styles they were experimenting with in the early days. Such an underrated group, not scared to try rock with songs also like King Kong Song & Hey Hey Helen. Love your reactions, greetings from Australia.
So you finally reached this one. I was so anxious about Watch out as I was for Dance and My Mama Said. The Waterloo was definitely a "discovering" for the ABBA sound as a group and a discover for new ABBA fans. While Ring Ring was too raw, Waterloo seems like ages ahead from the last one in terms of production. More polished tracks, vocal and instruments layers, and so many details that makes this album very special! BUT there are three songs left.. can't wait to watch your next reactions. There's a looooong way to the end (of the discography).. wish you done it quickly, but don't get me wrong, I do know you have a LIFE.. sorry dude... anxiety make us say this kind of sht 😂😂😂
It was also the b-side of their single "Waterloo". If you bought that back then for their victory song and you played the b-side you were indeed surprised. But all in all this is a great song. Think they were still looking for what eventually had to become the real Abbasound. But will definitely never skip this song when playing the "Waterloo" CD. Oh yes, I also want to mention that you are doing a great job. Always look forward to seeing your reviews. Well done man.
Firstly, ' Don't go wasting your Subscription!'🤣😂 Secondly, never, EVER try to fathom the Abba versatility David..just go with the magical flow. I love, LOVE this song. It's almost primal! Just goes to affirm the fact, that Abba were and are the most
diverse band still. ( pressed the send button too early again) 😝 The next song on the album is completely different. Love your smile growing bigger as the song went on.😃 By the way, how woukd Tommy rework it? Wouldn't THAT be cool?! Take care! Ciao bello! 🤗😎
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was waiting for this reaction! I knew you would like it and be so surprised... I got the Waterloo single when I was 6 and this was the B-side. Too much for a child! What was it?? I'm not a rocker but I like it. There must be a single rock cell in my body ignited by this song. What I don't like at all is Björn trying to sing like the AC/DC singer, but that's saved by the "la la la" of the girls....😉 Thank you for making me laugh again! 😊
They are just the best aren’t they? So much variety in their music. I love it, especially the end explosion 💥, Dynamite 🧨😆. I do like the ‘ooh ah la las’ though 🥰
I enjoyed your reaction more than I enjoyed the song! Well, at least the first time I heard it - my ears had very simple and soft taste back then. But now? Yeah, love it. It's one of the totally unexpected songs they did now and again just to keep the fans on our toes.
I heard this song a long time ago and stumbled across it on UA-cam a few months ago. It's quite a departure from their normal style, for sure, but I like it as well. It might be considered repetitive by some, but I consider it a hidden gem. I would love to hear a re-worked version.
This song is light years away from The Day Before You Came, and yet, I absolutely love it. And the reason is, that it`s so NOT ABBA. Fantastic song and sound. Only the ooh-lal-lal-la sounds like it has something to do with a band called Abba. So good.
Denna är sååå bra kan lyssna på den om o om igen 🤩❤ Det skulle inte vara fel att dra på denna i en cab på sommaren om man nu hade en cab nu får man lyssna gående 😂
so nice to see your ABBA Journey "Watch Out" It's the B-side of the glorious single "Waterloo" honestly this is one of the songs that is clearly among the ones I don't like about ABBA for me it is just 4pts and hopefully at the same level as King Kong song and others on this album decidedly I like almost nothing in it In my opinion, Waterloo is the most uneven ABBA album, it would barely exceed 5pts, but the star song Waterloo (10pts) raises the average to 6pts but it is logical, it is their first album as official ABBA; they are still looking for their style, here very influenced by glam rock that's why I'm looking forward to your release of the self-titled album "ABBA", a remarkable leap in quality of their fantastic career but that's not why I stop seeing your reactions, which are very good, it's included moreover, I had the impression that you were going to like it a lot, and I was not mistaken I wait for your next reaction, I leave you a big hug from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South America
I believe Waterloo is very polished, as Ring Ring was so raw in terms of production. Waterloo is quite good and enjoyable (there are few gems), as ABBA were discovering their sound and evolved production, sound engineering, vocal and instrumental layers. Certainly the next album shows a proper ABBA that remained to the "end".
@@rrpk In my taste I don't see it that way Even with some skippable tracks, I prefer the "Ring Ring" album (much more even) to the "Waterloo" album. I like the greater purity in the album "Ring Ring" more than the greater production and dominance of glam rock in the album "Waterloo" but that is the value of differences of tastes and opinions, and respecting them thank you for your observation best regards
So it could be the sister song of Under Attack. Watch Out is the song from the point of view of the stalker and Under Attack the song from the point of view of the girl.
I know I know 😂 I think it might be a generational thing Im not sure 😅 But on the other hand, it made it ”ABBA” so probably couldnt do without it either 😁🔥
When Jimi hendrix was in Stockholm in the late 60s/early 70s he stayed in Janne Schaffers apartment. Janne Schaffer is the leadguitarist on this song. Janne talked about in a musicdocumentary I saw on TV
Ok, your video, err... your sneaky fast facial movements is what got me into choosing your reaction video from the long list of (reaction ABBA, last 4 weeks) filtered search. Yeah! you seemed to point to a short fun time... But, BUT I was NOT prepared for the wild ride and obviously subtle shame you did on yourself while at it🤣 You obviously manage your charm looks and almost made me take you for a cute video guy just like that for some minutes. But this shot you chose betrayed you in the best way. It was min 4:48 that did it: yes the beat and the riffs are good, but you are genuinely enjoying yourself those seconds. You rock, like rocking yourself into submission, while riding the whole instrumentation and who knows what else from the set, you are in. So I could not but laugh when you caught yourself saying "not those lala lah" and by the second time those pre-choruses come in, you had already absorbed the girls secondary vocals in the "watch aaauts" chorus complete with their note changes and ecstatic aural treatment... which release the bass ostinatos augmented by the...yes! perfect U la la laas. Your analysis recount didn't acknowledged it yet and wouldn't guess your still position or not. Besides that, or more so because of, you are a fucking genius or so comes out to me in many ways. One for instance is the fact that with your background, having been able to intake and express this, with this music and group, in this way...makes you quite unique and a pioneer in my prophecies unwritten handbook. BravoO!
@@christianoazzuro6711 In the next three songs of that album he can recover a bit from this one. 😄 Though "What About Livingstone" also has a nice bass line. 😀
This, My Mama Said, Hey Hey Helen, Intermezzo #1, and a few others, were proof that ABBA really should have done more metal/glam. "Is that an explosion?" No, just a tape recording of a thunderclap. If you listen, you can hear the rain falling.
ABBAMAN... If Abba have continued down this road of Glam Rock style I still would have bought their music. There's a lot of diversity and I so much appreciate them for trying so many different styles until they found their signature style.😊❤
ABBA were so versatile. They are unique !!! ❤❤❤❤
As a kid in the 70's had "Waterloo" on 45, flipped it over and found this! 70's Glam Rock at its best!
Nice surprise 😎
It's an ABBA rock banger alright, kinda hits you between the eyes.
..'.kinda hits you between the eyes'..🤩totally!💥

Björn singing a bit like Marc Bolan (T-Rex)
Some hate it,some love this..Danceable glamrock, the Abba way.Guitar riff to this, is a lil killer and becomes unsuspiciously addictive.I love it.
Loved it!
I think Lenny Krawitz use the gitarriff in one of his song. There is a meshup some were on youtube
@@hakanlennholm3331Yes i also read that observation from a couple of other fans though i don't know if it was a coincidence or intentional.

Love beat but stunned if didn't know ABBA wouldn't was. Can't make up my wether like it not.
This song is light years away from The Day Before You Came, and yet, I absolutely love it. And the reason is, that it`s so NOT ABBA.
Fantastic song and sound. Only the ooh-lal-lal-la sounds like it has something to do with a band called Abba. So good.
Thunderstorm ending 🎉
so nice to see your ABBA Journey
"Watch Out"
It's the B-side of the glorious single "Waterloo"
honestly this is one of the songs that is clearly among the ones I don't like about ABBA
for me it is just 4pts and hopefully
at the same level as
King Kong song and others on this album
decidedly I like almost nothing in it
In my opinion, Waterloo is the most uneven ABBA album, it would barely exceed 5pts, but the star song Waterloo (10pts) raises the average to 6pts
but it is logical, it is their first album as official ABBA; they are still looking for their style, here very influenced by glam rock
that's why I'm looking forward to your release of the self-titled album "ABBA", a remarkable leap in quality of their fantastic career
but that's not why I stop seeing your reactions, which are very good, it's included
moreover, I had the impression that you were going to like it a lot, and I was not mistaken
I wait for your next reaction, I leave you a big hug from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South America

In my taste I don't see it that way
Even with some skippable tracks, I prefer the "Ring Ring" album (much more even) to the "Waterloo" album.
I like the greater purity in the album "Ring Ring" more than the greater production and dominance of glam rock in the album "Waterloo"
but that is the value of differences of tastes and opinions, and respecting them
thank you for your observation
best regards
Thank you so much Eduardo! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🔥🔥😂😁
It's also one of my favourites of them...it's about a stalker being obsessed with a girl. This one you have to crank up!
So it could be the sister song of Under Attack. Watch Out is the song from the point of view of the stalker and Under Attack the song from the point of view of the girl.
Yeah I really love it!
Wow really? Awesome!
@@GivenToe It's just my thoughts about the songs. I don't know if there is an intended connection between them. 🙂
You don't like the "oo la la la" s? Come on David, it's the GIRLS! 😁
I know I know 😂 I think it might be a generational thing Im not sure 😅 But on the other hand, it made it ”ABBA” so probably couldnt do without it either 😁🔥
This song sounds A Lot like Jimi Hendrix. 🎶🖤😎🎶
But, BUT I was NOT prepared for the wild ride and obviously subtle shame you did on yourself while at it🤣
You obviously manage your charm looks and almost made me take you for a cute video guy just like that for some minutes.
BravoO!
Well thank you! 😅😅🙏🏻
Don't say I haven't warned you 😁
Yes we did!lol!
@@christianoazzuro6711 In the next three songs of that album he can recover a bit from this one. 😄 Though "What About Livingstone" also has a nice bass line. 😀
@@Lisa-M I love What About Livingstone! 🤣, surprisingly my second most played song from that album after Honey Honey 👀
@@Smgs-ue7tj I also like this song. 😀 I'm curious for the reaction. I think it will be the first reaction ever to this song.
hahahaha
This, My Mama Said, Hey Hey Helen, Intermezzo #1, and a few others, were proof that ABBA really should have done more metal/glam.
"Is that an explosion?"
No, just a tape recording of a thunderclap. If you listen, you can hear the rain falling.
You are right! 😁
Älskar denna!! Vill bara ha party och dansa som fan 😂😂
Exakt XD
😃😍👍😅

When you give a livestrwam soon i have something to tell you that you would hardly believe , my friend
Oh really? Sounds exciting! 😁
We need a Tommy cover of this one! 😉
That would be something wouldnt it? 😎
It's Glam Pop Rock, maybe? Whatever the label, it really speeds up your heart beat.
Sure does!
I WANNA SE YOU REACTIONS OF ABBA SONGS IN SPANISHH 😍😍
To be continued 😎
Benny & Bjorn don't think much of it. They think only the drum section added by of one their trusted session musicians saves it.
Really? They underestimated the power pf themselves 😅😅😅
