We saw him in Annapolis and my kids got me tickets to his show at Wolf Trap. He is the perfect showman. His voice is still great! His sister is another wonderful talent and they have a killer band! Great show and tribute. He is an incredibly sweet man, as well. Thank you for my childhood joy of music!

Micky has always had such a happy disposition. Grateful for all his blessings. Remember them on tv as child. Loved them!

Great interview. Katie. I have not heard of AXS TV before, but you are lots of fun as a host. It is so good to see Micky as happy and positive in the way he remembers Davy, Peter, and Mike. Not lamenting their loss. I don't think Micky fully understands the happiness the Monkees brought to so many. But it looks like he is embracing it.

Micky had the perfect rock n roll voice for the hits of the Monkees. I'm just a steppin' stone, etc. David Jones had a voice like David Gates and perfect for his songs. But Micky's voice made the Monkees.

This interview is MUCH more of what I like to see of the man being himself.
I've always had a problem with Micky because he'd always be ON and over-the-top affected. It was difficult to get around the stupid voices, the corny jokes that went stale in the 1950s, and, if interviewed with others, his constant and hyper interrupting. (There's one interview, circa 2010, that I swear Peter was ready to tell off Dolenz to "SHUT THE F* UP!")
It seemed to take a long time but he's nicely mellowed.

Obviously Micky and Mike had a very close relationship. He gave Mike much credit for Headquarters when in fact, Mike said that Peter was the one who really helped bring that album to fruition. He did so even after acknowledging that he and Peter never liked each other at all.

Super cringey interviewer - but I guess it's era appropriate - that super fake enthusiasm of the 70's/80's VJs...

I literally stopped watching at 0:22 because of said "enthusiasm". 😆
