After uploading, I realized what I had seen was this video talking about an MRG version of this G-SHOCK square. Yet to be released. ua-cam.com/video/d5ONdfkPcyI/v-deo.html
One of my beater watches and is scratched to f@@k from work, really aimed at g shock enthusiasts who want something different on the wrist and can still treat it as a g shock, that's the way I look at it
if you can afford it, buy it, you won't regret it. I have it and I am satisfied with its classic look but all Steel. Minus the mineral glass, maybe need to put in sapphire glass. Anyway old school ⌚️.
Thanks for review. I have 5 G-shock squares and recently ordered this one. Resin really has its advantage because it hardly get scratches at all and it requires some sharp hard object to be scratched. And as you say, metal has the drawback that it will be scratched more or less after a while. But I like the design with a G-shock in metal with a bracelet with clasp like with a dress watch. A fully metal version will be a nice addition to the collection!
Have a GSTB400 cost's about $800au. I use it for work and don't care if it gets knocked about or scratched; simply because I buy a G-Shock to be able to handle the crap, I don't buy it to sit at home. Will properly get one of these eventually as well as now they are pretty cheap new. Maybe for Christmas. 🤔🤔
Looks awesome but bit hefty in price. For me the half metal is where its at. The metal case and good quality silicone strap is the perfect balance imo.
I just got this one used but like new. I want the rose gold all metal. But not paying full price. I will do the same thing that I did with this one. Find a used one in excellent condition.
Great video, i really like this watch a lot but im just not sure on the high polish on the lugs/links next to the case, i so wish it was brushed, i do like a bit of polished SS here and there but i think thats a bit too much, thanks for the video 👍🏻
I just got the red version and am really digging it. For some reason tho it’s supposed to be heavier than some of the other models I have it does feel as heavy/noticeable on wrist for me. I’d be fine with having it as an everyday watch but if I planned on doing manual/very physical work I’d rather have a the half metal version (I really like the look of the blue one) or one of the U models neither of which I own atm but would probably snatch in a heartbeat.
Yeah I know. I feel those are targeting a different consumer segment at 3K, 4K, and above. Of course amount of people willing to spend that much on a G-Shock is far less than these 500$ models. Thanks for the comment!
Hey I still own this watch! In a more general sense, when I buy a watch and am initially happy with it but later, I no longer feel the same excitement for wearing it, it becomes a candidate for sale. Sometimes I regret it.
I've been careful to never judge how people choose to spend their own money. I chose the affordable segment in order to experience a greater variety of watches. I can understand though how someone would want to opt for one or two carefully chosen 5-10K watches

Yeah - the GMW-B5000G-2 is a great watch for sure.

There are certainly values to be had by purchasing pre-owned. Some of my favorite watches I got pre-owned.

Got mine 10 days ago for 340 euros, in Romania. Im tired of smartwatches and Garmin.
Regular price? Or discounted?
@@msp459 permanent discount in the last few years. It was 600 or 500 euros when it was released.

You have a point. But my Garmin Fenix has a flashlight. It's hard to let it go
@@msp459 its the new price in the last 2 years.
This makes zero sense to me, as G-Shock is supposed to be a purely practical beater. However I really, really want one. It's just too cool.
You could still beat on it 🔨 😅
@@watchify1775 Indeed, but who would want to?

Yeah, all that polishing does attract a lot of attention.

This is not even close to their Hi-end line, try MRG and MTG.

Does anyone’s light on their watch blink red before turning off?
I've never seen that happen with mine
its the reminder
why would you ever sell a watch lol

Dont sell it, put away somewhere safe, you will miss it . After this you will want it more, wear after you will appreciate more
@watchify1775
How much? Zero. No sapphire- no deal (for me)
I think you would have to move up to much more expensive MR-G line for that
Who cares sapphire is only for high end pieces this isn't at all a high end piece. This is actually easily affordable
Ego...That's all it is that wants you to buy an expensive watch...And that's ok.
