- Hope this helps size your new metal square Gshock. This is a great bracelet with unique design that will require a little patience. Thanks for watching.
I just bought one of these and this video was very helpful. I know it's a bit old, but thanks for posting this.
This is a great YT channel.
That’s what’s it’s all about, helping others with watches.
These bracelets with small links and 4 micro adjustments on the clasp are a really great design. Some of the most prestigious names in the watch business could learn a thing or two from Casio about a great fitting bracelet.
I've never adjusted a metal watch bracelet before. This was very easy even with my aging eyes. I used a sim tray pin as many on here have suggested & a small flat head screwdriver to joint the links back. Thanks for showing me how it's done. By the way the watch is lovely its real casio class it won't be off my wrist very often.
A sim tray pin is a great idea, I have lots of those floating around. Thanks for that.
Very easy once you got the trick. Pulling it back together can be tricky, but your idea to put it flat on the table is the best when you only have two hands which is my case :) - thank you very much.
Thank you for the video. Just performed the same adjustment, 2 links off each side. Had it not been for this video I never would have figured out the spring bars. It's not as hard as this video makes it out to be, used a thumb tack and it took like 5 minutes. :) Thanks again.
This is the easiest bracelet I have ever sized. I just used the pin tool for a sim tray (to a smartphone) to push the pins.
Thank you so much for your tip, it worked great! Cheers! 👍👍👍
Yes the sim pin works a treat. Cheers!
I also used the sim tool. Having viewed the video and using this tool made it very easy to remove/add links
This comment helped me out so much sizing mine. Within 10 mins of adjusting and test sizing down link by link using the sin Card pin method I had mine sized perfectly. Tha k you for this post
Do you find that this method requires too much “play” in the bracelet such that the bracelet grabs hairs?
This was really useful. Got a GST-B300SD-1AER for Christmas and was bamboozled until I saw your video. Thanks very much indeed.
First thank you. I asked for the watch for Hanukkah and my lovely wife honored me. I was puzzled not seeing either the reliefs nor arrows. Your video helped a ton. The only think I might differ from you--I found it pretty easy to do. Great video and very helpful.
Thank You! Never knew I could change the size of the metal watches and thought I was stuck with the over sized one I bought online. You sir are a life saver!
I recently bought the Tron watch and this video was so useful
That's the great way to design the bracelet. I love it!! Thanks for the review Rob.
Hi Rob, I've subscribed awhile back and enjoyed your presentations especially with G Shocks. This was a "unique" video for sure and I'm so glad you did it because I purchased direct from Casio's web site the new black
GMW-B5000GD-1; and was happy to see you simplify a newly designed bracelet that was easier after watching you. A big thanks and wishing you the best in the New Year!
Just got my gold version of this one and this tutorial was VERY helpful. Thanks!
Thanks mate. Just did my band and it was so easy. You're video helped a lot. Love this metal gshock.
Glad I came across your video here! Same watch arriving next week. Thanks for sharing
So glad this video is out there in the world! 🎰
This was super helpful, thank you. I bought the black version of this this weekend and was able to shorten the strap by five links. Great video!
You are adjusting this just fine, Sir. The only slight tweaks I would add to your technique is to use a slightly smaller spring bar tool (the tool you usually line up and strike with a hammer). Then use a wooden cocktail stick to push the pins back in to avoid slipping and scratching. Honestly it was the easiest and most pleasurable adjustment I’ve ever done. I agree with some of the comments here - this miniature spring bar system in the centre of the links is genius!
I find that you only need to press the spring bar from one side, then twist the bracelet slightly . You can pop out the spring bar from one side then it just comes apart. Putting it back together is just as easy. Put the spring bar through the inner link and drop one end into the corresponding hole in the other link. You then press down the exposed spring bar end with the tool and squeeze them back together with your fingers.
Same thing worked for me. I was worried at first about bending the pin so I can understand that but once I knew that worked it took only a couple of minutes to resize it. Love this watch.
2yrs late but thanks Rob just did mine after watching your video.. 👍🏾👌🏾..
Waiting for a Resin strap to arrive next week.. fitting that is the next challenge!
Very clear and useful video. Have the black all metal version arriving tomorrow. Thank you.
Thanks Rob. Just got mine today. Very helpful 😀
Thanks Rob, just got myself all steel 2100, this vid helps alot
Thank you for this video! I have a ton of watches never dealt with bands like this.. I probably would have screwed up the watch band if i did watch this first.
Really neat bracelet design. Thanks for sharing Rob :)
I used a thumb tack, worked pretty well. The metal part fit in the holes, and the plastic part was good for pushing the springs down back into place
Great suggestion Alex thank you, after sorting thru all the picks I thought would fit and didn't used your idea worked perfectly
Very helpful thank you. A guide on removing the bracelet from the head would be great too! I imagined it, but not without damage.
Dangit, you're going to make me buy this, aren't you? ;)
Scuse me! may I ask what dang it means? sounds kinda cool!
Thanks very much for uploading this video. Just got one of these for Xmas and I was also confused about removing the links.
Very helpful thank you, the new watch now fits
I got a black one in today and I was curious how it comes apart. Thanks for the video!
Thanks rob its really helpful
Very nice camera you using on the overhead view. Very sharp image. Maybe can do more like this? Gshock battery change maybe? Watches movement overhaul mechanical or quartz maybe? Etc.
Just a suggestion.
Iphone7.
I don’t really work on watches but I can do more vids like this. I will be doing some simple mods on skx soon.
that yellow seiko watch is very cool
Bracelet actually seems to be perhaps the easiest bracelet I have ever sized. Problem is getting the bracelet to fit and be comfortable
Thank you very much!!!! 🙏🏻
Hi Rob. Could you please to a video on how to remove the bracelet from the watch? I have been trying to find one on UA-cam with no luck. Thanks. Dan
Great video brother! Finally from your video I learned to do this type of bracelet! Man you wana make me start a UA-cam channel! :)
Great vid thanks
Hi @Rob, Thank you for the video, really helpful. I need a couple of links to my GMW-B5000 black bracelet any idea where can I get them? Thanks in advance.
Thx! You made my day!
Thank you!
SIM tool to easily take the pins out and laying down flat with my fingernail to put them back in was all it took.
Nice instructional video.
Where did you get the tools needed for this & do you know how/where I can get replacement rods? Thank you ! Nice civic
Please a video about strap change and strap options! I would love to put this exclusive gshock model on a croc leather or suede by using some sort of polished steel adapters... Do you know a company which makes polished steeladapters for square gshocks??
Far as I know there are no adaptors for this style. The way the bracelet attaches to the body is unique for sure.
@@RandomRobReviews hy.. is it possible to change the metal strap from B5000D-1ER with the B5000-1ER (Resin)
Trying to replace a 1998 Gshock g-cool 004 watch bracelet, but I'm having some trouble finding out the proper sizing for the replacement strap. I know this video isn't quite that, but is there a good resource to know exactly which size replacement strap I should purchase?
The GMW-B5000D-1ER is still readily available here in The Netherlands (know of two actual shops that have it on display) so I wonder if there is a new batch on the market.
Limited edition ? Saw so many models like 1er 1 d 1g I don't understand what's the difference
Had the same issue. I just used 2 spring pin tools.
i would make a small wooden block and insert the pin from a cheap tool into the block so that i can press both sides of the pin at the same time
Cool - thanks for sharing ... :-)
Very helpful!
I took out 5 links on my Gshock GMW G5000 Gold 😊
tysm bro
thanks for teaching
could you show a video on how to remove the bracelet totally?
Hi, what is the lug to lug size of this watch including the first link? I have a 16cm wrist and afraid that first link wouldn’t wrap around the wrist.
Please can you tell me if this bracelet fits the new gm 6900 g shock trying to make full metal GMW-B5000TFG-9 Gold Stainless Steel Bracelet i want too know if it fits gm-6900 g-9 gold
Does any one know if this bracelet fits the g shock gm 6900 models I want to just buy the bracelet and customize the gm 6900 model but idk if this bracelet will work
Rob, would the bezel from b5000 fit in a 5610 module? and would the resin band fit band fit as well? I hope you can try it since you got both models
I cannot speak for the Bezel as I do not own any other g shock but the bracelet/band is definitely NOT interchangeable.
Did you manage to get the entire strap off? It's hard!
should work on the MRGB5000
Grazie per il video, LIKE!
Sir can you change the complete metal strap for this watch with a resin stap or nato
The screws at the lugs need to be unscrew I'd say that'll do it. Just a thought I've never tried it on mine but I do think that's the idea of the screws
Can you or anyone compare this to the size of the rubber 5600 series?
i found a better way, you take one side out. then you twist the bracket and i press the pin on a desk top
yeah, i know a better way to do it.. did you try magic?
Ran out of it
Seriously. A G-Shock?
Should i grind the 1st link so it be more maleable on the wrist?
Thank you!
