- Featuring Chief Musician William Edwards, "Baba Yetu" was recorded at the 2016 #USNavy Birthday Concert at the Music Center at #Strathmore.
We dedicate our performance to those Sailors who are extending the hand of compassion and assistance around the world. Providing food, water, medical aid, and disaster relief, the U.S. Navy responds quickly to those in need.
It's not just his voice which I could listen to day after day. It's his face of his joy of singing! Some he can look sad, others happy a true artist.
Amazing. As a Swahili native it feels great to listen you guys singing and pronouncing the Swahili text very well. Much love from Kenya 🇰🇪

Seeing a white guy singing on african language rises up our spirits. Shows that everyone can learn from each other, regardless of origin of birth!
That is not African language. Africa is not a country. That is Swahili spoken in Kenya 🇰🇪 and Tanzania 🇹🇿 and the sweetest thing is that he is praying The Lord's prayer.
@@carolinekasiemeka9848 I speak Portuguese. It's an EUROPEAN language, even though Portugal is not an entire continent. I guess you can't interpret texts right...Swahili IS an african language. Is it from Asia? Is it from Americas? Is it from Europe? Is it from Oceania? So.....................

Thikka -- There is another video of Bill Edwards singing Baba Yetu at the (2015?) Concert on the Avenue series and I like that version better, but I like HIM singing anything!

I know some of the Hospital ships come and go out of Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme and sometimes Point Mugu. I am a Ventura County Born Native. And when little I used to live near the Hueneme Port so I got to see the ships come and go. Both Navy and Commercial depending on the side of the Port whether it be commercial or Navy. In Emergencies Navy Always took Priority in coming and going. Plus if bad enough The base got priority over the commercial side to on rare occasions I remember a few cases they were transferring supplies from commercial ships to Navy so they could get out in a hurry.
