Aloha, another great review! Your videos are fun to watch and informative. I was introduced to the Samurai through your Rework Toshi review. I want to comment on the Samurai ordering process. A few weeks ago, they opened up orders for 40 Samurai's! I got on the list but found out that you are picked by a lottery, not in the order you requested one! Sadly, with over 200 requests, I was not one of them. So, just because you put your name in to order one, you may not get it. 😢 Yes, these are difficult to get. I think Packolab should make orders available through a waiting list,at least you'll know where you stand.
@@Michaelhawaii50 Hello! Yes this lottery is a new process for Packolab. Previously it was first come first serve and spots would fill up in just a few minutes. I’m guessing they switched to the lottery method in an effort to provide a better chance for everyone to get in. They’re a small team operating in a war zone so production is quite limited. I say the sling is worth the wait, don’t give up!
Yeah besides being just a small team, the added stress of being in an active war zone adds material shortages and power outages into the mix. The design and craftsmanship is second to none, definitely worth the wait if you can grab a spot in line.
@@nicng9636 Hi Nic, by conceal carry I’m referring carrying a firearm, for people who have a concealed carry license, or as some states refer to it as a LTC ( license to carry). In some of my other sling videos I showed organizers that can be purchased off Amazon and used instead, like this one a.co/d/anGj6lM
@@mdascoota4293 currently the only way to order is through messaging Packolab directly through instagram dm. They open reservations roughly every 6-8 weeks, I’m not sure how many spots they open but due to popular demand, spots fill up quickly. I believe on the last round all spots were filled under an hour. They do post the date and time of the reservations before hand so it’s recommended to follow their instagram, I put the link in the description. Once you get on the list, you’ll have an opportunity to go over all the options so don’t feel rushed to have every detail picked out when orders open. Practice patience, due to the war in the Ukraine, they often deal with power outages, shipping delays and difficulties securing certain materials. It definitely worth the wait and investment. I’m not affiliated in a way with the company, I spent my own money but this has easily become my favorite piece of gear that I own.
Ah crap I totally forgot about doing a short on that 🤦🏽♂️ I no longer have the day bag. Sold it’s in order to bring in a new bag to review. Sorry about that.
Oh wow, that’ll be cool. Anything is better than the stock 1” strap. I’m guessing with the 1.5” and maybe your padded strap, that’ll help with weight distribution. The difference was really noticeable to me
I know its custom made, I just got onto the new order list and plan on getting it...but would this be able to fit and iPad pro 11? Also can you provide the dimensions of this sling?
Hi! I proved the dimensions in the video at 6:19 mark, you can also go directly to the dimensions by clicking the chapters in the description. I don’t have an iPad Pro but I looked up the dimensions and I would say no, that probably won’t fit. This is listed as a 3.5L sling, I feel it’s closer to 4L but even then seems to small for your iPad. My old 10” iPad won’t fit.
I am looking for a sling to carry an insulated water bottle (23oz) on the outside. I though this packo lab would be a good option. But by your review it seems that it wont be a good user experience to attach that on the front of the bag. Also I was thinking on getting one on in waxed canvas (whisky color), but it seems that the material of the side pockets are always the same, and could affect the overall astethic of the bag.
@@edgarCruzado I’ve carried a 20oz insulated bottle from MiRR just fine, I just have to make sure to tighten the compression straps good because the weight of the bottle + water inside can make the bottle slide out if you make a sudden turn for example. Its just easier if the bottle can fit in the elastic band, less to think about and nothing to adjust I carried a 32oz MiRR once and that was just to heavy, it would slowly start to slide out as I walked, even with the straps pretty tight. I believe there’s a couple of options for the side pockets but yes most use ultra stretch, I didn’t even consider another option because I have ultra stretch pockets on my dragonfly and I love those, plus it matches the DF perfectly. You could alway shoot Borys a dm and ask about the pockets. He’s always been friendly and responsive.
I ordered one in waxed canvas. You can do what you want with those pockets. That material just only comes in 3 colors I believe. So if you want another color it's another material.
Cant wait to get mine! Working with PackOLabs owner, Borys, was a wonderful experience!
Yes! I can’t wait to get another one ordered, just don’t know what options to go with 🤦🏽♂️🤣
John,
You have excellent taste on choosing the Packolab Samurai bag. It’s solid!
@@nhungvo3772 such a great sling!

I totally understand what Ukraine is going through and have sent the team at packolab words of encouragement.
I won't give up.
Thanks!!
Never heard of this one before. Looks absolutely amazing, but wow that's a lot of fuss and bother to get ahold of one.

Awesome and thorough walkthrough, thanks. I can see why the carry community is always talking about this one lately.
Yes, the popularity of these has seemed to taken off and for good reason. It’s such a unique little pack.
10:35 what do u mean by conceal carry please? and what other organisers can be used with the samurai in place of the admin panel?

hey you didn't start with the main compartment first! jkjk. great review as always!
Hahahaha busted! This one was in the bank already but next one for sure, the people of Reddit have spoken! 🤣
I have been trying to find how and where to order anynif their bags however without any success. Any suggestions how to?

Will you still do the short about packability of the HC daybag?

Love the look of it. Is it possible to have it hang lower by the hips like a messenger bag?
Oh yeah absolutely, the strap has plenty of adjustment for a lower carry. Guess I should’ve demonstrated that 😅
Yup, I asked for a mod to my strap even. Some padding. He hasn't done so before so let's see how it works out.
