Im in the same situation where I have 3 kids and I want to keep them safe but at the same time I want to make sure the surround attachment doesn't block the heat around the leg area. Can you still feel some heat around your legs?

Yeah still feel some heat around the legs, especially with the deflector on, but this does also heat up the table top area also.
