      They made a mistake you need to correct, the rubber padding that is between the motor holder and frame is double. You need to remove one and place between the motor and frame as well.

    the wiring is not covered by anything and are pointed at the area where most splashes are coming from the rear wheel. what's the IPX rating for the motor?
    I know that connectors are waterproof but reality is, that those really are not waterproof.

    hi. My bike is equipped with a 500w motor and a 13a controller. I am going to change to a 20a controller. I know that bldc motors can withstand 2-3 times the power, but I wonder if this is true.

    Great video,How many miles do you get on this bike, while averaging 30 miles (48Km), does this motor overheat if you using throttle while you doing 30 miles (48Km), no one mansion estimated mileage range, can you also mention top speed and what size chainring you use 32,38,or 42, reply is well preciate it, you also get new subscriber to channel.

    Seems like a really expensive motor on a really cheap new bike frame with really low end components. Odd value proposition. I would think that most of us are looking to add a motor to a “old” but high spec MTB in the basement.

  • @alibro7512
    @alibro7512 Рік тому +2

    I'm confused. Why the extra chain? Why not drive the chain ring directly like the Bafang BBS mid drives do?
    I built a similar setup a few years ago using a car alternator as a motor but it was terrible. Maybe partly my fault for poor build quality and maybe the alty motor was not up to the job but the design was poor from the start.
    Well made video though. 🙂

      Well there are pros and cons. The Bafang is quiet whereas the CYC has a whine due to the gearbox reduction. But because of the external chain drive the CYC can be mounted much closer to the frame or even (like I did) moved into the frame triangle. The Bafang would hang way too low for my needs.

      Thats great except you would loose all the mechanical advantage the derailer offers. Of course you could add an internally geared rear hub but that would really increase the cost of the conversion.
      Also I'm not sure there is a way to use belt drive with this motor system in the first place.
