    The lighter the better, and your build is a more appropriate wheel thickness for 99% of the time in the city. It allows the bike to be more maneuverable with having either equal the power, or better in most cases while also being full suspension where the Biktrix is not. And somehow the Biktrix manages to be 25lbs heavier.

    That's really impressive. I have a Lectric XP, it's one of the cheaper ebikes out there with a 500W hub motor, but it's able to get to 29-30mph on max power with pedal assist. Since it seems like you are doing 40mph with only 750W, that's awesome. I wonder how fast you can go when it's fully unlocked and using all 3000W of power. Do you have to upgrade the crank/sprockets to even go faster? I don't have a mid-drive so I don't know much about it but it seems like you need to be able to provide the pedaling in order to get it to go any faster than 40mph right? Unless you mean the throttle alone will be able to fully utilize the 3000W.

Cheers man!

    Man I really cannot decide between the photon, x1 stealth and x1 pro.
    The photon is the more discreet and presumably power efficient option with better ease of installation. But what really detracts me from it is the lack of user serviceability, replacement psrts such as chainrings costing a fortune, and I've heard about many issues with it such as chainrings getting stuck/seized onto the unit, crunching noises from the bearings, bearings being full on stuck etc etc, and the price between the x1 stealth gen 3 and photon is literally 70 dollars as i have to get the expensive 34t chainring for my frame.
    The x1 stealth/pro is difficult to decide between, ive heard about problems with the pro magnets falling off inside the motor housing and causing failure etc, so reliability issues similar to the photon and i dont know if I'll ever need the 3500W+ from the pro where the stealth can peak at 3kw if i ever need it, although I'd only be paying 150 usd more for the pro and get more than twice the marketed power rating.
    Atm I'm on the verge between the x1 stealth and photon, the photon seems easier to get away with (legality wise), its presumably more power efficient and its quieter, but i feel like ill regret not getting the more powerful stealth even if the photon can peak at 2000w in unrestricted mode.

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  8 місяців тому +1

      I would recommend getting the X1 stealth. This is the best performance range for e-mtb trails, downhill and city riding. If you want crazy power and upgrades later on than get the X1 PRO. The is one issue with the PRO.
      You will need stronger cassette and chain. I have 300 km and I bent my entire drive train. Too much power. Everything needs to be reinforced including frame if you will be using it at max power on 72V.
      Either way use the link and discount code to get 5% discount of the final price. I hope this helps.

    I think most of us are not able to get on the trails as much as we plan and wind up spending most of our time on roads like your video shows. I am looking to build the "best" road-commuter ebike with thisCYC Gen 3 motor. Wondering if I should start with a fat bike frame, fixed tail MTB frame. I don't think a road bike or commuter bike frame would work because the skinny tires would make the ride too scary at higher speeds. Do you know of any good source for ebike build frames?

You have an x1 stealth motor which is 1500 watts ish peak power not the x1 pro that is 3000/5000 watts depending on the controller. Off road I will not go that fast but once I am able to unlock it and take it on trails I will record the max power on the screen. I also spoke with the owner of CYC Motors and John told me once you unlock you will pull 3000W max and it will punch hard and be very powerful. I don't have the tools to prove the 3000W output but why would the CYC owner lie?

    Enjoy it while you can because the way people ride those things in public places around children and old people is very responsible so will be illegal soon enough once enough people get injured or hobbled to the point of Ridiculousness. 9:29 right here at nine minutes and 26 seconds you'll notice you yourself come a little too close to a somewhat worried looking girl standing by bench who is it was an old person or small child might have freaked out and possibly darted out in front of you like a cat on the side of the road when you drive by because after all the initial tendency for most animals when feeling threatened is to run and most bikers aren't prepared for that they expect you to be just standing still and waiting for them to go around and that hardly ever works out that way with the most vulnerable and fearful (because they know they're vulnerable). Just something to think about we should all ride different on the public roadway and sidewalks then we do on the trails but we seldom give it much thought until they're threatening to take them away.
