Rusty engines can only be brought home in a Chopper or ATV vehicle.
It cannot be brought home by hand.
What is the use of a rusty engine?
Rusty motors can be recycled by Recycler. You will then be able to receive one of the following 3 items: Aluminum wire, Aluminum Bar or Engine Part.
Note that after placing it on top of the Recycler, nothing else can be done until it is completely disposed.
The rusted engine can also be given to the mechanic inside Jane's garage at the Gas Station in exchange for 100 points.
Where are rusty engines found?
The rusty engine was found inside the rusty car.
Rusty cars with internal engines are rare.
It is more common in red than yellow areas and more common in yellow than green areas.
But definitely in Junkyard.
Rusted Engines and Intact Engines can be found at Gas Stations.
You can only have a maximum of 5 rusty engines in your base.

How do you harvest aluminum from a rusty engine? Aluminum doesn’t rust! It’s clearly steel!
I see what you mean but it seems that the rusted motor housing is not recyclable but the components inside it. As far as I know the piston is made of aluminum.
There are 2 types of engines that can be found.
Engine rust and engine intact.
for the intact engine, the recyclability will get steel plate. The intact engine is blue.

"Item disassembly enhances your recycling skills. The higher the skill, the more chance of getting rare resources". Your recycling skills will be enhanced as you recycle more and more products, the rarer the product, the more experience you get.
Okay but what is the best item to use
Recycling Skills has 6 skills, and they are:
Clothes
Melee Weapons
Other
Mechanics
Electronics
Firearms
You can see the level of each item in the item in the recycler

how much points does intact engine gives you? is it much higher than a generator?
I think the max is 1000 points for a bonus so whether it's the intact engine or the alternator it's only 1000 points.
