I like hearing the whole story surrounding the Bigfoot encounter. It makes the person who went through it more real, more integral to the story. Thanks to the writers, and to Nance for the great storytelling narration!

You tell them, Nance. Whether it is personal details not part of the encounter, lots of description, personal theories, or short & to the point. Everyone has done a wonderful job sharing the details of their stories. Even those details that aren't about the encounter, but are about the mindset or the setting that helps the writer get back to the time of the encounter, are great. The make the stories more real. They are as important to the story as the parts of the story where bigfoot makes an appearance. So all you writers, keep up the good work. Do fret about about taking too much time, not enough time, or not being on topic. They are your stories & we enjoy hearing them in other the details you are inspired to share!

The headliner story was great! It was exciting, evocative, and suspenseful. It also made me nostalgic for my early teen years, before the Net and Blockbusters dominated an evening's entertainment.

Enjoyed listening the stories tonight. Thanks for sharing these experiences. Glad the dad didn't try to tell his son it was just a bear as so many people do. Thanks Nance for the great reading. Bedtime for me, as I was doing lawn care all day. At least that is what I like to call taking care of 6 acres. I think I could give Bigfoot a run for the money on arm length , it feels like my arms are well below my knees! Wishing everyone a good night!

Huh. My first thought when the writer of the first story said that the tall, lanky Sasquatch walked in full view across their field of view and was hurrying along but checking on the humans now and then (as if to make sure they were staying put and not making a move to come after him) I immediately saw this behaviour as what I've seen human teens do on a dare. I pictured that Squatch's buddy back in the trees stifling a nervous laugh.
But then I listened on and heard that the Sasquatch kept looking nervously into the trees and so the writer's conclusion makes more sense. Quite a strange sighting. I'm glad the writer shared it!

Sacred Cow!!!🐄 Those were some great stories Nance! Thanks for your amazing narration as always! ❤
To the Retired Birdwatcher; Hi fellow retirees! I don’t think the Sasquatch you saw means you any harm. The Oak and Walnut trees taken were probably building material for a new shelter for them up near that ridge top. Walnut and Oak are sturdy hardwoods. I like Oak and Walnut in my house too! 😂 They were moving in. Just think of them as your hairy neighbors.
The walk along the tree line in the morning mist was a test of you and your hubby. The one that made the walk was potentially placing itself in danger to test your reaction to seeing it. He undoubtedly had back up waiting in the trees, just in case you guys started shooting, and his back up was who he kept glancing up at while also keeping an eye on you guys. If I had placed myself in danger of being shot, I’d be making frequent eye contact with my back up too.
You guys passed the test! You didn’t freak out and you didn’t start shooting. Telling them that you don’t hate them or want to hurt them.
Now, all you have to do is be a good neighbor to a Sasquatch Clan. This means DON’T feed them! Some people who have Sasquatch on their land get into a “gifting” exchange with them, and sometimes this works out fine for both sides.
But I still advise against it. Misunderstandings can happen easily and if you don’t put out what they expect when they expect it, they can turn on you. Or years down the road if you ever sell your place, you won’t have to tell the new owners what they need to put out for Sasquatches so they won’t get attacked.
Another important tip is to not stare at them when you see them and avoid lifting anything in your hands to your face while facing them. (((I was surprised that the one who showed himself didn’t take off the minute you lifted the binoculars, but that was why he was out there, to see what you would do. And the binoculars didn’t hurt him.)))
They understand some human gestures, such as showing open palms to indicate no weapons. If you see them, just acknowledge them with a nod and a wave, and go about your business. They appreciate that and will return the favor.
Make sure your TV screen doesn’t face a window which has opened drapes. TV captivates them. They’ll come in and stand right outside your living room window to watch it.
Basically, it sounds like you were lucky enough to have a non-aggressive clan settle near you. Now all you have to do is not start a war with them by shooting at them or even yelling at them. They can take great offense at being yelled at.
Don’t yell at them, don’t stare at them, keep any eye contact very brief, don’t feed them and don’t shoot at them.
    You’ll be fine.
To the young backyard campers. I’d say your dad DEFINITELY saw the creature and his instant reaction suggests he’d seen it before, probably when he was in Vietnam. Yup, Sasquatch is in the jungles of Nam, where American soldiers called them Rock Apes because they threw rocks at the soldiers.
And yes….the smell of the hot dogs and S’mores is what brought it in. I doubt it intended to harm or carry off either you or your friend. It was probably hoping your friend would follow you into the house, leaving him alone with that beautiful bag of marshmallows! 😂
Failing that, he was probably thinking about maybe sneaking closer and snatching the bag. If he intended to harm either of you, he would have. But before he could try to commando crawl closer to steal those marshmallows, dad opens fire! Ruined that Sasquatch’s night, I’m sure, and undoubtedly triggered the hell out of your dad’s Nam PTSD, seeing one of those creatures here at home too!
