I picked up a 12 pack of Miller High Life on the way home, and I was delighted to find one of your Miller reviews I hadn't seen yet. As always, I learned a lot, even about a beer I've been drinking for decades. I love the history and production information. Great review! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
@kl81687 It might taste better from the bottle, and Miller uses special hops that don't get skunked in the clear bottles. But, it's really good on draft, if you could ever find that. Thanks for watching, KL!
Strange to think I started watching your videos around this time, back before I could even legally drink. Thank you for making the videos you do, seems like just yesterday I watched this for the first time and felt almost like I had found a friend, as I too am interested in the history of particular beers and beer brands, not just the beer reviews.
I just picked up a 32 ounce glass bottle of this instead of getting the usual 40oz bud ice. I wanted to try something different and I've always wanted to try this one. I was very impressed and it exceeded my expectations in quality and taste. I'll definitely be picking this one up again. Thanks for another awesome review Ron!
Hey Ronnie.. My brother Petey & I are on the phone right now (Him in NC, & Me in NY), joining You on this brilliant beer review! Remember Petey? You two reviewed Pabst Old Tankard Ale on his visit to New Orleans!! Thanks for doing that with him! A cherished memory.. This Miller High Life is for You !!!
The very first beer I drank when I was old enough, with my dad and my older brother, so it's very special to me aside from being a fantastic tasting beer! It will be a sad day in my life if MHL is ever discontinued.... TY Ron for the GRT review☺
Thanks a lot for watching, db304! Well, for everyday drinking, I usually look for good deals. For instance, the last few months, they've had Icehouse for $6.49/12-pack of bottles at Wal-Mart, and I've been going with that.
For a non craft beer its a great brew i dont know why there are so many beer snobs out there. P.s. im a huge fan of yours sir i watch your videos all the time i thank u have a great taste in beer and ur not a beer snob like some other people u give every beer a chance so chears to beers man
Hi Jay, I have always thought that even though they change frequently, their bottles have always had a great look to them. I like the "girl in the moon" and I like this beer! (Oh and what I have heard on how they get by with the clear bottles is that they do not boil their hops in the wort, they use a specially processed hop extract that does not have the compounds that causes skunking in other beers.)
@Tunnelfish I remember sipping it from my father's bottle as a three- or four-year-old, and it was so delicious. I wonder if the recipe has been modified. I still like to have it from time to time, however. Thanks for watching!
Dude... you are the only guy on youtube that gives a respectful and educated review of miller high life. I wont name names but there are some absurd opinions that people have. But thats there right... i guess
@smoke8761 Thanks for watching and subscribing, smoke8761! Well, lots of people like Miller High Life's mellow and slightly unusual taste. I drink it from time to time.
@JRZSHR Thanks for watching, JRZSHR! I always did like American lagers (drank Schlitz, yesterday). I never could understand all the people ripping them. But, everyone's entitled to their opinion, of course.
@dbraz45 I can't remember where I read that about the additive, but I know I read about it. When I started this beer-drinking project (hobby) in Februrary of 1996, Miller High Life was the first beer I had.
Just had a sip, glass of this out of the plastic bottle the 40oz is now sold in. And it's still a solid beer. Can't believe it's so inexpensive these days !
Believe it or not but I had never tried this beer until last weekend . Having in laws that are tied to a AB distributor it wasn't heard of but I finally stood my ground and if you see this Kevin sorry but this is a good beer! Excellent review.
I can see you having that impression, because I've always found Miller High Life to have a somewhat unusual aroma and flavor. Thanks for watching, grandtheftautocj!
Tried it for the first time in a very long time and I've been pleasantly surprised. Was expecting it to have a very bland smell/taste, but it's one of the tastier ones i've had all things considered.(american style lagers)
Great review! My old man has always drank Miller. High Life has always had a slight milky taste in my opinion. I prefer Busch over Miller any day. But it is a pretty good beer over all.
Philadelphia - I just purchased a case of 30 cans for $20 even including tax. That is 67 cents per can. It is a very enjoyable beer, especially nice and cold. I drink it right out of the can so perhaps that is why I don't get that cooked vegetable smell. You can't beat it for the price. There is no after bite nor metallic taste like w real low end beers. If the price don't change I think I found my beer for the summer!
Mike MakesRight in Philly 30 case cans for $20 in PA i thought u guys where a control state for alchoal nevertheless it makes us up here in Vancover Canada and Canada with the expetion of Quebec where 24 cases of Heinken Sapporo Blue etc are $25 $26 $27 bucks for 24 case the cheapest in the country the best deal in Canada for beer is up in Qubec where at the Costco 60 cans of Coors Light is $60 for 55 cans
Here in Pennsylvania the government controls sales of hard liquor but beer is open to private enterprise so there is competition that keeps costs down. For example this morning I saw they had a 30 can case of Pabst for $17.80. Always something on sale for us bottom feeders lol.
gr8 Review as always Ron~I may prefer Bud [just by the slightest Margin] however @ $9.95 an 18 pack for Bottles or Cans,it pretty much is my GO2 "American Macro Lager"~super smooth, easy drinking[actually the drinkabilty of miller high life is through the F'n Roof!] BUD is $12.99 a 12ver,which is a tad over priced IMHO,once in awhile I can find Busch for the same price,[10 bucks an 18 pack bottles or cans] so I bounce between MHL & Busch, both very good American Macro Lagers IMHO~and with steamed shrimp,Crabs,Crawfish,Backyard BBQ's....cant beat it for the price! cheers buddy!
Miller is such an underrated beer. Its a old good American Beer for a great price. Never had a skunk taste like rolling rock. Very Consistent flavor unlike Bud.
well a year ago I purchased this beer and absolutely hated it mainly because of the smell. well months ago got me a 32 ounce and since then I've been hooked. only beer I've drank in past 3 months...to me the smell has somewhat diminished. great beer I love it!!
hahaha yea i know, i live in vancouver so its like a 3 hour drive to seattle for me, every once in a while i go down and get a 30 pack, great beer all my brothers like it too, it would definately be popular up here!
Drank 96oz (4 24oz) of this and im not buzzing at all. It a smooth, good tasting beer, easy too down but its not something I would buy again. Ill just stick with Malt Liquor for now. I'm still exploring though, trying too look for my kind of beer. Anu suggestions??
@geoffolehane I missed that one; I saw it one place, decided to wait 'til later, and it was gone. Remember the Red Miller that they pushed so hard in 1995? Then, it was just gone! Thanks a lot, Geoff!
The preservative is actually a bio-engineered type of hops, which keeps it from spoiling in the light. It's been my goto beer since I was a teenager, and I'm now 67 years old, and I still like it.
Why change the bottle? The whole point of being the champagne of beers is that the bottle looks like champagne. Again Ronald great review. I like the fact you aren't scared to rate a beer highly even tho it is a mainstream macro. Your reviews are much more watchable than the other reviewers.
Checking out the the review yu did on Miller High Life!Ater watching i need to revisit this beer.I will be honest the last of the two times i ever tried this beer was in the spring of 1997,and was visiting a friend in Palm Coast Florida Which is in Flagler County.I remember it being really refreshing on a really warm afternoon and was really drinkable as was perfect for the yard work i was helping accomplish loll!Might just pick up a six of this later today, thanks to youre very inspiring REVIEW
I like Miller High Life beer. Here in central rural Nebraska, 30-pack cans go on sale for $14.99, 50 cents a can, not counting tax. I get my buzz, and it is cheap. It is not the alcoholics level shit like 911, Milwaukee Best, or Keystone so I do not have to give up 100% of my pride. I keep almost 22.5%!
Chawl Shepard Miller High Life is okay, by me. Oftentimes, I'll drink it, if I go to Ye Olde College Inn (in New Orleans). It's about $17.99 for a 30-pack (along with Miller High Life Light), down here.
Chawl Shepard wow 30 case can of Miller High life for $14.99 in Nebraska. wish we got those deals here in Canada im from Vancover BC the best deal on beer we get up here is in Quebec where the beer tax is lower and we can buy a 24 case at any supermaket and corner store fore $25 to $26 bucks
I've been watching your videos for a few days now and I appreciate your opinions on these beers... Makes me want to try a few that I haven't had. Do you have an every day favorite beer that is your staple or do you mix it up frequently? Thanks, Cap
Great info. Love you dude! 👍🏼 Imo, this is a 4.5, with a lil funk that separates it from bud and coors banquet. Extremely drinkable but not as flavorful as the others.
Subbed! not one of the best beers but when I dont have the money to dish out for good craft beers I prefer this beer This is what me and my brother drank building houses in the summer craved that first sipp our whole 10 hour shift lol good times and I still drink it often
The reason is that it causes a thick head of foam, which releases esters, and that makes for a better drinking experience. Thanks for watching, Gavin Yeatts. I appreciate it!
I noticed you said you found this beer for $11.99 a case.... I have not found it for that price. Here it's more like 15.99 a case. I thought that was different then what they charge here. That must have been a major sale. Yes I do enjoy the champagne of beers myself. My neighbor got mad at me because I bought him a 40 oz bottle of this without his knowing but he quickly shut his mouth and drank it down and he was impressed. He was satisfied with it because it's a good balanced beer. It's a very reliable standby beer that delivers. It's a true staple beer.
Ronald Theriot Yes I agree though this was shortly before more inflation and price increases. I admit these beers were a little cheaper not too long ago. I hope they stop going up on it. Miller High life and Pabst Blue Ribbon jumped up in price the most in my opinion.
Have you seen the harley davidson collecter can series? Pretty cool. Great lacing with this beer. Cheers bro. Keep the vids coming. I been watching all day on my day off
Hey Ron if you have any High Lifes left from your recent 18 pack could you revisit the beer maybe, or do you not have anything else to say? I noticed you re-visited Genuine Draft but not this..
I do like Miller (High Life). I still call it "Miller" and most folks think I'm talking "Miller Lite". There are a few bars that have High Life in bottles but I don't think I've ever seen it on tap. Also I think Miller has the best lacing in the glass out of all the "Big 3".
I think it was a 30-pack that I bought ($17.99), actually. Yes, I have some left, and I'm planning to revisit this beer in Novermber, JCook. By the way, I drank two, today, and I really enjoyed 'em.
I'll get this over a Budweiser any day
MarinRayado H'mmm. I guess I like both.
If I had to choose one, I'd go with MHL.
Good choice, Jingy.
Ronald Theriot What do you think of king cobra
Oh, I've done some reviews of it, FS.
literally watched almost all your reviews in the passed few days haha. Good reviews man
+Rocco Esposito Thanks a lot, Rocco Esposito. I appreciate it, and I'm glad you like the videos!
One of my favorite beers on a hot Louisiana afternoon. Perfect for a crawfish boil. Cheers from Houma!
sean melancon Thanks so much for watching, sean melancon! Cheers back to you! Yes, definitely a crawfish boil beer.
Great review! Looking forward to many more
Kiefer Voorhees Thanks, Kiefer Voorhees. I appreciate it!
I picked up a 12 pack of Miller High Life on the way home, and I was delighted to find one of your Miller reviews I hadn't seen yet. As always, I learned a lot, even about a beer I've been drinking for decades. I love the history and production information. Great review! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Thanks for your continued support, John!
" Anywhere where beer is welcomed" wow what a perfect description for this beer
I agree. Thanks for watching, David Richards. I appreciate it!
@kl81687 It might taste better from the bottle, and Miller uses special hops that don't get skunked in the clear bottles. But, it's really good on draft, if you could ever find that. Thanks for watching, KL!
Happy New Year
Cool beer reviews. keep em coming in 2012.
I am a big fan of the High Life. Glad to see you give the American Lagers a fair review.
Thanks, and keep watching, to see what comes, for the remainder of 2022!
Strange to think I started watching your videos around this time, back before I could even legally drink. Thank you for making the videos you do, seems like just yesterday I watched this for the first time and felt almost like I had found a friend, as I too am interested in the history of particular beers and beer brands, not just the beer reviews.
Thanks for watching, cdm. I appreciate your support!
thank you for providing somuch interesting information! please keep making reviews!
You're welcome, and thanks for watching, mexiluvsw. I appreciate it!
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Stephen king.
No, they have not, Jonah Frazier. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
LOL! I have to agree! Pretty big resemblance!!
Younger and skinnier but yeah
@@tweezerjam younger yes though I'm not sure if skinnier is possible 💀
Cheers from Kentucky Ronald!! High Life is a classic even with the cooked vegetables😉
Thanks, Adam Coker. You're right! And, I appreciate you watching!

Hey! Joe! Of course I remember Pete! It was so much fun, and y'all gave me so much beer!
I love your reviews. You're like the wise Uncle showing me how to refine my pallet.
Thanks, Gear Chat Channel. I appreciate you watching!
The very first beer I drank when I was old enough, with my dad and my older brother, so it's very special to me aside from being a fantastic tasting beer! It will be a sad day in my life if MHL is ever discontinued.... TY Ron for the GRT review☺
You're welcome, Alex, and it really would be a sad day, if that ever happened.
This is a beer that I enjoy most out of the bottle. I love the shape and feel of the 12 ounce bottles. I find it a beautiful and unique presentation.
MrRetroville I agree.
Thanks a lot for watching, db304! Well, for everyday drinking, I usually look for good deals. For instance, the last few months, they've had Icehouse for $6.49/12-pack of bottles at Wal-Mart, and I've been going with that.
"Light stable" hops. Man, I learn something new every day. Thanks for the information.
High praise for the high life indeed. Simple, classic American beer.
It really is. Thanks for watching, Greg Schmidt. I appreciate it!
Good value in terms of both quantity and quality! I just picked up a 6 pack of 16oz cans today for $6!
You're right, and that's a decent price, this day in age.
Thanks for watching, evan! Yeah, it's $6.99/12-pack at my local Wal-Mart, right now.
Oh, you're welcome. Thanks for watching, Andrew Geren!
This is my favorite beer and for a great price. I did like the shape of the the 12oz bottles.
+Matt Jones Yes, they're nice, Matt Jones. Thanks so much for watching. Much appreciated!

Ryan Thurber Right. Miller says they use Galena hops, which resist light damage, Ryan.
I just saw an ad on TV with the old "If you've got the time...we got the beer" jingle.
Yes, when I was shaving, yesterday morning (2:55 AM), I had ESPN playing, and I heard the commercial, but I did not see it.
Thanks a lot, Brett!
I always enjoy watching your reviews of macro lagers. Miller has put out a few short-lived interesting brews over the years such as thei 1855 beer
I still think Germany Czeck republic Belgium Holland. And Japan macro lager pillsners are better Quality American. Macro lager is poor in comparison
Thanks, and also that ill-fated Miller Fortune.
@Tunnelfish I remember sipping it from my father's bottle as a three- or four-year-old, and it was so delicious. I wonder if the recipe has been modified. I still like to have it from time to time, however. Thanks for watching!
I'm glad you enjoyed them, pajaro. I know I do. Thanks so much for watching, Amigo!
My favorite beer. Our Navy Exchange sells a 12 pack for $8.99! Very smooth, crisp and refreshing.
That's a fair price, this day in age. Thanks for watching, Mike Vargas. I appreciate it!
Thanks for watching, Tim4196. I don't think one can go wrong with Miller High Life.
Thanks a lot. I sure do appreciate it!
Good review! I like this stuff a lot. I can get a 12 pack for $6.99 here in California.
Thanks so much for watching, Jingy2003! That's the same price it is in Louisiana, right now.
Dude... you are the only guy on youtube that gives a respectful and educated review of miller high life. I wont name names but there are some absurd opinions that people have. But thats there right... i guess
Thanks so much for your support!
@MCMCsimulation I'm glad you liked the review, MCMCs! Keep watching!
@smoke8761 Thanks for watching and subscribing, smoke8761! Well, lots of people like Miller High Life's mellow and slightly unusual taste. I drink it from time to time.
It's really good beer. I like it a lot!:) Great Review Ron as Always!
Thanks, Brett!
@JRZSHR Thanks for watching, JRZSHR! I always did like American lagers (drank Schlitz, yesterday). I never could understand all the people ripping them. But, everyone's entitled to their opinion, of course.
When I'm on a budget and need beer I usually get a 30 pack to last me. Very good price wise too
+Jimmy Feliciano You're right, Jimmy Feliciano. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
@dbraz45 I can't remember where I read that about the additive, but I know I read about it. When I started this beer-drinking project (hobby) in Februrary of 1996, Miller High Life was the first beer I had.
Thanks a lot!
Just had a sip, glass of this out of the plastic bottle the 40oz is now sold in. And it's still a solid beer. Can't believe it's so inexpensive these days !
+dancingdog60 They have discontinued the plastic bottles, thankfully. Thanks for watching, dancingdog60. I appreciate it!
Believe it or not but I had never tried this beer until last weekend . Having in laws that are tied to a AB distributor it wasn't heard of but I finally stood my ground and if you see this Kevin sorry but this is a good beer! Excellent review.
+Matt S Hey, you've gotta call 'em as you see 'em.
@dacman17 Right! Thanks for watching, dacman17. I almost drank some Miller High Life yesterday evening, by the way.
I'm glad you liked it!
Great review! My old man has always drank Miller. High Life has always had a slight milky taste in my opinion. I prefer Busch over Miller any day. But it is a pretty good beer over all.
Milky. I've not ever heard that description, before, Bradley Michael Riccio. Thanks for watching!
i love high life. i think it's underrated
+Kyle Ranard Me, too, and I agree, Kyle Ranard. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
I need to try some of the Deschutes products, for sure. Yeah, Wal-Mart has Miller High Life 12-packs for $6.50 right now, in fact.
Here in Pennsylvania the government controls sales of hard liquor but beer is open to private enterprise so there is competition that keeps costs down. For example this morning I saw they had a 30 can case of Pabst for $17.80. Always something on sale for us bottom feeders lol.
It's too bad, and I am always supporting less government regulation, M MR. That's a good Pabst price, though.
That's a Miller High Life characteristic, for sure. Thanks for watching, highlifeforme!
gr8 Review as always Ron~I may prefer Bud [just by the slightest Margin] however @ $9.95 an 18 pack for Bottles or Cans,it pretty much is my GO2 "American Macro Lager"~super smooth, easy drinking[actually the drinkabilty of miller high life is through the F'n Roof!] BUD is $12.99 a 12ver,which is a tad over priced IMHO,once in awhile I can find Busch for the same price,[10 bucks an 18 pack bottles or cans] so I bounce between MHL & Busch, both very good American Macro Lagers IMHO~and with steamed shrimp,Crabs,Crawfish,Backyard BBQ's....cant beat it for the price! cheers buddy!

Miller is such an underrated beer. Its a old good American Beer for a great price. Never had a skunk taste like rolling rock. Very Consistent flavor unlike Bud.

Drank 96oz (4 24oz) of this and im not buzzing at all. It a smooth, good tasting beer, easy too down but its not something I would buy again. Ill just stick with Malt Liquor for now. I'm still exploring though, trying too look for my kind of beer. Anu suggestions??

I love your reviews. Very chilled and informative. It also makes me want to go to New Orleans ;)
Yes, I think you'd enjoy New Orleans.
You gotta grab the new LIMITED EDITION labeled HIGH LIFE bottles Ron!!! Very cool there are 5 different vintage labels. CHEERS!!!
u812vh I've seen those, but I just can't get it all, u812vh. They look really cool, though.

+Andrew S No, I am afraid I have not, Andrew S. Hey, thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
thumbs up if youre drinking a miller high life while watching this vid lol
Right! Thanks for watching, Triyama. I appreciate it!
The whole reason I started doing video reviews is because I found that so many reviewers were biased.
@Rocco Leland lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
@Oliver Xavier definitely, I have been watching on FlixZone for months myself =)
@Oliver Xavier thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it !!
@Rocco Leland You are welcome :D
Finally got these here in Nova Scotia, Canada. Just picked up a 15 pack, hoping it's good.
Excellent, and I bet you'll like it! Thanks for watching, PavelGaborik. I appreciate it!

Well, I usually get Natural Ice or Keystone Ice, as my everyday drinkers. Thanks!
@TheLawOfParsimony I agree with that. It's a classic. Thanks for watching, T.L.ofP.!
@mexiluvsw Thanks for watching. I do intend to keep making reviews!
Miller High Life is my favorite adjunct lager!
I always enjoy it. Thanks for watching, samsquanch1996. I appreciate it!
Oh, thanks a lot, alexi626!

Imo, this is a 4.5, with a lil funk that separates it from bud and coors banquet. Extremely drinkable but not as flavorful as the others.
Thanks for watching, tweezerjam34. I appreciate it!
Yes. This is a good beer review.
Steve Kim Thanks, Steve Kim. I appreciate you watching!
Yeah, my father used to drink it back in the 1970s, before he got in to light beers.
Good review. Good beer
Thanks, and I agree. And, I appreciate you watching, Joshua Kennedy!

Well, I think your score is probably in line with quite a few people, Michael Honest Beer Review. I appreciate you watching!
What’s the reason for pouring it aggressively?
Okay, but let's take into account that this video was made 6.5 years ago, so lots has changed, price wise, bd7803.
Ronald Theriot Yes I agree though this was shortly before more inflation and price increases. I admit these beers were a little cheaper not too long ago. I hope they stop going up on it. Miller High life and Pabst Blue Ribbon jumped up in price the most in my opinion.
does not spoil for simple fact that it sells really quickly
I buy cans too, quarts or pints
Oh, okay.
It's weird, because I think it would be popular up there. Thanks for watching, whiteymacRDS!
Have you seen the harley davidson collecter can series? Pretty cool. Great lacing with this beer. Cheers bro. Keep the vids coming. I been watching all day on my day off
I don't recall seeing that. Thanks for watching, ghost hunter. I appreciate your support!
Hey Ron if you have any High Lifes left from your recent 18 pack could you revisit the beer maybe, or do you not have anything else to say? I noticed you re-visited Genuine Draft but not this..
Oh, I've revisited it, JCook3123.
Yes, I sure have seen that series, Ted Hakes!
Lovely cheap corn tasty legend of a beer..many more will be in my future I predict 😎
Same, here, Cliff!
I really enjoy this beer, its a good beer just to have a beer and to get away from the craft beers every now and then.
I agree with that, and yes, I am an "aggressive pour" guy.
@@ronaldtheriot haha you sure are ;)
I do like Miller (High Life). I still call it "Miller" and most folks think I'm talking "Miller Lite". There are a few bars that have High Life in bottles but I don't think I've ever seen it on tap. Also I think Miller has the best lacing in the glass out of all the "Big 3".
I can get Miller High Life on draft in Harahan, Louisiana.
I think it was a 30-pack that I bought ($17.99), actually. Yes, I have some left, and I'm planning to revisit this beer in Novermber, JCook. By the way, I drank two, today, and I really enjoyed 'em.
One of the first beers I've had now. It is in my opinion etter than coors and is smoother.
You've got to call it, as you see it. Thanks for watching, NewWaveFan1. I appreciate it!
I know. I think it's a cool-looking bottle, too.
This is definitely one of my favorites! 👍 Great for a day at the lake, also are you French?
I agree, and my heritage is actually mostly German. Thanks for watching, Jonathan King. I appreciate it!
@ronaldtheriot By the way is the Fat Tire beer review in the works?
Yes, and I just recently revisited it.
most underrated beer 😋
I agree.
@coverfire32 Maybe Budweiser's a bit harsh, but I never found it flavorless.
Picked up a 30 pack for 15.99 can't beat that...
That is a good deal, csgp! Thanks for watching!
