Panamalai Talagirisvara Temple
It is a hill station. From the moment I saw Isan's Lingathirumeni, the goddess of grace in the cave-like rocky outcrops, the temple's antiquity increased, and my interest in visiting them increased. The site was called Panaimalai and was in the Villupuram District. The shrine known as Talagirisvarar is for Lord Shiva. It has Pallava trade mark ‘Somaskanda panel’ built by Narasimhavarman II, also known as Rajasimhan. This 7th Century structure has a Vimana which mirrors the Kailasanathar temple of Kanchipuram.
One of the ancient glories of this temple is the 1,300-year-old painting found here. The beautiful Somaskandar depicts this beautiful painting found on the northwest side of the temple. Those who first visit this temple can see that it is inhabited by the construction of different periods.

Bottom of the hill: Vinayagar Sannathi, Kannimar Alayam
Middle of the hill: Durgai / Mahishasura Mardini Sannathi
Top of the hill: Thalagireeswarar temple, a 1,300-year-old painting
