    G'day Luke! It's been a long time since I bought chips, but I'm thinking 4 dollars of chips might only feed one of you, but I could be wrong! And probably am! I climbed Uluru in the late 80s, But didn't make it all the way, my cousin was waiting in the car down below, and it took me ages to get halfway there, my heart was thumping like a bass drum, and both my legs were starting to get wobbly, I turned around and headed back down again, by the time I got back to the bottom my legs were absolute jelly. I never was the fittest of blokes. Flat ground for me, or minimal slopes. So I booked a flight on a hot air balloon to see it from the sky, My cousin wanted to keep his feet on the ground, At four in the morning I'm ready and waiting, A knock at the door, The winds not right, so no flights today! A few hours later, and we're in the car heading home. But it was still worth it! Cheers Mate!

      Hello there @wayne armstrong your right mate...$4 these days doesnt get you much at all. However we have quite a niche little milk bar locally and still can get a good feed of chips for around $5. Add chicken salt and it's a win win😁
      I am sorry to hear that you never got to go on that balloon ride either Wayne,..however you are a braver man than I. Not sure I could do a ride in a balloon but I'd love to think I could. The heights would get me😬😬😬
      Cheers heaps for watching mate👍👍⛏️

    Nice one, Luke, Zavier and Dominic! Good weather, and money for hot chips!
    Laneways! While it'd be hard to make any finds on inner city bluestone cobbles, the grassy lanes in the outer suburbs as old as the country towns, we're thinking right away of where much of the bluestone ballast for railway tracks were quarried, there's a grassy lane leading down from the volcanic vents being quarried, to one of the original hotels that marked the first boundaries for the Port Phillip District, the Border Inn for the East, before the start of the Gippsland District, now the Berwick Inn, there was one in Werribee, to the West, and at Sunbury to the North.
    Laneways! That you've brought that up for re-mapping where activity took place before the roads were realigned, before shires and councils they'd institute a "roads board", odd names like "old coach road", the paths along creeks, between a church up the hill and the nearest milk bar, which used to be the general store, and detecting on what today are bike paths, but used to be the horse's bridle trail or walking shank's pony along the trail, they'd be checking their fob watch running late for service and off falls the sovereign case, no coin into the tray this Sunday, padre! (If you hadn't seen, William "The History Digging Kangaroo" dug an 1834 William IV half crown in nice condition latest episode, how ace, that.)
    I'll be loitering in a laneway and the pub has a nicely tiled old fireplace, if it has survived the renovations. The upper balcony on the triangular corner original pub still there, used to host brass bands playing to the audience in the middle of the Gippsland Road, should detect there too! Bandstand! Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren.

      Wow wow wow @Gabi you certainly know your stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your comment above and the way you described it all, really made me feel like I was transported back in time! It really makes you take a second look at every inch of ground and what it once was...or the people who passed over it.
      Thanks so much again Gabi, I'm really glad you enjoyed watching this hunt. Cheers heaps😊⛏️

      Thanks heaps for watching @DetectingOz it was pretty cool to check out the old woolshed site but I wasn't super hopeful being there. That laneway was a ripper though and a place we need to attack again soon for more hot chips money👌 Cheers heaps Gazz👍👍

      @@DigItDetecting Excellent! I’m enjoting watching all of the videos of these many new detectors hitting the market from Minelab, Nokta and now Garrett. It’s time to see what XP does next. It’s a great time to be a metal detector consumer with all the great new choices as the manufacturers are fighting for marketshare with adding more tech at competetivie prices for their machines!

    • @DigItDetecting
      @DigItDetecting  5 місяців тому +1

      I couldn't agree more @Stack Silver I can remember when I first started out and everything was so expensive! Now as you say there is a lot more market share. Giving more bang for your dollar. A fantastic time to be involved in the metal detecting world🙂

    Thanks for sharing another great video Luke. A bit disappointing the first site didn't produce the goods but still looks like a great machine as it made-up for it's self on the second site. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one. Cheers mate. 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🤜🤛

      Thanks heaps for watching @New Zealand Earthmover we are pretty lucky with the milk bar we visit too mate. $5 still gets you a really decent size bag of hot chips. Add a little chicken salt and it's a perfect end to the day👌 Gone are the good old days when $2 would buy you more than you could eat though! Thanks again mate👍👍⛏️
