    I completely agree I always bring my bag in but one thing I feel a lot of drivers are doing wrong is completely sealing the bag I use bags with zippers and I always leave it a little open on one side to vent if you don't do this with some foods it will get really steamy and wet inside the bag and ruins some foods like anything crispy or on bread

      That is one ☝️ thing that I do like about the DoorDash bag 💼 is that it is designed to vent.

    I know this is off topic, but what do you all do about reassigning orders while mult-apping? Last weekend, I did DD by itself to get my completion rate back up. I am reassigning a lot of orders (3 or 4 per day) while multiapping on weekends. I pick restaurants that are usually quick. Restaurants open the lobby one day, then close the next. Restaurant has unavailable items and customer not answering. Yesterday, had a no door/phone/text answer with 2 other deliveries in the car. There are so many things that can go wrong, and it seems like the universe knows when I need everyone to be on top of things. It is so frustrating. Is 4 unassigns per day a lot for DD? I've kept it above 85%, but I start getting nervous at about 87%

      I’ll unassign one order a week on average. I normally complete 45 to 60 deliveries a week. Unassighning 3 to 4 deliveries a day is excessive. I’ve been doing food delivery for 3 years now. I have 5,000+ lifetime deliveries across all apps. After you’ve been doing it long enough, you will get a feel for which deliveries to accept that most likely will be trouble free. The pay, the restaurant and the neighborhood it’s going to are the 3 best indicators of how well the whole thing will go. Granted, there can always be an unforeseen problem. Most problems occur from low paying orders going to a low income neighborhood and the customer gives little to no instruction at the drop off (No gate code, no Apt number, no number on the mailbox, house, apartment building or Apt door, etc.). Some restaurants are notorious for being slow, especially at lunch or dinner rush. I use to take fast food deliveries at the beginning. Now I will only consider Chick-fil-A when the pay is high and the miles are low.

      Hey 👋 Bob... I’m a lot like you in that I don’t unassigned many orders myself. I think it starts with choosing the right orders to begin with. In my marketplace in Fort Wayne, I refuse any Chick-fil-A orders because they are always so jam packed and the wait is so long. Great 👍 restaurants and great people, just too busy.
      Thanks buddy 😊 as always for our conversation 🙏

      @@McFallRI Fortunately for me, the 2 Chick-fil-A restaurants I pick up from in my marketplace are well managed and on the ball. McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, and especially Wendy’s are all a waste of time in my marketplace. There’s only one KFC that’s good and fast.

      In my marketplaces McDonalds (if you pick the right one) are decent, and KFC is always spot on... Taco 🌮 Bell 🛎 depends on if the moon 🌙 and stars ⭐️ are aligned properly LoL 😂

      Hey Tina Marie thanks for the question 🙋🏽‍♀️
      The answer is quite simple … if you do that combined with taking a picture when you leave it at the door with your hot 🥵 bag 💼 in the picture or hand it to them out of your hot 🥵 bag 💼 if it’s a hand it to me, the customer knows that you did your best efforts. We are in a customer service business and this is part of giving great customer service to the people that we serve.

    I couldn’t disagree more with this!! If you take your hot bag in, you are put on ignore!!!!! Best thing to do (unless restaurant requires it at pickup) is leave it in the car, and look at your cell phone to get the name before going in! They will immediately come to help you,because that bag and phone gets you put on the ignore list quick!

      You are more than welcome to disagree and you do what works for you best! I think the bigger point of the video is the fact that many food 🥘 delivery 🚚 people don’t put the food in a hot bag. This is wrong.

    There's really no point in bringing the bag into the restaurant because there's only about 30 seconds from the time that you pick up your order and make it out to your car to set it in the bag. It doesn't matter if it's already been setting on the shelf because bringing your bag in only changes 30 seconds either way and it's more work carrying it around in the restaurant with you. Especially if you're picking up multiple orders it'll require a bigger bag to carry around. That's why most people aren't doing it.

    • @McFallRI
      @McFallRI  2 роки тому +2

      Hey 👋 Aaron… if you always get 30 second pickups in and out of the restaurants then I’m jealous and you live in a bubble.
      I rarely see orders done and ready to go as soon as I walk in the door and if it’s a stacked order one might be ready quickly and the second one not so much.
      Gotta stick to the sentiment I stated in this video and kudos to you for not waiting for orders.
      I appreciate your input and thanks 🙏

    • @aaroncatolico7550

      @@McFallRI oh NOOOO! I'm not saying that my orders are out in 30 seconds. I think you've misunderstood what I was saying. In fact, most delivery drivers have to deal with knuckle-headed restaurant employees who sometimes, I believe, like to stall (because they're jealous about our freedom..cough! cough!) So, what I meant to say is that we have no control over their preparation, but the time that I was referring to was the time that it takes from when we can grab it off of the shelves and set the pickup into our hot bags. I'm saying that there's not much of a difference between the time that it takes to carry it out to your car versus the time that that it takes to grab it off of the shelves and set it down into our hot bags if we carried it into the store with us. If there are multiple pickups I'll take them as they come and quickly set them out in my car 1-by-1 instead of just standing there like a zombie with a big bag in my hands and bumping into customers as they're approaching the line. I find that it's far less work and a much smoother work flow for me.

      @andytyler6252 2 роки тому +1

      @@aaroncatolico7550 I agree. But, I've had customers tell me it better not be cold when I let them know they are part of a stacked order. Just telling them it's in a hot bag calms them down, knowing the food sitting on the counter unheated before I arrive has a bigger impact on food temperature. I ALWAYS carry the bag to the door when I get that text. Kinda roll my eyes, but they feel better seeing me lug that bulky bag around rather than remove food from the hot bag to leave at their door.

    • @aaroncatolico7550
      @aaroncatolico7550 2 роки тому +2

      @@andytyler6252 it's common sense that most food delivery drivers already use hot bags. The demanding customers that you're referring to should already know that as well. Anyhow, go back and read how I've already explained multiple times now how there's not much of a difference in time (about 30 seconds) with carrying the bulky bag into the restaurant vs leaving it in the car. You can't control how long it's been sitting on the shelves & waiting for pickup. Speeding to the store might help with getting to the pickup sooner, but then you're at risk of getting into an accident or getting a citation that costs you in more ways than 1. Carrying the bag inside only changes about 20-30 seconds versus leaving the hot bag in your vehicle. Scroll back up and read as I've already explained how/why.
