#TheCrow
Bill Skarsgård takes on the iconic role of THE CROW in this modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O’Barr.
Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right. - Фільми й анімація
In the original, Eric looks like he plays guitar for Nine Inch Nails. In the reboot, Eric looks like he raps on SoundCloud.

😂😂😂
The look of The Crow (1994) starring Brandon Lee first inspired one of pro wrestling's biggest icons Sting and took his career to the top. Then it inspired the look for Heath Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight and every Joker after that. In fact the famous Joker mob scene from the Dark Knight was inspired by a scene in Brandon Lee's Crow. Unfortunately the 1994 movie was very low budget and didn't find mainstream viewership. However it's legacy is incredible.
You know what? I like Bill Skarsgard.. I have faith he'll carry this siht. I don't agree with rebooting perfection.. but.. I'll give him a shot.
Same here, I think this could be decent enough to have fun with. The original will always be the best, but Bill Skarsgard, I think is careful with certain roles he portrays in.
I’m with you guys. I think it looks promising.
That's how I felt about him playing Pennywise. Like, who could stand up to Tim Curry? His performance didn't diminish the importance of the originals. He just made it his own.
Action wise from the trailer it looks awesome. It has that "If John Wick gets hit by bullets" vibe. Brandon Lee is exceptional no doubt, the following sequels however made it look like the Crow did all the work rather than the person. Skarsgard will make an awesome Crow.
Me too 🙏🏻
Nothing will ever beat Eric Draven's quote from 1994's The Crow: "They are all dead, they just don't know it yet".
There's so much memorable quotes from Brandon Lee's version like "It can't rain all the time" also the scene where Eric and Officer Darryl have that moment where he talks about what happened to him and Shelly only for Eric to say "Funny, little things used to mean so much to Shelly. I used to think they were kinda trivial. Believe me, nothing is trivial."
You can't get those soft touching moments without those characters and to slow the flow of the film down by making the movie trailer seem like an all around blood fest since there were moments where Eric would sit there thinking about all the good times with Shelly also him playing his guitar which that scene him on the roof of his apartment playing it busting loud on such a small roof top of his apartment building and smashing the guitar and amp. You can't get those moments by this modern adaptation.
@@davidmarrero9608 my favorites that I use whenever I can are "I knew I knew you. But you can't be you. We put you through the window, and there aint no coming back. This is the realy real world! There aint no coming back!" and "Mother is the name for god on the lips and hearts of all children" and also "Its pornography!"
Or this quite " Victims, aren't we all".
My person favorite is "I see you have made your decision, now let's see you enforce it"
@@joshuadunkley1 Especially him quoting Edgar Allen Poe in the pawn shop where he takes the shot gun and shoots the rings exploding it. There's so many memorable lines and scenes that this reboot I feel won't have the same emotional impact of affect like the original.
While the original wasn't "great" what made it good was how sincere Eric was when he talked to two people that were a part of his life to help sort what happened to him and Shelly and to get his revenge but also do it all for the love for her.
You honestly felt like he loved her without having to see every detail of their life just to little memory flashbacks through the movie Eric had. Sometimes less is more.
The reboot will show a long af explanation of their love life and everything boring that we don't really need to watch or see just show us the reasons why Eric loved her not the boring aspects where how they met this and that.
Every 90s goth kid playing Burn by the Cure over & over tonight to try and brain bleach this trailer from our minds lol

Facts
Preach brother!
In fact I was just reading the original comic listening to the soundtrack. And watched this... the trailer is so empty?
1000% correct! This was GARBAGE!
I'm 47 years old, and when I first watched 'The Crow' on its release day back in 1994, it left a lasting impact on me. The darkness of the film and the way each chord the protagonist, Eric Draven, struck on his guitar seemed to reflect his pain note by note, especially as he sought vengeance for the brutal murder of his girlfriend. Through Eric's journey, I witnessed the agony his girlfriend endured as his memories unfolded. With this new version of 'The Crow,' I approached it as a standalone entity, avoiding any comparisons to the original. Each rendition has its own merits, and I appreciate this new interpretation of what it brings to the table.
Then you took the wrong approach.

In my opinion that's the healthiest way to approach a remake. It's another artists idea of how the story could be told. Just like a cover song, it's not supposed to be exactly the same, or even be as popular.

There is only one Crow: Brandon Lee
Exactly. I was just thinking about that when I saw the trailer for the first time.
I say let this movie be its on inspiration from the original. It’s definitely not trying to overthrow Brandon Lee matter of fact I think the trailer alone is reviving Brandon Lee cause now everyone is gonna go watch the original and the name of Brandon Lee is back out with the original movie again getting viewership.
However that being said this remake is nothing new because despite Brandon Lee’s accident happening they still went on to make sequels of The Crow. Bill Skarsgard looks pretty good in terms of preparing for the role and I’m sure went through so much training to prepare for the character & I have faith in Bill in this movie because he has yet to make a bad film.

One of my favorite moments in the first movie was when Eric was talking to Sarah (the little girl), and she says to him "you never even said goodbye." And he says "You have to forgive me for that." Not even like "well I'm here now and we can talk!" He's speaking as someone who's life is over. He's ONLY there to do what the Crow returned him to do. Such a perfect little touch.
I love that scene too. Wonderfully written and beautifully acted.
"It can't rain all the time"
First time he gave her a clue that he was there was it can't rain all the time right after he saved her from getting run over by that car while on her skateboard. That scene got me a little bit. The fact that he came back from the dead saved her and dipped with just a little message was a great clip...there will never be another descent crow movie ever
Also, he didn't want to be doing what he was doing. He had to. And he wasn't just himself brought back. He is a shadow of who he was. He exists... But barely. It makes him otherworldly. And was in pain at existing when he didn't want to and wasn't supposed to. There is that scene where he is angry at remembering who he is. Brandon Lee played the pain, this seems to be going for intentional rage and like someone who wants revenge. Doesn't work...doesn't feel like a spirit if he's just going to become the punisher.
The absences of Sarah is felt immediately. Also if they were going to make Eric goofy looking they could have at least put the Skull Cowboy in the movie.
This ain't the crow, this is Lil Birdie
One movie in the world I never wanted remade. Original was iconic. But I'm excited for this... It looks really good.

The story is originally about love and LOSS and ANGER and dealing with all these normal emotions.
That's why comic Crow doesn't even really heal fast. You see damage accumulate through the story. It reflects the PAIN and WOUNDS that survivors bear.

The Crow original is beyond brilliant, nothing can take the place of it. My second favorite movie of all time. I do agree about remakes; that they shouldn't be made, but if I never experienced the original I believe would really like this one, Bill is an amazing actor and the remake of IT was great, I gave it a chance even though I didn't like the original. I recently went through old boxes and stuff to declutter a spare bedroom to turn into a game room and I had found an original poster from when the movie came out of Brandon Lee in character sitting down with the movie title in the corner. So happy it has lasted all these years. I honestly thought it was long gone with all the rest of my younger age treasures. I had it framed and put it on the game room wall.

There was no building up of their relationship and therefore I did not feel the 'love' that Eric was supposed to be fighting for. Yes I know there were flashbacks. But most were of her being killed or graped and the ones that did include them both were extremely short and inadequate in making me feel their love. Still a great movie. @@punk-m Christopher Reeves may not be the only Superman, but he is forever Superman. There may be other crows but there is only one Eric Draven and that is Brandon Lee
I would like to see this one, if only to compare it to the original.
Can't wait for him say "it crowin time"
Taking Draven and turning him into a fuckboy really gives a new meaning to the phrase, "victims, aren't we all"
Is it even supposed to be Draven this time?
It looks like someone Draven would be out to get
@@Don-bw1euSkarsgård is credited as "Eric Draven" and FKA Twigs as "Shelly Webster", but the trailer does not really resemble the original film or the comic beyond the general plotline of the protagonist coming back from the dead to avenge his lover.
You don’t know what a fuck boy is lol
@@MrShubop Yeah the director came out and said, he's not going by the movies or the comics. It's literally just Draven by name, and they turned it into a generic revenge action movie. You have one of the most iconic looks in movie history, and yet you turn Draven into a racoon looking rapper. The fact that the director said he created the look based on himself from when he was young with a mix of post malone and lil peep almost made me want to throw up because of it's cringiness.

@thechiefsdude0 Stolen comment. You're not funny
He looks like emo joker lol
I'm a huge fan of the first version with Brandon Lee, to me this new version looks that is going to be good. 😊
Some movies just don’t need to be remade. This is one of them!
Well this is an adaptation of the comic "The Crow: Wild Justice", do not compare it with Brandon Lee's version, this movie is not trying to be a Remake or something like that.
@@lucas_aimarismo,
___They should have made that apparent in the •title•!
Also he's Eric Draven so yeah unacceptable. Mark Dacascos I could accept but this is so not cool.
I just hope that this version is at least better than the other versions that came out of The Crow, it seems that the only one up to the task was Brandon Lee
@@irosencrantz882
@@irosencrantz882Or Or, people who were actually fans of The Crow would know about his comics and already knew that. They didn’t need to make up for YOUR lack of knowledge.
Shot like a Netflix film. Doesn't even come close to the dark grimy atmosphere Alex Proyas and crew created in the original.
Facts
Modern films are a disgrace
Better to be shot like a Netflix film than literally shot
It seems like every Hollywood movie just looks so lazy these days. They couldn’t even try to use different quality cameras to make the film have a style to it, much less make it black and white. Nothing. Even a child could make this movie look better
@@slippingjimmys true, but the first movie is shot better at least from what we see in the trailer
So its literaly Deadpool witout the jokes?

How much you saw this?
Me: YEAH)
Im almost 47 too and i saw this movie when it came out at the theater with my parents back in 94. I hate remakes most of the time but my hubby somehow makes me see it differently example don't fear the reaper song by blue oyster cult. He found a different version more gothy and it was good but I still love the original.
Should just put the original movie in the cinema again

Bet it will be a million times better than this new movie. The Crow is badass and can't be remade ! Especially with the new Hellywood. God bless
It's funny how Gen Z kids like to use the word "Boomer" and yet everything they love and want to remake be it movie franchises or music was created by Boomers.

Same!! I was so scared though when I heard Bill Skarsgård was starring because I love him and didn't want him to die 😭 But thankfully, it looks like they finally made it through a production of this movie without killing the lead actor.🫂
Please let the narrative and aesthetics of the 90s come back, I only see a mix of John Wick and Batman but with an attempt at a series for teenagers
It is at this point that The Crow 1994 should be appreciated even more.
Nothing against the actors, but there are films that do not need a remake.
Exactly. The funny thing is, the story of the crow could be told again but not as Eric Draven. You just have to be clever enough to write a different story where a wrong needs to be righted and a soul's loss is too powerful to give up until that happens.
This isn't a remake. It's a different adaptation of the original comic.. which is why it's so bad. If they had just remade the OG movie it would have been better 🤣😂
@@sinistrdairy2971No it wouldn't, if something is already great, then it is near impossible to be better let alone similar.
@@fatarsemonkey it wouldn't have been better than this trailer? I disagree. If they tried to remake the OG movie I think that would be way better than this
@@sinistrdairy2971 Not sure it's a remake or an adaptation of the comic. Just garbage where they use the name Eric Draven and Devil's Night. In the original comic, they're assaulted after a car crash, not suffocated.

Okay, people.b time to calm down. This isn't a remake of Lee's movie. It's another version of the comic. This was a comic first. Just like DC, Marvel and everything else that gets different interpretations. It looks like they give actual deaths more poetry and plot here than the comic or previous interpretations.
And yes, Brandon Lee was the best. Bill Skarsgaard is amazing, but i doubt that he can have the same kind of vulnerability in his performance.
Thank god finally someone who say an objetive opinion. I was tired with that thing bout this movie being and insult for brandom Lee film
Estoy de acuerdo
I don’t think the makers of this film really understand how much of a classic the original is.
Agreed. Sucks all the people who do got dropped along the way due to studio bureaucracy.
All those false starts that could have been great.
They only spent 6 weeks filming this...
Because Hollywood hasn't got a clue how beloved this IP is.

@@martybalamb4174 People will always hate remakes, simply for it not being identical to the original. Especially for a cult classic like the crow. No matter how good this movie turns out. There will be people hating on it or even full on refusing to watch it for that reason.
My thoughts exactly. The wife hasn’t seen the crow yet and I haven’t watched it in awhile. We’ll watch the original and pass on this.
FKA TWIGS???? GIRLY GETTING HER SPOTLIGHT
I think who is talking is "Skull Cowboy" those that actually know the graphic novel should be happy since they deleted him from the original film even though they filmed his scenes.
Yeah well they think the original is the only form of that story. The original graphic novel doesn’t get the love it deserves. I love the original film and will always love it. But interpretations should be made and this looks like a new interpretation not just a remake. It’s taking the source material and reinventing it to a certain extent. Which I’m curious to see how it all turns out. I do believe if they changed their names etc it would have far less hate.
There is only one Eric Draven and his name is Brandon Lee.
Nobody will ever be able to play Eric Draven like Brandon Lee did.
No One! but you still have to allow actors to try because that is when you get legendery performances like Heath Ledger's Joker
The crow can be presented to anyone who goes through the right circumstances so different characters is an inevitable part of its story . I agree some reboots and remakes should be shot but this is one worth a chance and a budget because the crow grants the act of vengeance to the deserving and there are possibilities with this franchise

I was secretly watching 'The Crow' with Marc Dacascos about 20 years ago, without my parents knowing, and I absolutely loved it. At the same time, I think it's a masterpiece, and I don't care what everyone else says. It's like arguing about who the best Joker is; it doesn't make any sense because they are perfect in their own way.
Stairway to Heaven was a interesting show to the least...
You said that right! I wholeheartedly agree.👍
As a 13 year old I "borrowed" my neighbor's son's tape, and I would secretly watch it after school over and over. Now at 34 I still convince myself every time before I watch it "it's can't be THAT good." But it is. It really is.
