I love all your guest. I follow each one them. Dan is always so interesting w his history of cards. I do think the wording of being “pissed off” regarding SGC and PSA mis-labeling cards is too strong. It’s such a 1st world problem😊. I’m so glad people don’t look over my shoulder all-day and point out my errors. That being said, thanks to all of you for your contributions to hobby. My goal in 2025 is start a channel. It looks so fun. Congratulations on becoming the Hobby President, well deserved.
Great discussion. I stopped buying modern cards. It seems like every week Topps is coming out with a new version of baseball cards between Topps, Bowman, Chrome, Stadium Club, A&G, etc. Great remarks on too many parallel cards
This was true, during the 1990's, too. Topps, Upper Deck, Score, Bowman, Donruss, Leaf....FLEER! I like modern, but vintage is a bit more straight forward when it comes to knowing which is, the most desirable card of a particular player.
This is really interesting. I got into collecting in the 80s and the hobby looks like a dog chasing its tail. Everything I'm witnessing today occurred in the 1980s and 90s. The only thing different is the technology. The hobby can teach us a lot if we want to learn, but it does a crappy job on hobby history. Factory output is rare now, but I've found that reliable production numbers are only found in court documents. The other thing is that if you want to fix the hobby, you can either stop buying Modern, or contact your legislator and amend the 1973 Hobbies Act. The thing is that do you really want to legislate the hobby? Perhaps brakers only?
I rarely listen to long videos, but I'm so glad that I watched this one. That was a lot of fun.
Nice. Thanks!

It’s truly overwhelming. And I say that as someone who does collect modern. But I’ve moved to just buying a few singles each year like.

I certainly do not want to legislate the hobby. The law can deal with the scammers and if anyone is breaking lottery laws.
