What would you do with the char siu?! Seriously, you need to double up this recipe and make the whole entire pork loin! 😆 lol Grab the written recipe here: SeonkyoungLongest.com/best-char-siu

Hi Seonkyoung! I'm a huge fan of yours and of char siu. I forgot to add honey to the marinade beforehand. Can I brush the pork with some honey before putting it in the oven to make up for it?

Hey Seonkyoung I have bought 2 of these in the past 2 weeks from Sams, I cannot believe how tender and juicy they are and CHEAP like $10-$12 bucks for the whole thing! I just marinated some put in fridge and this shows up! Thanks for more recipes.

I made this for my family, it was such a hit that I now have to make it a couple times a month. It's so good. And my son loves this in cold sandwiches the next day, kind of like a Banh Mi on baguette with lots of veggies. I highly recommend this, you won't regret it!!!!

I'm so hungry after watching this.
Cha siew goes on steamed rice along with a fried egg (not sunny side) and drizzle of soy sauce.
It also goes good on wonton noodles or hofun (flat rice noodles)
You can use it to make chasiew bao (steamed chasiu buns)
    I'm hungry now.

We buy meat from Sam's club/ Costco all the time that size then butchered into our family portion size. That size of pork loin can be slice into 2 portion of stir fry pieces and 30 pork chops . So use half for this recipe and cut the other half for pork chops

We went to sams club yesterday and bought it. Gonna be doing the same, half for the Char Sui and half into pork chops. :)

I love your idea of using smoked paprika! I’ve see you also add that to other recipes unexpectedly, and I always think it’s a great idea. It’s also always in my pantry and I use it for Mexican cooking, Hungarian, dry rubs on ribs, pork butt, soups - so it’s very compatible with my palate.
Anyways, you are a brilliant cook! Love you always!❤

@@Yassaganni yes we are,$12 for a 150 g strip of loin more like it. And its not just on meat. It always makes me laugh on the english or American cooking shows when they talk about cooking on a budget, and its like, mate you have just cooked up 20 bucks worth of leeks!

  • @Karmakazeez

I can't wait to make this!! I cook half of the pork loin (split in half) just like you do at a time. It does not last long just between me and my husband lolol. The pork loin also freezes really well!! Sometimes I buy in advance, portion into 4 smaller loins and freeze 2 in a freezer bag together. Still comes out perfectly fresh and juicy when I want to cook it. 24 hrs is usually enough to defrost in the fridge.

If you spray some non stick into your measuring device then measure your honey it will make the honey come out easy and no sticky mess to clean up when you are done. Also if some of the glaze sticks or burns on the bottom of your sheet pan then when you are done baking put some water in and put it on low heat on your stove and the glaze will eventually get soft so you can wash it out.
