As a big fan of the book, I was super disappointed with the movie. This episode was a nice catharsis lol. Happy Birthday Crystal from a fellow November bday person.
My pet peeve with movies like this is that we have to assume that the characters in the movie have never seen a zombie movie before, or that 100 years of cinema do not exist in the movie’s universe.
That's a major plot point of The Walking Dead comic. The Creator said that zombie films, books, video games do not exist in The Walking Dead universe and that's why nobody knows what is happening or how to deal with it. It's also why they don't use the term zombies because in that Universe it actually doesn't exist. Because zombies means Voodoo in The Walking Dead universe not walking Corpses. Hollywood never turn them into the monsters we know today
What I learned from this movie is don't trip when you have a gun pointed to your head and that Pepsi is the perfect drink for a zombie apocalypse. And hey Crystal! Another November baby! Mine was the 8th so happy belated! 🎂
Aw man, I have a horrible kidney infection and I am so scared. Two of the only things that's helped with the stress and occupying my mind is the Hack the Movies & the Cinemassacre family. You guys have helped so much during all this. I'm going through backlog of vids and there isn't much left that I haven't watched. I wish there was hundreds more. I don't wanna finish the back catalogue. But again THANK YOU.
Crystal and Tony you guys need to watch Blood Quantum. A canadian zombie movie with practical effects, some awesome transition scenes, it's about a group of Indignious people who are immune and have to survive the disease and others. The gore is insane and the sheriff is played by the voice actor of Tommy from the 2016 prey game.
@@Jamesislame Inagree. I’m just trying to move on the best I can. Newt and Tony are the best. Maybe add Crystal. I always loved their exchanges. If I can’t have Newt I’ll settle for Justin. I used to not like him but he’s alright. He’s a lot better than Keiren.
Tony you are SO RIGHT about the Zombie burnout. It made it hard for me to get into T.W.D. at first. Video games are for children but there really was a point where every game had to have a "zombies" mode. From Halo to Call of Duty . It got played out for sure in pop culture. You are correct sir!
I remember seeing this one in the theatres. My favorite scenes were with the Ant-Like Zombies straddling the wall. The other scenes were, meh. Happy Birthday, Crystal!
Is everyone afraid to mention 28 days later at the start since the rolfe fiasco lmao, notice dawn of the dead was mentioned as the start of the zombie craze when it was 28DL
The book World War Z takes stories from throughout the zombie outbreak. It does an awesome job mixing different types of media into the story (police blotter, newspaper articles, personal retellings) It takes stories from all over the world and different ways people dealt with or were overran by the zombie hordes. The movie never captures the essence of the book, preferring over the top action to subtle chilling moments.
I saw this in theaters when it came out Summer 2013. I’d also read the book years before and was confused on how they would adapt the book to the screen. The book switches between different storylines with, IIRC, had an overarching narrative of the guy hired to investigate the cause of the virus, while interviewing key people involved throughout the process of beginning, the war, and aftermath.
The Zombie Survival Guide is an awesome read. Useful info for whatever world ending event. Also breaks it down into threat levels and what to do. Level 5 or whatever, wow. Like when you read a movie adaptation and your imagination is better than the movie
Funny story about Tel Aviv. When I was a Marine I was deployed there. One night right before liberty. The C.O. was giving us a safety speech. The usual stuff don't act stupid. But he meesed up the last part. He said "Make sure you have a 2 drink minimum. I repeat a 2 drink minimum!" He was supposed to say 2 drink maximum. As soon as he let us go. We ran before he could correct us on his rules.
My fresh idea for the zombie genre Typical Zombie apocalypse but the zombies occasionally blurt out random words like "tacos" or "tampons" it would have a comedy spin. Another idea is a POV movie like (Hardcore Henry) we see a survivor get bit and turn, the rest of the movie would be a POV of the zombie walking in hordes, eating or scaring survivors ect. It would be a more visual experience.
Any episode that has Trusty Justy is absolutely top-notch! Dude's got an XL funny-bone and Tucson's dope; My parents retired in the Catalina Foothills. If you guys are ever in Madison I owe you a couple pitchers at the Memorial Union Terrace. ..and please review Under Wraps.
I have a chihuahua, but the one key to having a chihuahua, get an old one. Not always the case, but my dog is a chihuahua and she's old. Most old chihuahuas aren't as bad, that, or mine is just a good girl, probably the latter.
For a theater experience I thought it was pretty cool especially with the zombies climbing over each other. It reminds me of Resident Evil Retrebution. With the ending with the final fight in the white house. I see it as a turn your bring off and sorta look at it as a movie with an outbreak starting. I enjoy zombie movies that do that. Because you see how much society breaks down. But there so many goofy and pretty dumb parts in the film. But overall I enjoy it. Especially since I got a World War Z poster for Christmas from my sister before she passed away last year in January. So whenever I watch the movie. I like to think of her and our experience watching the film

Happy Bday Crystal! Question. Which one of the HTM crew would be the person who gets bit and hides it in a zombie movie. My pick is def Tony. He would be too famous to turn imo.
You’d all do well to listen to the audio book (unabridged version). The story is amazing and it’s fully cast with some great actors including mark hamill. 👍
The zombies are back at the store. Johanna and Trisha are trapped on roof. Justin & Crystal try to make a cure, but Tony wants to talk about some Brad Pitt movie with them first.
Why wasn't the Unrated cut reviewed like you guys did with Dawn Of The Dead? It makes it a much better film. Unlike Dawn where it just boosts it a bit.
I have a chihuahua and she is very adorable and kind but I do agree that they can be very annoying but I love her because she is the first animal I truly loved and still do so I get when ppl don’t like them but yet I don’t lol
People have misconceptions about them but like anything, no bad breeds only bad owners. Small dogs are often poorly trained as owners just pick them up, you can't do that with large breeds.
The Dawn of the Dead remake and Shaun of the Dead brought zombies back into the mainstream (much more than they had been ever before) and as the boom was about to go away The Walking Dead brought them back again. The straight to DVD/ streaming market was filled with horrible zombie movies and a lot of video games started to include zombies as well. I think even the biggest fans of the genre got sick of it all because of the oversaturation of the market. Zombie movies went from cool and cult to tired and overdone in 6- 7 years. How is World War Z really any different from some of those straight to DVD movies? It did make a lot of money, but I've never heard people really talk about it even though they saw it. Honestly, I think they forgot the entire movie existed because it's so generic. On a side note; Birdemic also blamed the disaster on global warming, but at least I remember Birdemic, lmao. Also, happy birthday to Crystal.
If you think Resident Evil is underrated and this is cliché I have to strongly disagree. Both movies needed work but for what there worth I'm glad they were made into movies. There equally enjoyable but don't come close to a George Romero film.
Some day I wanna chill with Crystal drink bourbon and smoke stoagies..ill have to come out to one of those things where yall get rained out..I wanna party with Justin too I know he goes hard...haha

Brad Pitt's motive's in the movie was always based upon that instead of in the book, he wass just trying to be an actual "fact checker" of what cause WWZ and how the world responded.
