After having a 2008 Mustang and 2013 Camaro convertible. My 2017 Challenger is the best, and only muscle car left, since Mustang and Camaro was downsized.
I was lucky enough to get to drive a 392 Challenger. Not only did it look stunning but it was surprisingly easy to drive. It rode quite well and never felt lacking for power. Easily the best rear-drive car I've ever driven.

Was the mustang back then able to hit 60 mph in 4.5 sec? I am pretty sure it didn't, but i could be wrong. In a straight line I believe the challenger was the faster car, but of course around a track, the mustang is faster. I like both cars, but I always choose straight line speed over a track speed because I don't and probably never will track my cars, so in real world everyday driving, you notice straightline speed all the time. Hope you enjoyed you mustang. What do you drive now in 2018?
@@floored3078 cars usually hold or make more power honestly the longer the engine is ran granted its been taking care of the threshold for moving components are at better optimal operation parameters then when the engine is brand new which is why it holds or ends up making more power
just bought one of these a few weeks back. nothin but an ear to ear grin on my face every time i get to drive it....daily. the chevy & ford fans can keep their camaros & mustangs. yes the challenger is a heavy monster, but its also better looking and stayed true to its roots. moreso than its retro competitors. couldnt be happier with it!
Just got one non inaugural edition a week ago, 4.5 is sleazy I timed it on the drag at 4.2 and a 12.33 QM. I'm so glad and im going to get hate for this, I didn't buy my original choice a BMW M3, this one just feels better than some overseas soft feeling car. GO CHALLENGER
Nice! Enjoy it! I want to at least drive one so badly, especially an SRT-8 with the 6 speed manual. I don't care what people say, this car means business. It really announces it's presence on the road.

The Challenger is the last remaining MUSCLE car left. It weighs more, it's bigger, and it's focused on engine power instead of optimum performance. That's what I love about the Challenger, it pays the most tribute to the old ones. This 392 has a ton of torque and it's a comfortable car to be in.
Totally agree with you. I just saw the ad for the Barracuda and now I'm really worried they're going to get rid of the Challenger. I will be so sad if they do. Idk why Chrysler would do that though, it's an American legend and one of their most popular cars! They've done a great job with it and if they made the interior a little more stylish, it would be even better. The good material quality is there, but I think it could be a little more visually appealing. The exterior is perfect.
I don't why these fools like all the website compare the Challenger to the Camaro and Mustang. It is not a pony car it is a muscle car or grand tour. One look at it's platform and the difference is obvious to anyone. This car is built on a much larger and heavier underpinning and it's dimensions are another clue. The Challenger is in a class all it's own as a real retro muscle car not a pony car. Thus the comparison is not relevant. Love it or hate it is still a cool car.
if anyone complains about wheel spin, all you need to do is put much wider tires on the back and problem solved..... and maybe some weight reduction, if you want to be extreme

Yet another great video guys! As for the car, I cannot imagine why, in times like these, Dodge would solve their problems by dropping a larger engine in this car instead of lightening it up. With all that weight, it's still gonna have shit gas mileage and handling problems. And, it's still not gonna beat Chevrolet or Ford.
Lol there seems to be a lot of people who think that. I think the exterior looks ok but the Challenger is definitely the best looking out of the 3 in my opinion. The Mustang looks great and has a nice interior but the Challenger looks like it could crush a Mustang any day with it's size and front end. It's awesome. The Camaro's interior sucks with all of the cheap plastic and lack of nicer materials that the Challenger and Mustang interiors have. The visibility is horrendous as well.
Then with those super turbo engines will be a fast car high performance and addition to the Dodge family. Lets just say that hoping that they wont stop Challenger production for the Barracuda. How bout making the improvements then letting there be additions to the family. So lets make the Barracuda and keep the Challenger.
This is a srt version which is suppose to be a performance model. It costs thousands more and can only keep up with a mustang gt or camaro ss. A srt is suppose to compete with the like of a shelby gt500 or a camaro lz1. V6 versions of the mustang and camaro can beat the rt version. Dodge needs to step it up and add mopar parts to the rt and srt versions and slap on a supercharger to compete.
What is the speed on the turns. I am really concerned with the cornering. If it Street Racing Tech. The emphasis should not be on straight line only performance but all around performance to do what any other car can do. I drove the 2011 R/T but had a cornering problem. I slid when making a sharp lane change and would have went into a wall if not for the Stability Traction Control which is supremely effective. It was raining but I cars at high speed passed me with no effort.
I hope the challenger is not replaced by the barracuda. but I heard the might replace the camaro with the Firebird. I would like that. Do not quote me on that. camaro's kinda suck by the way. not trying to hurt any feelings.
Lifters went. Chewed up the cam and dealer found metal and didn't know where it came from. That was a little more than 10k replacing the entire short block. Then about 2 months later another 1500 for new water pump, crank dampner tensioner and belt. Because they thought it was a good idea to put all the old accessories on the new shirt block. Tires want bad. Just dropped 800 for some all seasons. I don't beat on the car because it breaks when I do.
Me too. The new Shelby GT500 is supposed to have 650 hp and capable of a 200 MPH top speed. That's awesome but who in hell would want to go that fast in a Mustang body?! Not me! I'd rather be going that speed in something like a Corvette ZR1 or a Ferrari. The Challenger on the other hand, stays true to it's roots, MUSCLE! You can actually take this beast on a road trip and be comfortable the whole way. Just the front end alone screams muscle. It's awesome and hopefully one day I'll have one.

Stay away from Dodge, the brand is shit. I owned a charger and last year brought my wife a New Durango. Both of them stay with shifting problems and just seeing the check engine light on on this car let’s me know it’s more of the same. It sucks because dodge is putting out some super stylish cars, they just come with shit durability.
Poor Dodge. When they finally make a car that can beat the Stang and Camaro in the straights (Hellcat), the Ford and Chevys focus on turning. Once again, Dodge gets left behind.
