    Thanks for the information. I’ve been trying to decide whether to buy the Garmin S62 or upgrading to a new Apple Watch with a good app. This helped me decide. I watched a lot of various app reviews, and yours was very informative and seemed honest.

      With the new garmin s70 in the market or hello birdie, what would be your choice ? Thanks

    I tried this but the algorithm really struggled when I was playing with my Dad in the cart. It works good when you’re on your own but when you play with someone it uses the stops you make (for them) as where your shots have gone even if they’re not your shots

      That's interesting. Were you using shot tracking on your phone? I just used the watch portion and left my phone in the cart. I really only used the phone to kick off the round.

    Been waiting on an app for the watch that actually shows the green and fairways so you can see hazards and what not. Interested to give this a spin tomorrow. Ive been using golfshot for couple years because its the only app for the watch that gives you yardages to clear hazards but I have to go to my phone to see the hole which I hate. This looks like exactly what I've been waiting for.

      Would love to hear what you think of the app! I've really been impressed with it. Thanks for watching! If you haven't subscribed please consider doing so!

      When I made this video I was playing the Callaway XR irons. Great irons for a mid to high handicap!

    Hi Good video.....i currently have the s12 and no other watches ...and am trying to decide between the s62 / s70 / Apple series 8......still can not decide.....i golf about 120-150 rounds a year.... I want something that can be used as a good golf watch and a good everyday watch with health stats........interested in what your thoughts are on this.....thx...cheers from Vulcan Canada

      If you play 150 rounds a year I would definitely suggest the Garmin S70. You will get your $ worth and find the features to compliment your golf game!

      I used a S12 too and loved its battery life. Now I am sticking to AW as my only watch and its golf apps. Battery is the biggest issue for aw but you still charge it every day anyway.

    does it track shot distances ?

  • @scottyach8766
    @scottyach8766 Рік тому

    Great review are you putting the calculation at the time you screwed up a shot or after? also does it tell you total round time and is it reading your watch for distance or your phone in the cart that may be across the fairway thanks for the information?

    • @BogeyKingGolf
      @BogeyKingGolf  Рік тому

      I'll try to answer all your questions - I'm not sure what you mean by calculation. I select the club after I make the shot. I haven't used it in a while, but I believe afterwards it did tell you how long your round was in the round stats. I believe it was using the distance and gps receivers on my watch. I left my phone in the cart and the distance updated as I moved. I hope those answers helped!

      @@BogeyKingGolf Thanks for the reply, what I meant was Do you hit enter Drive, Hit enter Iron, OR do you wait until you are walking off the green and put in all your shots and let it calculate score then. On my Garmin S20 after I have ended a round, I can go back and view the scores but it also shows the ball path in a graphic view. kind of shows you whether your all over the fair way or hitting consistently straight. that would be a nice function

      On the app I’m putting in my shots and clubs as I’m walking off the green and it calculates the score automatically. When I’m using my Garmin I select the club after each shot and then enter the score separately at the end of the hole. You don’t get the same distribution views you get with Garmin. That portion I believe Garmin does really well compared to others.

    Since this has a garmin plug in if you use the CT10 on your clubs will you get accurate data for tracking hits in real time?

    • @BogeyKingGolf
      @BogeyKingGolf  Рік тому

      I don't use the sensors on my clubs, but know a few people who do. They are not fans. They show all swings, even practice swings. They don't always track so they have to add shots manually and some have just fallen off over time.

  • @andre2you
    @andre2you Рік тому +1

    Did you import your data from the Garmin manually or was there an app to do this?

    • @BogeyKingGolf
      @BogeyKingGolf  Рік тому

      I had to input it manually which was a bummer, but it didn't take too long.

    How does it calculate the wind when giving you a plays like number ?

    • @BogeyKingGolf
      @BogeyKingGolf  11 місяців тому

      It is supposed to use the weather data from the apple weather app to determine those distances. Depending on your connection and frequency of refresh it may not always be 100% accurate.

    will this app drain your apple watch battery like no tomorrow?

    • @BogeyKingGolf
      @BogeyKingGolf  Рік тому +1

      I’m my experience it does not. I tested this on the Apple Watch 7 and while it does use more of the battery then standard usage it wasn’t terrible. Thanks for watching!

    Can't find this on IOS. Found 18 birdies, is that the same thing?

      18 Birdies is a different app! I was still able to find it. Maybe try their website and see if that will redirect you to the app store? Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I stopped the video when the word subscription was mentioned. If the S62 can hold together a few years, it will be worth it for not having to pay a subscription fee.

      I think it all depends on your needs or preferences. I know a lot of people who don't want a separate device and just want to use their smartwatch. Then you have people like me who love tech and don't mind switching based on activities. Thanks for watching!
