Can I add that I’ve had to use Garmin customer support 3 different times for 3 different devices and each time they were fantastic! They really back up their devices, so there is piece of mind when you get a garmin product
I purchased the Shotscope X5 demo watch. I got it for $75. It took a few rounds to get used to how to function with it during the round. But now it is easy to use. I love the dashboard...not as good as arccos but without a subscription, I will take it all day long.
I got the Approach S70 last fall. Overall, I’d give it a 9 out of 10. It looks good for a smart watch. It’s comfortable to wear long term. The usefulness on the course is great, and it’s fun to relive a good round using the app with the shot tracking. Also, the battery life is absolutely fantastic. I play four to five times per week and generally make a habit of charging it every four rounds (usually still has about 20% battery life, so I could go longer). There’s been times where I didn’t play much due to weather, and the battery has lasted over a week. I do have two complaints however. 1. I got the CT10 sensors for my wedges and putter. The watch picks up shots from my other clubs just fine, but short chip/pitch shots and putts don’t get picked up very well (or at all for putts). However, the CT10 sensors only worked for a few months. I guess that’s not a knock on the watch necessarily. 2. The weather feature goes crazy at times. I don’t know if this is an update issue or what. I looked on the Garmin forums, and I’m not the only one who has had issues with this from time to time. One day, my watch told me it was -2 degrees outside. The next month it was 94. Right now it’s reading 84, so I guess it’s about right today. 🤷 Overall, it’s a great golf watch, and I love the added element of fun and performance tracking the app brings.
That surprises me that you have the CT10s on wedges and putter and its not picking anything up. I wonder if there's a setup issue there? I do agree, that I dont think CT10s work quite as reliably as Arccos, or even Shot Scope. But having it all in the Garmin ecosystem is a big plus.
@@breakingeighty the watch didn’t pick up wedges or putter before I got the CT10s. After I got them, they worked great, but only for about three months. Not sure if it’s a battery life issue and you can replace the battery or what. It wasn’t a big enough gain for me to investigate the issue tbh.
I regretted the s70 but the sapphire epix pro gen 2 has not left my wrist since ive gotten it last year- its even got updated to have the same features in the s70 Worth every penny and better than the normal smartwatches
Hi i'm about to buy the S70. I only use my left arm to play, if i wear the S70 on my right wrist and then pair the C10 sensors will the shot tracking be affected? I also ordered the C10 first cause i'm choosing between an S70 and S62. Thanks I love your reviews!! I hope you can come to the Philippines to play a round
I got an epix gen 2 after your recommendation and absolutely love it! Hasn’t left my wrist in months. Yes, the screen isnt as nice as the Apple Watch but the battery life is crazy good and the health tracking is much better. I save money on not having to buy any subscriptions and the watch just works. Everything is well integrated into the watch. My only issue with the watch is that the golf app is lacking but distances is really all you need. I highly recommend this watch to anyone!
Nice! So glad you like it. I've loved mine. And while the golf function on the watch itself I think is great, I agree Garmin is overdue for an overhaul of the phone portion of the app. Especially considering how many products they have which rely on it.
@@breakingeighty yep, I think now that they have a bunch of products which include golf features they should update the app. It really lacks compared to the competition
Love your videos!! Will you be creating an Apple Watch best golf GPS apps reviews? Aside from the Arccos watch app, do you have any recommendations for free vs paid versions?
I'm new to the golf watch scene. Is it possible for the watch bands to be taken off these watches and then just use the watch as something similar to a handheld that I could put in my pocket? Never been a watch wearer. Thanks for the review!!
DO NOT BUY THE BUSHNELL ION ELITE. . When I originally bought the watch I LOVED it.. simple but useful, very accurate and had slope. I liked it so much I recommended it to my friend. Fast forward 1 golf season and both our watches haver had issues. His would not sync with bluetooth, and mine stopped charging. It literally has the worst charging design I have seen on any piece of technology. Google the review and comments, they all state issues with the charging mechanism. I will never buy a Bushnell product again.
He gives his best cheap recommendation in the video but it also depends on what features you want it to have. The cheap watch he recommends in the video only gives gps distances, the best “cheap” watch that has shot tracking would be one of the shot scope watches but again, it depends on what you want the watch to be able to do.
Garmin customer service is the worst... overpriced product with underwhelming customer service. They scam their customers by forcing them into paying for upgrade when their products fails prematurely
@@jayfominhe recommends every watch then has an overall winner recommendation. Sure, but what about the other 5 recommendations you made in the video. Get outta here.
@@mdstrobe what are you complaining about? At first you’re mad because you say he doesn’t say which one is the best but he clearly does give his best recommendation. Then you’re upset because he recommends 5 watches? He’s giving a variety of options because not everyone is going to want the same watch or have the same budget for watches. He gives a couple cheap but good watches for strictly GPS distances, he gives you a couple of recommendations that include shot tracking, he gives you the best higher end options and then gives his best overall recommendation. What are you mad about? You’re supposed to listen to why he’s recommending each of the watches and for what reasons, then you can determine which one is gonna fit into what you want and can afford.

I’ve had the Epix Gen2 for almost 2 years now and I love it. The golf features and virtual caddie are fantastic.
Totally agree!

Besides the apple ultra 2, what is the best watch to pair with arccos app (android user)??

How different would you say the T11 is from the T9? Looking at both right now, but could get the T9 for under $200..
Love your videos!! Will you be creating an Apple Watch best golf GPS apps reviews? Aside from the Arccos watch app, do you have any recommendations for free vs paid versions?
How would you compare the T11 to the old T9? Is there enough new in the T11 to warrant spending an extra $100 or so?
Got the Epix Gen2 for £379 in the UK after watching one of your videos
Are you going to be reviewing the Garmin Fenix 8 for golf?
Yessir! Mine should arrive any day now, and plan to get content up as quickly as I can!
I have the Arccos with the Pro Link. Are there any reasons why I couldn't also use a Golf watch at the same time on the course? Pros? Cons?
Nope! That's actually what I personally do these days. I use the Link Pro for Arccos, and then use my Garmin Epix for GPS data.
I'm new to the golf watch scene. Is it possible for the watch bands to be taken off these watches and then just use the watch as something similar to a handheld that I could put in my pocket? Never been a watch wearer. Thanks for the review!!
Maybe? But if you were doing that I'd probably get a Garmin G12 - which is basically an S12 without being a watch.
Great review! Is Garmin Z30 rangefinder review coming out?
Yes! Written review is here: breakingeighty.com/garmin-approach-z30-review
Video version coming either tomorrow or Monday.
All I want is to be able to use 18 birdies on my samsung watch, but sadly it's only supported on apple and regular android os.
Referral code doesn't work in Europe
Six months after buying the S70 the display went dirty
Got any links for us canadians ?
Good question! I honestly never know which programs work internationally or not. Something specific you're looking to pick up?
Garmin s70!
