  • Last to first! In one of the greatest one-off rides of all-time, Jeffrey Herlings came over to the AMA Pro Motocross Championship for the final round of the series in 2017 to try his hand at a Pro Motocross National. He walked into a conclusion of a title fight between Eli Tomac and Marvin Musquin, but Herlings showed up ready during an off-weekend in the MXGP World Championship series. in this first moto of the day, Herlings and Tomac ended up together out front battling for the lead before Tomac ended up going down. That left a clear path for Herlings to lead every single lap of his Pro Motocross debut and take a head turning first moto victory.
Moto two? That was even more incredible. Last to first! See how it happened, right here.

Herlings was a 450 rookie, on a borrowed bike he rode 1 time before in a different country on a schedule he wasn't used to.
The fact this was his rookie year is whats most insane.

If he had listened to what Ryan hughes says about his body positioning he would have won a lot more. Imo

Herlings style was oozing confidence back then. So sad that he got hurt so much and couldn't keep this style and speed because it was a treat to watch!

I remember hearing that people hardly acknowledged Herlings’ win when he was on the podium. Bad look if that’s true

The entire point of this channel is to showcase old motos, hence the title "Video Vault"

Old motos were way better. That’s the point of this channel egghead.

I'm not a big Chase Sexton fan, and Herlings is my 3rd or 4th favorite rider of all time. However, I have to say that Sextons ride was a little more impressive. Chase came from literally 40th and made a pass for 1st on the second half of the very last lap. While Herlings ride was still amazing, if Marvin wouldn't have crashed with 2 to go then Herlings wouldn't have won the moto.

From Italy, in the second moto, Herlings in the start crashed and was last. From last to first. He recovered about 20 secondi. Segui con attenzione la gara. Ciao

Thanks to the engine failure of his 450 KXF at 2018 MXON Qualifying moto, Tomac avoided being overtaken by a Herlings having fallen at the start, returned to the pits, left last with 30 seconds delay, to finish 3rd in a 20 minute race.

@@nellyphare9846 Tomac literally put 30 seconds in front of Herlings the very next weekend after this. When he didn't have his very first 450 championship to wrap up. Herlings himself puts an asterisk next to this feat. It was teh last round of the season, nobody took it serious besides Herlings and Musquin and it showed. Musquin had a 10 second lead with 2 laps to go before he crashed off the track, gifting this win.

Herlings got up dead last after colliding with Noren, got up after noren and moved forward, Noren was 39th end of lap one. All facts.
Chase's ride was legendary, as too was Herlings ride here,
Jeffrey was on a borrowed bike in a foreign country on a track he'd never seen before.
Both legendary rides for different reasons. I can't pick which was better.
