Mc was 10 years older then Rc when they faced up, but still it took 3 years for RC to figure out how to beat MC consistantly. RC was a endurance and strength monster, not quite human and his hunger was 2nd to none but nobody has ever matched MC's precision and style indoors. 2 Seperate ways of racing, but insane levels of grit and precision. I see them all as a bit different, and what one was great at, the other had something different he was great at. All amazing riders either way.

Villopoto was mind boggling in rough outdoor Nats but seeing this video shows me that I had forgotten his ridiculous skills indoors. I didn't realize just how good he was in SX. Appreciate the video. Man, Stewart had some extremely tough battles and although he didn't win every single one, I don't know if any rider has ever had that many people that close for as many laps fighting every step of the way. Leading is considered easier because of the roost and lines but it is the difference between giants and normal racers. Leading that many laps while fighting for many of them is something only very few can do without crashing from that pressure. MC was one, James was another, and I would include RC but once he broke free of the pack, he left the field mostly. Amazing racing in this summary of vids! Im just glad I was around to see it when it happened. Man that was an epic time. I think it's all about having 5+ guys fully coimmitted to wining trhough several seasons. Again, thanks for sharing this.
RC and CR pushed James much harder. James was on the decline at this stage in his career. He could still win races, but he wasn't the James from prior years.
JS7 was always a better rider. They just saw a dude on the decline and swapped him for a dude on the incline. JS7 brought way more money and eyes to the sport tho. Hands down.

I always blamed stews crashes on whoever was setting up his suspension. Those constant front end wash outs and times in MX of violently getting thrown off of his bike like the suspension didnt agrer with his technique at all.
