    I fricken love the simplicity, only loading up and hauling around what you actually use most. I fricken love it! Nicely done.

      Thanks! It has been so nice eliminating all of the stuff that is only used every now and then.

      Thank you! This time around, I went with the 'less is more' approach.

    I think it is a good decision to use tool-boxes instead of all the un-packed machines. If you need a machine, you can grab the box an have all the accessories right at hand and you don't have to collect all the needed bits and pieces and take (or search) another box or tote to transport it to the building site.

      I have found it all depends on work flow. I quite like the most recent setup with a combo of boxed tools and open tools. I’m typically on sites for long periods of time (full house renovations) so I can unpack the trailer once and then it isn’t packed again until weeks or months later.

    What size trailer do you use? 7x16 ?

    Very cool! I couldn't find any videos on the accordion style base for your Paulk bench but I'd love to see more on that. Are they posted somewhere else?

      Thanks! It was just a design I came up with a couple years ago that suited my needs better and I wasn't making videos at that time. In the next project video where I have the bench out, I'll spend a little time at the beginning showing some of the details 👍

      Hey Matt- I spend a few seconds discussing the accordion base at the beginning of this video: ua-cam.com/video/IuibD8qaCkc/v-deo.html

    I like it a lot. I'm a contractor and I'm gonna take the time and do something like this myself. What size is your trailer? Do you find it hard to navigate the cities and park it on location?

    • @hsdesignstudio
      @hsdesignstudio  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I highly recommend taking the time to do it- it has been a gamechanger for me on everything from small jobs to full house-flips. My trailer is a 7x12' V-nose with a 6' 6" inside height. I like the size and am happy I didn't go to the 14' length purely based on your last question. The trailer easily fits in driveways and I don't find it a problem moving around my city at all. That being said, I do 99% of my work in residential neighborhoods and not downtown or in high rises. I spent a while debating the merits of an outfitted can vs. truck and trailer. The second was a no brainer for me at this point, though I do see the value of a van in particular circumstances.

      @@hsdesignstudio I agree with your thoughts on this. I'm finding it hard to locate a 7x12 tandem trailer at the moment, they seem rare in comparison to the 14, and 16'. I've only just discovered your channel so forgive me if you've covered this in a post, but do you carry a tablesaw, or mitersaw, or do you rely on the track saw and radial arm saw? I love track saws myself and find between them and a router, they can mostly eliminate the need for a tablesaw.

      @hsdesignstudio  3 роки тому

      @@itsupport8569 It took me about 3 months to find my trailer (tandem was a must). I do carry a table saw and mitre saw. They roll up and lay in the middle of the aisle during transport. If I don't need them, I leave them in the garage now. The track saw was a big game changer for me, and unless I am making repeated cuts, the table saw goes unused.

      Quite possibly. It surprises me how few contractors take the time to organize and setup their trailers. Especially in my neck of the woods where pretty well everyone uses trailers.
