@@chidorirasenganz what do you mean depends . i specified normal people . since the creation of m1 chip its still to this day much faster than anything a normal person can ever ask of it to do . gaming is the only exception but these arent gaming devices but they are more than powerful even for video editing since m1

@@abz7800 Again, it depends on what you classify as "normal". For me, 16gb ram minimum is the normal, or even bare minimum. For you it might be 8gb. People are different, yk
@@abz7800I bought an M1 Max Macbook Pro because it was significantly faster than my Intel Macbook Pro before that - CPU wise. If the M4 MBP is significantly faster again, it is totally worthwhile to upgrade. If you just watch UA-cam on your MBP, sure, no upgrade necessary.
The Apple M1 Pro is still more than enough for 90% of the users out there. I'll stick to my M1 Pro max 16" laptop for a few more years. 💯💯💯

As a game developer, I can't wait to upgrade from my M2 to M4. Those single core performance boosts really matter to me while compiling code in Unity, it just makes the IDE to Unity back and forth feel so much better.

M1 MacBook Air user here running a triple monitor set up daily. All you need is a display link adapter, and you’re set - had I purchased an adapter with even more ports, I could get even more monitors, and the max I’ve gotten including the internal display (not counting Sidecar, an Android tablet via Duet Display, and another display via AirPlay just for proof-of-concept) is four.
Assuming that you don’t wanna use it for any resource-heavy as displaylink eats the cpu performance to do the rendering

Faster, like lower latency? Possibly, it mostly depends on single-core performance and the M3/M4 are very fast. However, when it comes to the number of processes (VST/VSTi) you can run compared to the fastest x86, that relies more on multitasking performance.
Still, it’s usually plenty fast for music production

I hope this new redesign of the MacBook Pro M4 comes with the removal or reduction of that damn notch, which is so absurd, or at least includes Face ID so I don’t have to enter my password 40 million times when opening the Mac.
For us 3d users who are architects, or the folks that create games or 3d apps this is huge for us. If your a browser, photo editor or video editor this computer isn’t for you just stick to m1 or m2……m4 is mainly for 3d artists
I have the M1 and it works totally fine.
Personally, I'm still more than happy with my M1Max. BUT I'd contemplate upgrading if Apple gives us:
WiFi 7, Thunderbolt 5, better quality media engine with full AV1 support (even M3 encoders suck quality wise), sane SSD & RAM pricing + maybe even e-SIM support.

During the last several years you can actually buy iPhones in Russia 1-2 days before the worldwide sales start. These were from UAE as far as I remember, and were basically sold from the warehouses after the release. Those who wanted the newest iPhone several days before everyone else could buy a Pro Max for about $10.000.
In case of MacBooks, I think it's been sold by someone who works at the production lines in China. What can Apple make if they find out someone already bought an unreleased product? Stop official sales? They already did so since then everyone just gets their Apple products a little bit earlier than anyone else...
TBH for me it's always funny to see American reviewers fly to Australia to buy iPhones among the first, but it's already in Russia for 1-2 days at this moment 😅

you say M3 MBP with 10-core GPU --> 47561, while my M2 Mac Mini with 10 GPU cores scores --> 48087 (M3 GPU slower than M2 ?)
you say M3 Pro MBP 14-core GPU scores --> 68703, yet my 2021 14-inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro scores --> 71530, albeit with 16 GPU cores.
this is almost looks like there were no per-core GPU performance gains from M1 to M3 ? This is impossible !!
I had to stop the video when you are showing the GPU scores at about 10:18 in, just to run Geekbench 6 GPU metal on my MBP M1 Pro and my M2 Mac MIni... as the numbers you show on that graph can't be real.
All the MBP have the usb 3 on the right side and can be charged from there moreover there base RAM starts from 16 , its not something new

I like the 15 inch macbook air...if Apple gave me a 15 inch air with a 120hz oled screen I would probably buy it.
Controversial opinion about the potential design change in next years, but I actually don’t want it to get thinner. Or at least keep it thicker than the 2015 design so we can keep HDMI port and enough space for air venting for heat. I don’t they don’t heat up nearly as bad as Intel but… I’d hate to see that happen again
The thinner and lighter, the better. It makes it more mobile, which is the most important factor for a mobile device. Macs are still very heavy to me. If you use HDMI, you’re usually in a stationary setup, so it’s easy to just have a USB-C to HDMI adapter or a hub. Thinner doesn’t mean warmer. Apple hasn't even used vapor chambers yet; they just use a small piece of metal with air or one heat pipe with the Pro model.
@@xfghffhfg”Thinner and lighter” this kinda mindset is exactly what led to the horrible 2016 to 2019 MacBook pros, with terribly low travel keyboards, overheating, no ports.
@@Askellad101 The shift from the butterfly keyboard to the scissor type isn't related to the thickness of MacBooks, it was just a bad design nor it related to the heat issues from Intel chips.
@@xfghffhfg One of the main marketing points of the butterfly keyboard was how it was thinner than the scissor switches before it.
Sure, intel chips ran hot, but there were still laptops out there that could sufficiently cool it down that weren’t 3 inch thick gaming laptops. Let’s not put all the blame on intel here. Apple’s obsession over making it as thin as possible definitely negatively affected the cooling, and made it run much hotter and slower than the competition. It’s not like MacBooks were the only laptops using intel at the time.
Also, I’m sure most people would appreciate having more ports instead of a marginally thinner machine. I’m not against thinner laptops, but when it comes at the cost of decent cooling and ports, then yeah that’s a problem.

I would say that "on the go" you would not need multiple ports, and if you are on a desk you always can have a dock or any smal multiport adapter.
