🚀 Take a nostalgic trip back to the 1970s with Jim from Trek World! We're exploring a classic Star Trek book that you might have had as a kid but have long since forgotten about. It's "Trek or Treat," a 1977 Ballantine book filled with black-and-white photographs and witty captions. 📚
💡 Remember those Scholastic School Fairs where you'd get cool books and toys? This book was likely part of that collection. The photos are like postcards with humorous captions, aimed squarely at kids. You'll find references to pop culture icons like Charles Atlas bodybuilding ads and classic phrases like "love means never having to say you're sorry."
😆 Relive the charm of the 70s with these quirky captions. From Star Trek's most memorable moments to the dated humor that was the norm back then, this book is a nostalgic gem for any Star Trek fan. Jim goes through some of his favorite captions and offers insights into why these old-school references might not resonate with newer generations.
🌌 If you happen to have old photos, documents, or memorabilia from the 70s that you'd like to share, you can submit them to Trek World through the website or by mail. Join us in reminiscing about the Star Trek books and memories that shaped a generation. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more trips down memory lane with Trek World! 🖖✨

I hope you will do this again with more books. Great topic! Loved the Scholastic book fair as a kid.
Oh yes! I do at least one a week. I've done about 30 of them so far. You will find then on the playlists on the channel. I expect that I will have about 300 - 400 videos in total before I come up for air. 😀😀😀😀😀
I did not forget this book because we had it when I was a kid. I think my mother may still have it on a shelf or in a box. I know it was right next to another black & white photo book called "Who Farted?" I am not making that up!
Aren't these trips down memory lan fantastic? 😀 It's the little things that we remember associated with these that really make it worthwhile!
Trek or Treat reminds me of what we in the UIC Science Fiction Club did with Post Its and Star Trek trading cards.
I have this Trek Or Treat
I hope one day you cover the William Shatner "autobiography" Where no man has gone before, from 1979/80...is it an absolute hoot 😂
Thanks for reminding me of this one! I had completely forgotten. I just ordered it, and will most certainly to one of these on it. 😀
@@TREK-WORLD Yaay!!! I reread at least once a year, I cant get over the absolute idol worship the other 2 authors had over Shatner, but it was the peak of ST mania with the motion picture about to come out 😂
I don’t remember this one, but I’m certain, given my limited resources back in the day, that this is exactly the sort of thing that I would pick up in the store, flip through it to discover how lame it was, and put it down again. Allowances could only go so far and you had to discriminate.
Yes..... I'm pretty sure that I would have done the same thing. I remember the book, but don't really remember owning it.
Bought it at a con back in the late 80s.
Right in before TMP!
Cool. Don't remember that book.
