His transition is a lesson in discovery that all should take to heart. He has made the most of what he has and that is the ultimate goal...THANK YOU for sharing !
Love his attitude! Im on my 4th year living in my 25 foot 1994 class A Winnebago Warrior with my little dog Tinkerbell. I love living like this traveling and filming what I see! I m living my dream!
omg! I got a transit one month ago and you've taken a load of nervousness out of my No Build, thank you so much; enjoy the freedom and the Ikea tips are A-1! I have the 350 transit high top xlt and I'd rather sacrifice the car note for the house note and utility bills, can't wait for full-time van life 2022!
I’m so glad you liked it and that it helped! I know seeing some people here at the beach and chatting helped my nerves about all of it. Let me know if you have an specific questions
@@DaveOTG I have not but I've finished my no build, I work full-time so I'll start with small weekenders and I plan on uploading my videos soon, thanks for checking up on me. I see you've started doing build interviews, congratulations
Somebody told me to use cards to keep reflectix in place. Old credit cards with the paint scratched off, several playing cards at a time and I made some cards out of plastic milk containers. Thicker plastic like liquid detergent bottles might work. The secret is to make them flat and round off the corners, so they don't cut into the rubber gaskets around the windows when you push them in. They work!
Yes and bonus, it decreases the weight and less weight means more gas mileage so the more options you can find reduce weight the better. ….one little change won’t be noticeable but a hundred little changes will.
You gave the best advice, go figure out what you need and do yours that way! So true. When I started looking into the nomadic life, I thought I'd have to have a fancy build. Now I'm thinking a vehicle that I can live in and then build or put stuff in as you figure it all out. THANKS!!!!
So glad I watched this. I love his excitement. I'd much prefer to do what he did. This way, if you realize you'd like a different layout, you can easily move things around whenever you want. You can't do that if you buy an expensive manufactured RV.
I 100% completely agree with and identify with the not wanting to set up things and ending up sleeping on the bed in couch mode and never putting it back into bed mode ever again. That is SOOOO me!!
Woow that's exactly what we want to do... For a campervan!!! No buildt with no electrical and plumbing, but functional. Thanks a lot for showing it can be done.. Enjoy and be safe.. From South Africa.
New subscriber. Great video. This is exactly how im doing it with my van. It also always you to change stuff up at any time. And appreciate the list of items from amazon it gets too confusing when im looking.
I'm with you dude! I was never so happy than when I figured out that T 💜ank, my camper van could go through the drive-throughs! I wish I had never sold him! I'm going to do my 2003 Honda Odyssey very minimal so I can save up for a larger rig! 67-year-old senior female and I love it!
Great ideas. I have a low roof 2019 Ford Transit and yes it's 10K more for the mid-roof and then 10K more for the High roof then you're paying as much as you would for Mercedes stripped
So funny watching this and hitting the .55 time stamp to see his van is identical to mine! They must have been part of same fleet for commercial use and the remnants of a removed sticker said "Chariot" big across the front of vehicle above the windshield. Its most obvious when my van is dirty. We found ours august 2020 for $22k exact model and color. From a dealer in Norco, CA. So probably not far from where he found his! Too funny! I am also searching no build ideas to camp with my 5 kids alone while hubby works. So need things functional but not permanent as its our main vehicle for comfortably hauling the entire family.
20k for this is a super sweet deal. I have 2020 honda fit i sleep out of sometimes if i drive far and wanna get there ahead of time or something. For slightly more i shoulda just got a ford transit lmao
I am all about saving a buck and i am the queen of using zip ties to fix EVERYTHING but I wouldn’t trust zip ties to hold that giant cabinet, next to my kids, in the event of a wreck. Anchor straps seem like a much more intelligent choice!!
I always wondered why more people don't use the Ecoflow type batteries in their van. Seems I would save a lot of labor, especially those afraid to work with electricity like myself.
Lots of people do use these power stations for lots of reasons and are very popular for those not wanting to build one like you mentioned. I've been using and testing this one here: ua-cam.com/video/IFkpvcD1b0I/v-deo.html
Im planning to live on the van soon and looking for a good van. I think I found it. Im also living in california rent are going crazy might aswell live in the van if im paying it 350-400$ a month
Danny seems like nice guy, but his van is a hot mess. Just needs to be organized better. Lots of potential though. Good example of a no build van build out.
I got a brand new 2020 AWD Crew model ecoboost med roof and length with extended warranty 54,000 out the door. But somethings wrong with it and Ford Corporation won't fix the damn thing. Dealership admits somethings wrong but can't figure out what's wrong with it and can't do much due to Ford not helping. So waiting for it to grenade so there's no question that somethings wrong.
I have the 2018 350 XLT and I wanted to know how you plan to affix your max air with the no build because I have solar and 2 vents I want to put on the roof
I would like to think that it would be very unsafe to have all those items in the van that are not secured in place. You should consider putting in a bulkhead to protect the occupants in the cab in case of an accident.
I kept replaying part he said $20k cause I'm confused. I'm seeing much higher prices than that. Can u clarify that? Maybe 20k was down-payment? Or maybe it was used? Would really appreciate knowing (cause omg geez am seeing super high prices).
Hell yeah. Power to the we people! blackrock buys all the home and increase all the prices, people should be able to be free to use the public street because they pay taxes like everyone else.. Hell yeah!
I prefer the simpler vans because I know when I build mine I'm not going to go all out at first. Or ever. But I'd have to do a little more planning and design for aesthetics and organization than this. This is way too cluttered. I couldn't handle that in such a small space. But to each their own.
It was a boost for me to watch this because even at my 0 skill level, I KNOW I could do better than this. If I can't make it look organized and like a mini home in some way I'm just going to be depressed about it. That's just a cluttered dirty mess. I couldn't keep my regular house that way. FFS, pull the seats out even. At the end of the day though, he's out there and I'm not yet, so good on him.
His transition is a lesson in discovery that all should take to heart. He has made the most of what he has and that is the ultimate goal...THANK YOU for sharing !
And he was happy

Hi do you have a channel? Like to see your day to day journey as well. 👍🏼
I really like Danny's personality and frugalness. I hope Danny makes a channel to document his van experience and trips.

Hi, keep us posted on your journey!! Good luck.
With that much room don't forget you can use pieces of furniture right out of your house or apartment! 💜
10 months later... have you made it on the road She Hack??

Thats an awesome idea, I'm definitely trying that
I forgot to comment that I tried your tip and it’s awesome!!!
Wow that's a great idea I had seen the credit cards before but not making your own placeholders! 💜
This guy is my spirit animal.
Maybe drill holes all over the plywood that is under your mattress so you won’t get mold built up under there.✌🏼❤️🎸
Good call 😍
Yes and bonus, it decreases the weight and less weight means more gas mileage so the more options you can find reduce weight the better. ….one little change won’t be noticeable but a hundred little changes will.
*In almost 6 years of living in a van, I never had mold or drilled holes in my bed platform. It's a matter of controlling your condensation.* 🤷🏾♀️
Simple but looks functional and comfortable. Everything that You wanted and You made it happen...congrats nice job
Bed frame totally cool. Makes sense to me. Also, good advice on vehicle choice, and tailoring your choice to your expectations. Thanks.
Glad you like it!!!
Nice meeting you Dave at h.b. state Beach....Dave is a quality man folks putting out his heart felt content.
Joe saying hello and stoked to see your channel

the rails are called Skorva center beam
What about the brackets that hold the beam? Are they from Ikea too? What's their name?
Hes cool. Reminds me of John Ritter haha. I agree with what he said.
This seems like the most relistic and practical cargo van build i have ever see.
Good advice, not everyone is tool handy. You can make the whole build work simply and inexpensive
Great no build van! Looks good.

I like the facts that you still have 2 legal seats I nside
I really really like this idea . It’s very impressive . Work and living together it’s adventure .
really good video DaveOTG. I shattered that thumbs up on your video. Continue to keep up the high quality work.
Appreciate that!

This is really cool. I would love to know the IKEA rails for the bed! Also, what is the little orange wifi? Is that off your phone, like a hotspot?
skyroam is the carrier for the hotspot.

Does this guy have a youtube channel? This van is wat we need
Need to ventilate the bed platform.
Those plastic shells are actually really light and don't weigh a lot so you end up with great gas mileage
Very useful, thankyou for sharing.
That's chaos. I'm truly a minimalist but it has to executed properly.

IKEA

What was the price he said? 20k?
Thanks for the tour!

You must have purchased a used Transit MR. Six months ago I couldn’t get one for under $68K new.
Yes Pre-Covid pricing I'm afraid

@@DaveOTG sorry, with his no build, will he be removing the upper liner or cutting through it?
@@VanSheGoes yes he finally removed the headliner and put up a wood ceiling. It's really nice and easy to do

The one thing I struggle with with these videos is the lack of bathroom - did he say how he factors that into his daily life?
public bathrooms and pee bottle. He also has a 5gallon bucket
What's the Wi-fi product?
It’s a SkyRoam
What are those drawers holder where did you get them I been using velcro but they look super
I think they are Ikea
Baby safety item.
Is it Ford transit crew? What is the exact version?

Used before COVID pricing
What is the exact type of van? Transit what? How long? Middle or high top? Please
He literally explains this in the video. Transit 250 extended, mid roof
The Little foldable table where did you purchase that please
I think he said Target

There’s no stigma… sheesh!
Maybe clean the floor today.
Lowest cost/highest usage on any van conversion I've ever seen.

I need a vacuum, and some more imagination
Looks like a crap trap
Rivnuts, drill etc...not no build if you legit know nothing about building
