- Here's a killer tune by Paul deLay off of an album called 'Nice and Strong'. I never got a chance to see this highly talented and skillful musician live as he passed away before I picked up a harmonica and started playing blues.
Paul deLay is really one of the few, if not the only, player(s) that truly did his own thing on harmonica. He had such a distinctive sound and playing style and from what I understand he was a very sharp guy with a brilliant sense of humor.
If you like this tune I strongly suggest that you buy his albums. All of them are masterpieces.

I only got the chance to catch Paul once in Seattle. At Jazz Alley. What a force. He is truly missed in the Blues community. RIP Paul deLay. A true Blue Flame keeper.
Saw him so many times. My favorite memory was dancing outside of The Tippy Canoe on the river in Troutdale. He kept playing long after his set was done. What a Mensch. I was devastated when he passed, he was so vibrant and cool. ❤

Consider yourself a lucky man. I never got a chance to see him but sure love his music. I appreciate his writing, vocals, sense of humor and very original harmonica playing. A force of nature.
