Hey J. I ordered a set of WeatherTech HP's for my new 2022 Forester Wilderness, because of your recommendation. They're great! Much more robust than the all weather mats that the Wilderness comes with. There's more coverage and it covers the foot rest too. They fit like a glove, no sagging or slipping either. Much better looking and pliable than the original WeatherTechs. I would like to see a couple of improvements though. Like you said, I wish they covered the door sill areas. Also the, the ridge around the grommets on the drivers side is way too shallow. Even the factory mats are bigger and higher. But overall 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Well worth it. Thanks.

I love the silver Limiteds! I’ve always been a sucker for Silver with black accents, good choice! The weathertech’s are a great investment, even if you don’t see a lot of weather. I think they look better than OEMs and they will probably hold up far better for far longer! But thanks for watching and chiming in. I’m glad you got something out of it!
I didn’t realize the Forester weather mats were so inferior to the Weather Tech mats; or that there were two grades of WeatherTech mats. I will definitely be buying those higher grade mats aftermarket for my ‘22 Forester. Can’t wait for delivery.

It seems like a lot of those Touring features have trickled down to the Limited for 2022, which is why I think it’s a good value. You can’t argue the beauty of the Touring though! Either way, you can’t go wrong.
Thanks for the great review. Noticed your average mpg when you showed the screen was around 21.5. The estimated is 26/33. I know estimated is under ideal conditions, but that’s a big difference. Is the low 20’s combined more realistic based on your experience? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! We had just gotten the Forester when I made this video, so it was still within the factory break-in period. Typically you will see an increase in fuel mileage as the motor loosens up a bit. It was also pretty darn cold when we filmed and I had been idling it a good bit. My wife has only put about 3,000 miles on it since we purchased it in January, which is why I haven’t had much of an update! I’m happy to report she’s getting about 31.5 MPG average. She does about 75% city vs. 25% highway. The highway driving is mostly me. With good habits on long trips, we’ve seen 35 MPG. Hopefully this helps!!

Absolutely! So, if the dealer is recommending 3,750 at your first interval, it’s likely their suggested “break-in” oil change. After that, it should be at 6,000, then 12,000, and so on. Or every 6-months to 1-year if you don’t meet mileage. If in doubt, go by your vehicles manual. As far as LEDs for the vanity lights, I haven’t upgraded ours yet, but Diode Dynamics is always my go-to for LEDs. You may need to pop yours out to find out what size bulb it is and then go to Diode for that specific size and socket.
Hey Michael, thanks for the video. I just got a 2022 Forester Wilderness and want to get some better all weather mats. On the driver's side, does the mat cover the ENTIRE foot rest on the left? The old Weathertech mats only cover half - which wasn't good. Also on the drivers side - do you think moisture will collect where the factory mat pegs stick up? One other poster commented that his are already getting rusty. On the passenger side, do they slip around ? And, do the sides of the mats flop over after a while? Thanks again, Greg.

To answer your first question; Yes, the HP liner DOES cover the entire footrest, which was a great selling point. To your second question; I can see there being an issue with moisture collecting around those pegs, to which I hadn’t given much thought. The Weathertechs in my Ram have button plugs that snap on the pegs and effectively seal them off from moisture. I think they could have benefitted from that here. To answer your third and fourth question; these are extremely stable mats. They do not slide around, they do not give, the bend only when you purposefully bend them. We’ve only had them in for a short time, but so far they are 100% performing how I would expect! Thank you for your great questions, I hope you will enjoy future videos!

That’s a great take on the backseat cup holders! We haven’t experienced that, as we don’t have passengers back there on a regular basis. I have often wondered if they would be deep enough going around curves or over rough roads to hold containers. We institute a sealed lid policy anyway…so hopefully that will save us on that front! Does the seat adjust up and down on driver and passenger side? Looks like with the limited you get power seats on driver side but not passenger. Does passenger side just move back and forth?
On the Limited trim you only get the power drivers seat, that is correct. My mother-in-law’s Forester Touring has the 8-way power passenger seat. Every Subaru I’ve ever owned has had a manual passenger seat, save my 2011 Outback Limited!
I bought my 2021 Forester last summer. I love everything about the car. But the one thing that I dislike is how noisy the car gets when you drive on a freeway over 60mph. Its super noisy. Whats your thoughts on that J?🧀
We were considering buying over the summer as well, but decided to hold off until the new year, or we would have a ‘21 too! We love everything about our ‘22, including how quiet it is at any speed. I can’t say that we have any noises. There may have been sound dampening upgrades from ‘21-‘22. What trim level do you have and are you on factory tires?

I definitely would discuss it with your dealer since your under warranty. I have a friend with a 2021 Toyota 4Runner who was having excessive wind noise, and it turned out to be his sunroof. In the closed position it was actually falling inside the roofline. He had to “vent” it to get it to close properly. Something also to keep in mind, although Subaru has come a long way with build quality, they have never been known for interior sound deadening. I’ve owned so many, I’m accustomed to it. What seems like a little noise to me, may be a lot to you. I hope you figure out your issue, good luck!!

Thanks for watching! It’s a little louder on a cold start, but it quiets down once it gets warmed up. It’s normal for Subarus, from what I have experienced. The camera can amplify it, it’s really nothing alarming in person!
That remote start, is kool. Kinda scary, cause the government can tap into everyone’s phone and can reposes your car if you don’t abide according to the latest agenda😂
I don’t know about all that, but we’re so connected on a daily basis anyway that this doesn’t add much worry to my mind. It is a really cool feature though, and well worth the money!!

I wonder if maybe WeatherTech just forgot to include your peg buttons. Definitely a leakage risk otherwise.
One thing I hate is the backseat cup holders...they are not deep enough and experienced a couple times that drinks have flown out them.
