Im so excited about this topic, because I was once a victim and it drained my energy. Oversharing makes one's life boring, people should be curious to know what's going on in your life, don't just be an open book to everyone, especially on social media. AND WHEN SOMEONE DECIDES TO OPEN UP TO YOU, YOU'RE NOT OBLIGATED TO DO THE SAME.
I paid a big price for being an oversharer. But i take it as a big chance to grow . Am praying to God to help my weakness because in my weakness His strength is made perfect in me.
I used to be an over sharer due to some traumatic experiences I have had in my childhood moments. Henceforth, I am going be intentional about keeping a private life.
100% a private life is a happy life..... That's my life style by His grace, because people has hurt me so much. Then I used this strategy in my life, and is a happy life ever.
Winnie, I know you know you're beautiful. But I still have to say it, you're so beautiful and you've modelled a lot of lives in a more elegant and better way. Thank you so much ❤❤❤

Thank you Pretty Winnie for this episode and Happy Sunday to you! What really surprised me when I saw the notification and title of this video was how coincidental it was that I was actually thinking about this today, and even had to browse at length on different articles, to know the real reason behind this recent trend/syndrome of needing to put all of oneself out there. I would think of myself as an oversharer, though I had become aware of it and have been consciously trying to minimize it, after having seen the damage and harm it can do to one by living this way, but surprisingly most people have not really considered it adverse, judging by the things I see some people share on social media. One of the quotes I use to restrain myself when I feel that need to overshare or impress others is "Live a life that feels good on the inside and not one that just looks good on the outside". Overall, insecurity or voidness is at the core of it. People who are full or are wholesome have little or no need for external validation...

I can relate with the UA-cam space being less toxic. I started being here more because, i love the positivity in the comments. So a friend stopped talking to me for a while, she even blocked me. I reached out to her and she shut me out for months. Later she reached out to me and one of the reasons she gave for ghosting me is that i share very little about my life, but sincerely i believe I've been very open to her since we've been friends but obviously she didn't see it like that i guess. Thanks alot for these tips ma'am, i need to be better with keeping my business private, not everything should be said and i think we all should respect that tho.
Thank you Sis Winnie for this topic...I used to be an oversharer like a talkative but now I don't do that any more.ibfqct people think I'm now secretive. I'm grateful you discussed about this.
My family came from two different countries to the U.S. One culturally is known for being extremely talkative. So for me it’s more cultural instead of insecurity or fear of silence. But yes not all people need to know everything about a person! Regarding letting people speculate can lead to people making false assumptions and then spreading that around as if it’s fact (they created their own narrative). I’ve had that happen a few times and it’s difficult to recover from that kind of reputation damage.
I know I do not overshare. I always keep things to myself and most times I’m not able to let go of the bad feelings so they make me feel down. I’m watching your video on how to build emotional intelligence for the second time and actually putting it into practice now.
