I think dune part 2 is arguably the greatest movie ever and I completely disagree. He just wasn’t in the movie enough for that to happen. He was cool, yes, but he wasn’t in the movie for very long and he was kind of underwhelming for how much hype he was getting inside the movie.
I dont get the Zendaya hate. Her Chani was grounded, complex, and had range. Not sure what people wanted from her character, but in my opinion she GAVE much more than I wanted. So yeah, haters got loud voices, and I hope it is clear how much her performance was appreciated!
Yeah I like this version rather then her being kinda passive and sidelined in the books. I think a lot of people just aren’t zendaya fans so they just hate on her because of it
You don't get it? well it's because the change is conflicting to her lore. Chani is a Sayyadina(essentially a priestess). Chani not believing to the prophecy is like a priest not believing a certain thing about the bible. Not just "not believing" mind you, she ACTIVELY PROTESTING AGAINST IT. Yes it make sense that there's a fremen that doesn't believe to the prophesy, but it shouldn't be Chani. Make it sStilgar or Harah or anybody else that isn't a sayyadina. I know, an adaptation can't 100% adapt the book, but at least make it make sense.
What’s with the zendaya hate? I loved the character of chani. Admittedly, I didn’t read the books but I love that the one who doubted the prophecy was the one who cared the most for him. She was truly the most noble character there and it’s so sad how her heart got shattered like that.
@@vetzmovies Every actor hit it out of the park with their characters. If Chani wasn’t portrayed this way then Paul’s transformation at the end of the film wouldn’t have the same impact. And it sets up her ark for the next movie. Villeneuve is great with foreshadowing for the next movies. I can’t wait to see how Chani is fleshed out more in the third installment since Paul’s foresight sees she’ll come around, which will be heartbreaking and epic. And how Princess Irulan will be explored in the future.
@@vetzmovies oh and one other great example of Villeneuve’s great nuance and foreshadowing in his storytelling is how Jamis was featured in this movie (Dune Part Two). It shows the importance of alternate outcomes. Dune Part One set the audience up for thinking Jamis wound be Paul’s guide through his visions but that isn’t what happened in this reality. I say all this to point out the importance of subtle storytelling. Game of Thrones needed this. Great show just absolutely ruined.
I pretty much agree exactly with your ranking. Personally, Bautista is the only somewhat weak performance for me. He yells/overacts a bit imo. He has no nuance in his performance.
I can see that, I kinda just love the unhinged constantly screaming performance of him in this movie. Like his first scene where he just looses it on the poor guy next to him
There was really only a few lines that sounded too “zendaya-ie” to me. That being When she stood up in the silent room and said “this prophecy is how they control us”
@@maryokwara8985 What do you mean who cares? Who cares if an actor can’t act well is like saying who cares if an airline pilot can’t operate an airplane well lol. And I’ll bet you that Zendaya did not bring in anywhere near the amount of profits for the film as it cost to hire her. Every actor I can think of had a good performance in this movie except for her, and it brought down the experience as a result. Bad acting typically results in people wanting to rewatch a movie less, though this movie will be an exception due to the massive amount of talent around her
@@Isaac-jl6hq Jealous, you stress and talk too much....blah, blah, blah. I do not need to talk, the evidence is clear, fortunately for her you are one of the few, nobody cares what you think or say. Watch her future for Dune 3 and other brighter adventures. Thankfully she did not end up like Bella. Tah, tah.
chani was easily the most annoying character in the movie. every scene with her was this forced relationship between the two and she is just mood-swing central the whole time. Literally tried to stop the chosen one from fulfilling his destiny and was just moody when he tried to fulfill his promises to his late father instead of worshiping the dust on her feet

You know it’s good when he’s praising the one in last place
Fr tho I couldn’t find a performance that was “bad” in this movie
Austin Butler completely cooked the Feyd role.
absolute insane performance.
totally deserves a nomination to Oscars (and an Oscar itself)
Yeah he definitely deserves an Oscar nom

That religious rant that paul went on was honestly timothee chalamet's best performance
Whenever Baron Harkonnen opens his mouth i expect “This is wonderful, what is this cheese?” Bad Lip Reading has ruined me
😂
All actors should be on OSCARS. Timothee, Oh My God, set the bar high. And then Rebbeca ferguson, JAvier bardem, Austin butler my top 4
Facts all deserves nominations
The delivery when he yells the “that’s not hope” line was amazing
It was great but on rewatch I found it funny how they’re like 5 feet away from the fremen and he yells it and no one reacts
@@vetzmovies guess I didn’t think about that😂
1. Rebbeca Ferguson
2. Timothee Chalamet
3. Dave Bautista
(Honourable Mention: Austin Butler)
W, Rebecca was so close to first for me I just couldn’t get myself to put her over Timmy
1. Timothy Chalamet
2. Feyd-Rauth- sorry, Austin Butler
3. Jessica Ferguson
In my opinion Feyd was the best
Valid, he was incredible
Austria Butler was something else

I love zendaya’s portrayal of chani! Her skepticism was needed in the story and it was great bc of how much she loved Paul.
Yeah I think a lot of people missed that she was there to show Paul’s downfall / transformation

Honestly every actor absolutely killed in this movie. Timmy carried it tho

Austin butler is no 1
Zendeya was playing zendeya

Zendeya is legit the only role Zendeya knows how to play. Her performance in Dune was the only one that didn’t blow me away
