Jamie. Now you're sponsors are Matrix you're expected to use their products, I understand that. But the Slik has too much stretch unless you fit it tighter than most elastics. I now use it myself, but no-one explains the stretch and fitting. Love the work you do on video fishing education.
Jamie. I notice in this video on elastic, you mention 0.10- 0.11- 0.12 and 0.14 lines. However in past videos you have said that you only fish 0.15 on all rigs and it's only the hook link strength that you vary . Have you now changed from this since joining Matrix. I only ask as I adopted your original method of a single rig line throughout which has generally worked well for me ????
What size elastics do people recommend for :- F1’s? Medium size carp? Large carp? I have 5 top kits so was going to set 2 up for F1 fishing, 2 medium carp kits and 1 heavy kit.
F1 summer 8 10 short kit long kit 10 med carp 10 12 big carp 12. 14 but gotta have side puller snaggy pegs 14 16 that's what I use in summer dead of winter F1 4 6 elastic but you have to balance hook lengths to elastic otherwise you'll keep blowing hook lengths, I only use 010 for f1s in winter I'll drop to 0.8 fishing long 6 inch hook length pinging pellets fishing short 3 inch hook length same as margin if I'm through water I'll use 4 inch short for carp in summer up to 10lb 0.14 main line doesn't really effect pole fishing apart from if really windy I'll use 014 015 otherwise 016 all year
Dowt I'll get a response being this bid 2 years old but I only have 4 top 2 kits and 1 top 1 kit. What be the best way to have them? 1x 8-10 top 1 2x 10-12 2x 10-14 Or would it be best differently
Hi please can you help I have not been fishing for about 15 years I need a new pole BUT I have to watch my wallet I need a good length pole for carp. Please can you help me as my tackle shop wants to sell me what he as. Things have changed so much the pole with elastic popping out the side was a thing of the feature the last time I went fishing. Thank you.
Hiya mate, I'm almost 60,been fishing since I was 9 years old, I haven't fished a pole since 2003, a lot has changed since then, I've now decided I want a pole for commercials, I've just saved up and bought myself for birthday a diawa x carp, 350 quid for a 13m kit, it comes with 4 top kits, I've just elasticated mine with 8-10 elastic x 2 and 12-14 elastic x 2, not used it yet as we're decorating at weekends, but the pole itself seems a lot for the money, best wishes mate. And the top kits are ready for side pulling. 👍😉
Mate if you want to spend up to £500 get a map or matrix if you looking to spend under go with diawa or middy the reactocore is a grate carp pole but you only get two top kits but wow what a decent pole for 279 you could buy F1 shalla kits for around 50 so buy3 plus your one match and carp kit that would start you off elastic F1 I use nufish zipp 6_8 810 1012 carp 12 14 1416 u can get a middy universal cupping kit that will fit for 30 I fish open match's every week at tunnel barn farm fishing all my life
Is the puller style so much better than traditional? I pleasure fish with a match fishing ‘style’ so to speak, and my poles(Maver Moby Dick 12.5m, Daiwa Phantom 14.5m & Shimano Beast Master 8.5m) are kitted with bungs. As it’s impossible to get spare top kits for these to fit a puller system , I’m toying with getting an MTX1 Power 13m package...but only if it’s worth my while(hence question at the start). I’d value your opinion on this if you can help at all 👍🏼
I'm like you Peter you don't need a pulla kit, stick to hollow or solid elastic much more fish friendly, were getting like the yanks and yanking the fish in,ripping there mouths apart,it will all change again.
Pull a kits are not the way to teach the kids, fisheries ban types of rigs for the safety of there fish but allow there fish to have there mouths ripped open.it doesnt make any sense,it needs addressing.
I dissagre totally, the side puller isn't for pulling the fishes heads off, you fight the fish on the elastic as you would normally, however the modern elastic is so stretchy you need to retrieve some so that you can land the fish, that's all, believe me as with any fishing put too much strain on you're hook length and it will break, so no it's not about pulling theire lips off, or bullying them, stretch and the physical landing of the fish is why they have side pullers 😒

Best elastic I have ever used and I have tried plenty
I couldn't agree more it's confusing,and I'm a hardened angler

I see Jamie’s using a 12-14 orange slik in a match kit 2. Isn’t them kits rated to a 12 elastic! Can I use the 12-14 on my MTX-3 match kits
Shame no one has replied, as I'm think the same, as I have:
2x ultramatch
2x match
2x power top 2s
HELP 😅
@@markoxley7634 I've been using map tks hybrid red 12-14 in my match 1s for over a year had fish over 10lbs no problem.
Does anyone know, what those topset tubes are? They look wider than a regular tube for a pole.

Hello Jamie,I've just bought 3 shall top kits, what size elastic would you recommend to put in them
Thank you
Philip Taylor I would put 8-10 = 10 -12 = 14 - 16 you need strong elastic fishing down the margin or shallow

does any one use 4mm for the monsters?
When is the under water stuff coming out
Chris Ralphs now
When do you decide to change the top kit, after you've been smashed up or before 🤣🤣
Dont agree with pole fishing to be honest should be banned i see that many people foul hooking fish with them its riddiculus its harmful to the fish.
