Great vid again guys, and it would be great if you can show a vid in close up detail on how you tie and attach your loops on pole rigs and attch to the connector as i noticed you had a small loop when you attached the rig, i have a rough idea as i use dacron connectors myself but not many anglers go into detail about attaching the pole rig itself. What you did to the Dacron after you formed the little loop. How you attached elastic to Dacron. Really enjoy your videos very, very informative. Listening and watching to your insight of how and why things happen. Your thoughts on why fish respond the way they do. Has really helped my fishing. Can’t thank you enough.

Make the loop and cut off one tag end so you are left with a small loop and one tag end. Attach your elastic to the loop using whatever knot you prefer. Jamie used an overhand loop again here. Simple as that 👍🏻

Is it worth putting another piece of elastic over the main elastic when discarding the Dacron? That way you would just replace that of damaged as opposed to cutting elastic back??

  • @hydro95

Just out of curiosity does Jamie connect the Dacron to the elastic on all the other top kits with the usual knot and lasso ? I’ve seen some people now tying the elastic directly on to the Dacron like he did for the shallow rig

  • @kyzer747

I leave a loop at the pull end and after a few weeks reduce the loop and move the connector down the line and snip off the wared elastic. Also use something similar bit thicker but might strong and supple. And never had a rig come off it. I've lost a few to the Dacron connectors.

I was shown how to make a dacron connector in the early 90s before they were commercially available and there hasn't been anything better in my opinion. The only other way of connecting elastics I use was a method Andy Findlay wrote about, I think it was in Angling Plus ( the best ever match magazine), and that was just a short stiff loop of heavy sea line about an inch in diameter that you tie the elastic to and the loop sits on the PTFE bush. A super light connector.
