    next time torch the baloon off, or use an exacto knife with one quick stroke so when it contracts it does not have a chance to pull the resin out of shape.
    Alternately, leave the baloon in place, then at the end cut through the resin and all coats. Baloon, use a clear one, will not shrink in theory, because it has so much resin inside and out.
    Love the baloon idea, thanks, great video!

    Wow what a wonderful project. Nice. Hey I were trying to email you. Though it wouldn't allow me to send email. Not sure why. Hey I see that you have on a Alaska shirt. Are you from Alaska? I live here in Alaska.
    Also what is the colorful paint in your flat cups? I saw that you used alcohol ink as well. Though I didn't get to see what's in the flat cups. That is pretty cool project.

    Your planter turned out great!! Thank you for being so helpful and honest while you were working. I found out when working with resin I use 2 sets of gloves because of the mess it causes 😂 if I start getting sticky I can pull one set off and still have the other set on. Thank you for pointing out some of the things that can go wrong. If you were perfect I would not know as much as I do now thanks to you. I always tell people when they seem upset about making mistakes that, that is how we learn. We have to make mistakes in life to learn to be humble and forgiving of ourselves and others. Vital for humans to learn to get along. Whoa, that sounded preachy. I love your project.

    I tried the same experiment and each time the balloon exploded. Is the reason the quality of the balloon, or is there something else? Note that I used crystal resin. and I used baby oil iinsted of the craft mold release

    • @danarae-llcCRAFT
      @danarae-llcCRAFT  9 місяців тому

      Thank You! That is very interesting, I hope you didn’t get any resin on you. I have never used baby oil. My balloon came from the local dollar store. Not sure why it would explode, just be careful and I also have never used Crystal Resin. I’m learning everyday. Don’t give up, maybe you can contact your resin supplier and ask.

    It came out very nice, but I would say your issue was not the type of resin but the length of time . I’m familiar with the Ks resin and the setting time varies I’ve found. I would totally use this bowl for a dining room table. Great experiment with a good ending. 🫶🏽

    • @danarae-llcCRAFT
      @danarae-llcCRAFT  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your comment, when you say length of time, are you saying I should let it sit a little longer before trying to peel the balloon off? Thank you for the tips, I appreciate it!

    • @lindae7013

      @@danarae-llcCRAFT , yes, if you’re sure your measurements of resin weren’t off then it’s entirely possible that it needed more than 12 hours for good measure I usually do 24 hours. I know it’s difficult to wait, I’m the same lol, but better to be safe than sorry. Sometimes if it’s not too messed up you can sand down the imperfections and cover with uv resin!

    • @danarae-llcCRAFT
      @danarae-llcCRAFT  10 місяців тому

      In the video I would flip the balloon every 10 to 15 minutes to coat the inside. There will come a time, probably a hour later after the flipping of the balloon you will notice the resin starting to settle on the sides and flipping it is no longer useful because the inside is pretty well coated. So when you sit the ballon on your choice of stand (I used a tap roll with a pad on-top) so the resin can cure. All the resin that doesn’t settle on the sides will settle on the bottom. Make sure when you sit it to cure you place the bottom side where the balloon tie is. I hope this helps. Thank You for watching. Any questions are welcome.

      Thank You! Liquidy Split is a type of resin by the company KSRESIN. It has a faster curing time, instead of waiting 24 hours hardening, it cures in 6 hours. Making it easier if you want to add decal or other decorations. Thank you for your comment.
