What to do if your Zodiac G3 pool cleaner is not moving and/or stopped working. Inside of your Zodiac G3 pool cleaner is a diaphragm that when it develops a tear/rip will cause the entire pool cleaner to stop working. In this video I will quickly show how to replace the diaphragm on the zodiac G3.

Perfect fix! the first time......then a year later it stopped again. Diaphragm is good. Replaced it just to be sure. Still stuck. No bad hoses either.
Make sure that there are not cracks on the body of the cleaner.If there are that would compromise the unit as air would be getting out. Next, check the footpad and see if it's worn out. I'm attaching a link to that video where I show how to replace it.

If the footpad is completely worn out it's not going to move around. Also, make sure the valves have not been turned off

It actually took my sister, less than a minute to replace. I’m a native New Yorker, and not too familiar with pools. But I am a UA-cam junky. UA-cam has been my saving grace. I’m an 80s girl and creators like you, have helped me in so many ways over the years. And yes, we felt empowered when turning on and watching “Bessie” do her thing.

how well does it pick up leaves and other small debris? thanks for the video!
It picks up small debris really well. I prefer this pool cleaner over the Zodiac mx6/mx8 and defintely over the Hayward Navigator. I've seen golf balls get stuck and some sea shells that were lodged in there sideways get the cleaner stuck, but that would also get the other 2 cleaners that I've mentioned stuck also. As long as the leaves don't have thick twigs to get lodged sideways then it has done a really good job IMHO.
I am unable to lefty loosey the first step. It won't budge. Suggestions please, for this damsel in distress. Thanks
Try an oil filter wrench. It should open up large enough to grip onto that part of the pool cleaner and form a tight enough grip.

How long should the diaphragm last?
Hi Jennifer. I hate to say it depends but I've seen anywhere from 6 months to a couple of years. The link that I left for the ATIE brand seems to be the most durable for replacement parts that I've used. As of today a 2 pack is $10.99. The pool stores are much more than that. Hope that helps.
