- Melnet tune of the month May 2023
This version doesn't correspond with any notation sources I've seen, which is not surprising as I must have learned it by ear at many sessions and I've known it for many years.
Said to be from The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
You'll find it in the "Hard Core English" book (edited by Barry Callaghan, published by EFDSS) and ABC transcriptions by Flos Headford on the web.
Beautifully played. Thank you 🎶
We just dont get it better than this.
Excellent playing.
Thank you
Wonderful
Thanks! 😎
Great playing!
lovely playing! I've been looking at tunes from the area recently and found a similar version in the vwml
Nice 👍
For some strange reason,an image of Captain Pugwash suddenly appeared in my head 😊
My foot’s tapping so it must be good. Nicely played.
great. make/model of box, please?
Oakwood model 3. Oakwood don't make melodeons any more, unfortunately!
Sounds great! Is this a DG box?
Yes, it's a D/G, but to answer what you're probably thinking, it's got some extra low notes to make a complete G major scale down to the G below middle C.
