You can see how healthy he is from his behaviour at his concerts. I saw him 2 years ago in London and he was on stage off his head, stumbling, chugging wine, preaching all sorts. Saw him again January this year and he was so much more composed, clean, frankly normal, and appreciative to be in the moment.

Yeah I remember seeing them in 2015 and Matty was stick thin, drinking on stage and just looking unwell. I am so glad he is doing okay and I really hope it stays that way.

I had tears in my eyes when he was describing the horse so beautifully like he actually saw beauty and ellegance and something more in him than just a stupid animal and I just love it. I love that he formed a relationship with the horse, for whatever reason. I love when people bond with animals. I love that he gave it a chance, I love that he did everything he was told, I love that he went to rehab in the first place, I love this entire interview.

I'm so hyped Matty is clean.. This kind of stuff terrifies me though. Especially after losing Mac Miller who has been my biggest inspiration for 10 years. I still find myself having issues comprehending it.. Considering Mac was finally clean for awhile, then everything went to shit but he was going around assuring people he was good.. It's just scary because when you become clean, relapsing etc makes your body so much more fragile.. I don't know what I'd do if we all lost Matty like that as well. He seems like he's genuinely in a good place though, and I think having his close friends as band mates who don't do that stuff will help save him.

Yeah it always happens, Amy Winehouse was clean then she doves back in and it killed her. That guy from glee as well. I think Matty will be okay, he's addicted to recovery now it seems like which is a good thing in this case

Nobody can save him,not friends/family/ not even rehab can save someone if the will to choose drugs is stronger than the want to stay clean , it's a tough battle. Wish him well in his recovery.

It's not really that you're more fragile after your clean and then relapse, it's that you did drugs or drank for YEARS, you developed the ability after all that time to do massive amounts of whatever drug or drink massive amounts. So most of the time, when relapse occurs, your mind is still at that last place you were, when you could take a massive shot of h, or pop 20 lortabs at one time, but your body has settled back down to a normal level, and your tolerance is back at almost nothing.

I once read somewhere: "the difference between a dog and a human is that a dog knows how to be a dog" or something like that. He said he found human qualities in a horse and it reminded me of this line.
He seems like a human. A good human. Rare these days.

I’ve been listening to their music for a few years now, but I was never sure that he was the greatest person. It’s so great to hear him trying to be better.

I always see this Norweigan geezer doing interviews, mostly with people from the UK due to the algorithm, but man this interviewing style needs to be more prevalent. No interruptions. Even if a guest is roundabout with their point, he gives them the time to get there. Cloest I can come to a UK version of this is Graham Northon, but even then there's a quick witty comment here and there, and it throws the flow completely off. When a question is asked, it is to elaborate or delve deeper rather than to quickly move on comedically. Props

Such an interesting, articulate and intelligent young man., quite profound. This young man has a voice that when he speaks you listen. I believe he will be very special, like a Lennon or a Dylan or a Marley.
