Another great vid. Though we may have to make a drinking game out of Hickman mentions. Heres a few more scifi comics people might enjoy: 1) Nexus by Mike Baron and Steve Rude. - From Dark Horse, retro space opera about a man with godlike power, but to keep it he must act as executioner for a mercurial alien. 2) Atomic Robo, by Brian Clevenger and Scott Wegener - From IDW, Light pulpy adventure stories in which a robot created by Nikola Tessla goes up against Nazis, mad scientists, intelligent dinosaurs, and more. 3) Godzilla, The Half Century War, by James Stokoe - From IDW, Lt. Ota Murakami was on hand when Godzilla first hit Japan. This is the story of his 50 year obsession with and struggle agains the king of monsters. 4) Prophet by Brandon Graham and SImon Roy - From Image, mind blowing space opera. "On distant future Earth, changed by time and alien influence, John Prophet awakes from cryosleep. His mission is to awaken the empire of Earth. This comic does the impossible - it makes Extreme Studios characters worth reading. 5) Black Science, by Rick Remender and Matteo Scalera - From Image, Grant Mackay created a device that can punch through to different realities. Then something went wrong. Grant and his family are lost, crashing deeper and deeper, towards the center of reality and sewing chaos and destruction in their wake. 6) Nemesis the Warlock, by Pat Mills and Kevin Oneil - From 2000 AD, the story of a brutal human empire, and the weird and wicked aliens that rebel against it. Off the wall stories and amaing art. 7) Strontium Dog, by John Wagner, Alan Grant, and Carlos Ezquerra - From 2000 AD, Johnny Alpha is a bounty hunter in a Britain ravaged by nuclear fallout. His adventures will take him around the world, to the stars, even back in time. 8) Rouge Trooper by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons - From 2000 AD, Rogue is a Genetic Infantryman, created to fight in the toxic environment of Nu-Earth. These stories are great, and feature some early work by Alan Moore, as well as Colin Wildon and Cam Kennedy. 9) Judge Dredd, by Johh Wagner, Mike McMaon, and Brian Bolland - From 2000 AD, in the vast urban nightmare of Mega-City One, he is the law. The Continent of North America is all but uninhabitable after nuclear war. Mega-Cities spanning hundreds of miles are home to billions. Lots of weird @#$# happens there, and it's up to the Judges to keep the Peace.
I’m a sucker for a good Hickman 😂👏📚 I’m happy to see Nexus on here I’ve actually really wanted to check that title out! A few others on here I’ve never heard of I’ll need to check them out :)
Thanks for this post. Def some titles I haven't read but will check out now. I'm a big fan of Judge Dredd and the case files that compile the stories, especially the original black and white stories. More recently I'm really enjoying Brink by Dan Abnett :)

It is very important that you get out of DC and Marvel sometimes. These two shouldn't overshadow other creators and publishers that also do a great job. Really good selection! I'm gonna get Geiger and Undiscovered Country for sure. Thanks for the video. Cheers from Belgium.
What are your thoughts on the Coheed and Cambria comics, the Amory Wars? I do t really hear comic fans talk about them. They are a space opera, so I was wondering.
Good stuff as usual :) I'd add a few interesting books, that might not be very well known. 1. The Invincible (by Rafał Mikołajczyk)- a comic adaptation of the great SF book by Lem. A techno-horror with heavy emphasis on science. A thing of beauty! 2. Ion Mud - black and white masterpiece. Huge spaceship, lonely protagonist traveling through the no-so-empty corridors. Very good book! 3. Alfonso Font books, either Tales of an Imperfect Future (a bit more serious in tone) or Clarke & Kubrick: Spatialists Inc. - crazy space comedy.
Annihilation, Geiger, Nocterra, Star Wars and Planetary are all awsome. Great choices. But you can’t talk sci-fi and not say Don Lawrence; Storm and The Trigan empire are some of the best comics ever!
@@TheComicBookReportDon Lawrence painted style is legendary, really some of the best artwork I ever saw. Bit of an European Alex Ross. The rise and fall of the Trigan empire follows emperor Trigo and how he leeds his people from a nomadic existence to a highly developed culture. A sci-fi Roman empire. One of my all time favorite series. Storm is about an astronaut who gets lost in time. It’s a bit of a crossover between sci-fi and fantasy. Both are absolute must reads, Dominick. 🤩💎🤩💎
Nice choices! I have some suggestions: The Incal, The Metabarons, Fear Agent, Tokyo Ghost, Black Science, Sentient, Akira (manga), Pluto (manga), Planetes (manga), Neon Genesis Evangelion (manga)
Casanova by Matt Fraction is beyond trippy but an awesome sci-fi series. And yes, ANYTHING by Hickman is worth reading but I think my fave sci-fi books by him are Transhuman, Pax Romana and Manhattan Projects (especially fun if you like Oppenheimer!)
After reading the 1st TP of Radiant Black I had to go and get all the others! I am such a huge fan of it and hopefully it gets a deluxe edition at some point!

The legion is disbanded. The United Plantes are fighting amongst themselves. Former comrades have become mortal enemies. What's a hero who's lost his powers to do? If he's Rokk Krinn, there's only one answer - Find your friends, and keep fighting! 3) Hawkworld limited series by Time Truman. A masterpiece of SF comics. Set on the planet Thanagar, we follow the journey of Katar Hol from scion of a powerful famil, to exiled criminal, to underworld boss, to champion of his people. This is a reimaginig of Hawkman. 4) Micronauts, byu Bill Mantlo and Michael Golden - Star Wars in the Quantum realm. 5) Rom: Space Knight by Bill Mantlo, Sal Buscema, and Steve Ditko - The Space Knights gave up their humanity to protect their worls from the sorcerous shape-changing Dire Wraithes. Rom is the last Space Knight. He has pursued his foes for a hundred years to an inhabited world on the edge of the Milky Way. The final confrontation with the Wraithes will be fought... on Earth. This series is a lot of scifi, but incoporates much of the marvel universe. 7) The Incal by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Jean Giraud (Moebius- yes, THAT Moebius) - a minid bending space opera from one on the most experimental minds in comics and one of the greatest artists that ever touched a pen.
