Definitely would enjoy a similar DC video! Look forward to your review of Beyond, I did not really enjoy it week to week but it may be one of those that works better as a collection! For what’s been captivating me- I just finished the Soule Daredevil omnibus and really did not want to put it down! The way he weaved in and out of different story lines felt unique and I really loved his writing! I’m really glad I got that before it went out of print

I have that run in paperback (missed the Omni printing 😓). While not my favorite run, I still thought it was excellent, the art was also engaging and fun I thought.
Love the video! But man the beyond story was certainly something. I bought it all in single issues as it came out and I was super excited. Then by the end of it I was really disappointed ☹️. The choices they made with Ben Reilly in the end was not for me. It feels like they just made the story to ruin Ben’s career and legacy. Again love your videos just wanted to share an opinion!

Thor by JMS got me back to the hobby after staying away for a good number of years (90s-2000s). Solid story telling from JMS and phenomenal art from Olivier Coipel. The original omni was also my very first omnibus. I still have it and this newer version with the Gillen run but I will never sell it. Also, modern Thor is one of best written characters in Marvel right now, right up there with Daredevil. JMS,Gillen,Fraction,Aaron,Cates and currently AL Ewing. And all of these consecutive runs are in omnibus format.

I read Captain Mar-Vel by Peter David when it came out and got the omnibus as soon as it came out. Great run and for me the best designed Captain Mar-Vel and run all together.
I bought the Genis vel omni when it came out and im down to 7 omnis I have left to read in my reading pile and finally got to this one. It's genuinely pretty good, it felt like it was a continuation in some sense of his Hulk run, as it uses a lot of characters from his Hulk run. It's got his humor which is pretty solid.
I still need to read his Hulk run, but definitely enjoying Genis-Vell. Peter David’s voice is so well articulated, flourishes of humor and action-fun, fun stuff
@TheComicBookReport I found his humor in this a bit more grating at times then his Hulk run. Not bad or anything, I think im just not used to cosmic marvel being portrayed in such a lighter tone necessarily? Or maybe its also the art itself. There are some great arcs though.
There was GREAT artists in the Beyond era. It’s was like 80% fine -> good. Great moments w/ MJ and Peter dealing with past moments. The whole thing just lost steam at the end. Things get convoluted and full story beats just kinda get dropped. Think it feels sour in the general consensus due to what came after and having the rug pulled from under the fans w/ the following next run. But overall definitely some other great Omni’s here. One being the death of Wolverine. You really felt it by the end.
Yeah I will say the end of the beyond omnibus felt a tad rushed? I wonder if that era would have improved with maybe 5-10 more issues before the creators landed the plane narratively so to speak, but that notwithstanding I still greatly enjoyed it, more than I even hoped to! I’m looking forward to reviewing it soon 🕷️ And yeah death of Wolverine has been a blast so far, I’d read some of the issues included in it before but there’s a ton there I never had the chance to read/collect-definitely an exciting release

beyond is pretty awesome, zeb wells era has some good stories but is really weird overall, the vibes and plot decisions just arent there
