Roller stands are always great to have. I made one years ago.
Thanks Ken. These are working great.
Nice Job Randy!
Gary 77-Year-Old Home-Shop-Machinist in the Beautiful Mountains of Northwest Arkansas
Thank you Gary.
Stands were used on a 1947 Beech 35. Great Video Randy
I left the N number on there for folks to look up. Nice job. I worked on the plane a few times. Bill Whitla owned it, he is gone now, but a good guy. Thanks.
Nice job
Thank you.
Right On Randy! 👍🏼 Those are some nice stout racks. The base on those is great and won’t fall over like those folding ones. Nice work! 💥⚡️💪
Right onThanks Jon, They are working out great.
Those look very slick! And all out of re-purposed material, nicely done. I have a couple rollers from a treadmill that got pilfered for parts waiting to be used for just such a purpose.
These were well worth the time, they work great. Thanks Everett.
very good video..thanks for your time
Thanks for watching Tr.
Great to see some re-purposing - always great to find stuff to re-use. Great Job Randy.
Yes! Thank you! Chris, Take care.
Neat quick build for sure
Yep one dayer. Thanks James.
Nice job Randy👍🏻
Thanks MC.
Nice setup
Thanks!
Awesome Randy!
Thank you Almost.
Pretty slick Randy
Thanks Jim.
A fine job and obviously done Randy Richard right. Keep on keeping on.
Thank you Harold. KOKO.
Great use of materials on hand Randy. I liked the way the video flowed like a ballet. The table saw looks like a gem in the rough. Can't beat the vintage tools with no plastic, aluminum or mystery metal.
There is no plastic on this thing. I want to weigh it, I know I can't pick it up. Cast Iron top to bottom. Needs some TLC. Thanks Jim.
Like a charm!
Thanks Greg. Cleaning up the scrap pile.
Nice job on the stands Randy, shop is coming along great. Gary
Thanks Gary. Getting there.
Nice!
Thank you Yuchol.
Great to see you in the new shop and back to making your videos
Working on it Kimber. Still busy building the addition. Thanks.
Wow when they made those old saws they sure didn't add any bells and whistles. Very nice stands.
No Bells or whistles, just a lot of getter done. We will make it shine. Thanks LLoyd.
Enjoyed...nice recycle/build...
Thank you Chuck, Take it easy up at the lake.
Hi Randy,
Nice looking rollers there, to be used for many years to come.
I think so. Thank you Eric.
Well, how about that! Good use of old materials for a useful new device...plus it's something you needed to get on with your building.
Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely! They work great. Thanks Joe.
Gaffer to a young Randy Richard in the early 70’ in a shipyard, ‘hey son go and make a set of adjustable rollers for the joiners shop’. RR to gaffer ‘er um where do I get the stock?’ Gaffer to RR, look around you sonny boy’. Love it randy, great to see the extension is progressing. Kindest regards. Joe.
Right on, I think that happened more than once. thanks Joe.
Morning Randy! I need to make some of those. You should have said, "This project is squared by Fireball Tools!" Giving a little love,
Thanks Craig, Mornin. I have only waited about 30 years to make these. Great tools from Fireball.
I like the welding table more each time I see it. I hope to make one soon.
The table is great, lots of options. Thanks Randy.
Hi Randy,
Quite new to your channel... i enjoyed the video and am looking forward to watching more.
Take care
Paul,,
Thank you Paul.
Run 3 bolts triangle pattern thru the base plates and you can likely get a lot of that wobble out, maybe make them better to use. I use my material stands a ton on my saw. Super handy!
Yep I will do something. Thanks Brian.
Great progress Randy. Less music. Good stuff
Thanks Randy.
Hi Randy, good to see you're doing well. A tip for when you oil your timber (from your previous video) - get a long nap roller (similar width to your boards) to apply the oil and then lay it off with a brush to work it into the grain. This'll get it on much faster with far less effort. Same if you use paint. Stay safe and well :)
Thanks for the tip! Thanks Anthony.
Recycle as needed.
For sure Mike. Thanks.
pretty kooolll old table saw there Randy. when you go to doing a restoration on it, be sure to make a new stand for it. the flimsy stands that were provided by the factory are mediocre at best. here's a little secret about these kind of machines: the mass of the base should be equal or up to 1.5 times the mass of the of machine. that really cuts down on the vibration.
vibration is one source of drift of the saw blade in the cut. also the increased mass lowers the center of gravity and makes the whole machine less susceptible to tipping over when you encounter increased resistance during the cut.
mobile applications of a table saw are less than optimal but you can compensate by the increase in mass of the base. if you have the luxury of space and can dedicate a spot in the shop to the saw, the best thing is to bolt it to the floor as well..
cheers!
mike
Thanks Mike. I agree the stand is be biggest down fall of the saw, Top heavy and flimsy and difficult to move.
Nice supports Randy, I was looking for designs of the same purpose and saw some that had a tapered lead in to compensate for the sag, which is the only problem I can see if the stock is long and spindly. I'm looking forward to the saw rebuild, cheers, enjoyed!
Thanks Howder. Yep the sag is an issue. I was thinking of adding a leadin ramp.
@@RRINTHESHOP Yeah that is what I meant by a tapered lead, any how those rollers looked super with that nice paint job, happy shop time!
Now you need to add three equally spaced feet to keep it from wobbling on uneven surfaces
Yep I will do some thing the bottom plates at not flat so some feet are in order, they work for now. Thanks Les.
I need to make or buy a heavy duty set for the infeed and outfeed of my bandsaw. The flimsy set I have for my wood working stuff is too light, especially with the thumb screw height adjusters (they slip too easily).
These are working out great, A bit more work for better feet, upgrade I think will be coming. Thanks Barry.
Randy what are you using to mark your metal with that look whiter than a soapstone
A Silver Streak Bill, These are great. Here is a Link. amzn.to/31yvhA2
